I'm so so glad u spoke about how frustrating dating can be. I was talking to a guy for 2 weeks, we only texted cause he was out of the country for work for 10 days. I REALLYYY liked him, he was sweet and funny and smart and I could really see myself dating this man. But all of a sudden a couple of days ago he became very condescending and rude and when I confronted him about it he just gaslit me and now we're no longer talking. I feel so sad and disappointed. I'm tired
I’m so sorry, but trust me you sound like you’re much better off. There have been times where I spent months talking to someone before they revealed themselves. You’ll find someone better!
i don't know how to phrase this but you have such an unique artistic Intuition, your combinations and choices of colour and placement make me really happy and fit so well together. Also you do colourful makeup in a very sophisticated and wearable way i am pretty sure i would have looked like a child playing with makeup using the same colours and textures. I learn so much from you. Thank you so much! ❤️
I've learned so much from her too! My makeup skills have leveled up several levels by watching her this past year. Julia is the best, and I always enjoy her videos too. ❤️
the eyes are stunning! I know dating apps are convenient because ppl are so busy, but they ick me out. if you live i near a larger city I recommend going to trivia nights, join a book club, go to yoga in the park, sign up for a kickball/softball league, take a class in something that interests you, ect. Id rather be living & enjoying my life than talking to randos on an app. You're also more likely to meet someone who shares your interests or make new friends which will enhance your social circle, and increases your chances of meeting someone.
That’s what I’ve been suggesting to my brother!! He never listens to me and then I have to hear him complain about the girls he meets on the apps who he has nothing in common with 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Thanks for telling your story. Meeting men through an app is like a magic hat, you can get a cute rabbit or a cockroach. I met my current partner via chat 15 years ago and we are still together. I got to talk to someone after a party full of frustrations and after discarding many people who had nothing to contribute, I met someone really authentic who understood me and felt the same lacks that I did at that moment, we both wanted to find love and someone unique and true, and we did not stop talking until the next day, then we met, we connected and until this moment we have not separated and we are happy together. 🥰
Thank you for speaking up about how hard dating is! I really relate to what you said. Also the light thing you did while talking about red flags was great 💛 I haven't dated in 12 years, not even one guy has asked me out either. I rarely got asked out before I stopped dating. I would literally watch guys hit on my friends, even the married ones, meanwhile no guys hit on me. It made me feel like I was the ugly step sister or like there was something wrong with me. I got sick of always being asked for nudes or sex, it wasn't just on dating apps either, it was also on social media & through texting, etc. Dating is so frustrating and I have enough to deal with in my life so I'd rather not deal with jerks who want nudes. I just want to be happy and enjoy life so unless some guy comes along who adds joy to my life instead of stress and/or heartbreak, I would rather stay single than deal with someone who makes me unhappy. Not dating has given me the chance to focus on raising my son & work on healing my trauma PTSD. I also got to spend almost 6 years with the best dog who helped me heal so much trauma and taught me to finally see I was worthy of unconditional love so I wouldn't trade those years for anything in the world.
I went on a Tinder date with a guy back in the day, maybe like 8 years ago? We were having a few beers and talking, and I thought it was going pretty well. After his 3rd beer he starts getting *honest*. He told me he is engaged, but that his fiancée went on a date behind his back, and they decided he could go on one too to “even them out”. WHAT THE F?! Men in their 20s, I cannot. I ended up meeting a guy 7 years older than me and married him 😅
GIRL i don't normally comment but i'm a viewer of yours and our dating experiences are so similar LOL it makes me laugh every single time you tell a story bc i've been thru it, no matter how oddly specific it is. like down to meeting a correctional officer online who worked at a jail and getting freaked out🙅♀. In my experience the correctional officer i was seeing had a fling/girlfriend/idk what title they had, the entire time (i didn't know this until i came across her profile, and they're still together now lol) not to generalize but just overall bad news. And not to project my feelings AT ALL but I remember how insecure, sad and alone i felt. You dodged a bullet and just know that you deserve much better
I don’t have a Snapchat but I’ve heard things like a lot of people use it to cheat. So I when she said he kept messaging her on Snapchat that’s the first thing that came to mind- that he may have a girlfriend.
@@Crystal0139 Seriously!!! I sometimes can't help but think that too - either that or he has a lot of girls on the go. Not worth it. Aw, thank you!! 💖 Wow, I really appreciate that. It happened last year and since then I've been dating someone for around 7 months, so thankfully things went uphill. All the best to you and your hubby!! XO
So true! It feels really bad to find yourself in a sucky situation like that, but we all deserve better and there are better people out there. We all deserve to be treated with respect and love at the Minimum in our romantic relationships! And the sad feelings of rejection or loss when you find out somebody is not a good match (or perhaps not a good person) will fade when you do find the right person. ❤️
Julia, I legit believe you are the most beautiful person on this here platform, not to mention hilarious, sweet, charming, and oh so talented. And you have the cutest cats. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that the men aren’t simply piling up at your doorstep just begging for a chance. Ah the modern human condition, I’m so sorry you have to deal with such nonsense - you truly deserve better 💐
Hi Julia! If you see this, I’m the one who consistently reminds you that I am old enough to be your mom and yet I have learned so much from you. Makeup for me growing up was just going to the drugstore and grabbing Maybelline blue eyeshadow and putting too much on, completely clueless. Nobody talked about it in my world in the artistic way that you do so thank you. Plus I just think you’re adorable and funny and very real. Which brings me to my point… In my 50s I can tell you that the nonsense doesn’t stop. Which is one of the many reasons I’m taking a break from dating right now. I just moved, I’m changing jobs, way too much going on. But let me just say that I had a blog about dating in my 40s because that’s how many stories I had. Hang in. You’re at the age to have fun; just be safe and careful like you obviously are. You’re ahead of the game to recognize red flags as quickly as you did. Sending you love! (You do make us proud, btw!) 🤎💕 PS if anyone else reads this, I was married for years and I have a wonderful 21 year old son. So this is not a sympathy grab. I love being single right now!!
Online dating is extremely frustrating. Men are either over zealous and come on too strong or are completely emotionally unavailable. I've had so many creeps who I thought were nice send pics (you know the ones) as soon as I feel comfortable enough to give my number. Or ask for pics from me... You aren't alone 😘 You're a talented, smart lady and I'm sure there is someone that deserves you out there. ❤️
Ooohh girl!! I ran away from the nuts on dating sites, it was like 5 years ago. I only did it because my bestie did it, all nightmares. The one guy I let get a little close to me, met me once, then was texting me constantly, then got jealous when I socialized with my friends, male and female. Nope, nope, nopitty, nope!! If there's a true love out there for you (or me, or my bestie), we'll find them without a bunch of creepers on dating sites. 😁
thank you so much for speaking about how stressful dating is! I matched some guy on Tinder and hit it right off like I’m talking sarcasm and humour was on point. We texted for a week around the clock and really got to know each other. He even texted with hearts and stuff which was kinda weird to me but whatever nice to know a guy that shows affection I thought. So after a week we went on a date. First date with someone I met online for me. First tinder date. First date in a LONG time. So I get there and he was late so I kinda walked around a bit and then he arrived but didn’t see me. And when I tell you THE SECOND I saw him especially the way he walked I knew it wasn’t going to work out and dreaded the date. It was something about his walk I knew right away what his personality was. And the date was horrible. He was sooo low-key misogynistic in a very underlying way always blaming his relationship problems on women and giving these compliments that bring other women down (I’m glad you don’t wear that much makeup; you’re the first smart women I met on Tinder) like I wanted to throw up right there. Had to set down for a picnic and dinner. Cherry on top was him just taking some of my fries without asking & not washing or disinfecting his hands first!! Major red flag lol😂 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
Good on you for not responding to his snaps. I hate how disposable people are to each other these days everything is done out of convenience. Especially where social media is involved.
Stunning as usual!! I love that you can make such creative looks and colorful looks seem so wearable in the best way. You’ve opened my eyes to color and stunning shapes for neutrals and colors alike!
I would love to see you use really glittery shade like the pat McGrath one with like the nyx glitter primer under it or some sort of sticky primer. It would help keep any glitters from falling onto the “shelf” 😂 and would also just make them pop even more. I always thought they didn’t make a difference but they really do and ever since I figured that out I don’t apply ANY shimmer or glittery shade without some sort of base underneath. Also, it would make it so the chrome flakes didn’t lift off the pat McGrath shade under it. But anyways, I absolutely love your videos and I’m seriously OBSESSSSSSED with this look! I want to recreate it so bad but I’m not great at eyeshadow and blending, but I’m going to have to try this one! In love! 😍 xoxoxoxoxx hope your doing well ❤
The lip really matches well to your eye look. You look beautiful! Be careful on the dating apps they bring out the scammers and weirdos. Stay safe, love you❤️🩹🐈⬛🐈🐕🐎❤️🩹
I’ve been off dating apps for a couple of years now because of the exact reasons you said. It’s the same guys and the same let downs. I used to use Snapchat more but I’m at an age now where men I’m dating should NOT be using that app for dating so if someone asks for my snap or adds me there, it’s an immediate red flag for me too. I’m glad that you’ve been hopeful (despite this last experience) and continue to try because I’ve become completely hopeless lol I seriously commend you. Having an open mind is so important. Any dates that I’ve gone on more recently are through setups from friends and family. Even though those dates aren’t that much better, I feel a little better about knowing I can blame said friends and family for the bad match up 🤣🤣 (Kidding 🤷🏻♀️😉)
I had this video on in the background as I was getting myself ready and my daughter (4) said…OOOOOhh that girl is pretty, mommy you wanna do your makeup Like that? 🥰. She’s right, so pretty Julia!
Hi, Julia! Thanks for the video, I like the idea of doing it once a month, at least. Could you please make a video using the Mothership I? I own that palette, but haven’t ventured into the blue yet!
This look is soo fun!! Looks like a Coachella look, in my opinion, and also can be a soft look too, somewhere in between. And , I've always wondered which celebrity reminded me of you, and now I got it! You look a lot like Dakota Johnson! So soft spoken, and very pretty ❤️💜
Also I know I already commented but please do a video with the other Mothership! It’s an older one so it would be exciting to see a new look from it (unless you already have I should check). Especially since Pat hasn’t really done a dedicated cools color story in a while
This look turned out so stunning! You inspire me to play more with color. I just feel like it tends to get lost behind my glasses lol I also totally relate to you re: the apps. I used various dating apps for 7 years until I met my boyfriend of 3 years on Hinge! We met when I had decided to slow down and not put pressure on myself to find “the one.” I hope you find your person and they’re everything you deserve! ❤
As the only social media available when my wife and I met approximately 42,000 years ago (aka 2003, before getting together in 2004) was the Yahoo!Group we chatted on, I’ll share one of the funniest moments of our almost 20 years together: I was diagnosed with an aggressive blood clotting disorder shortly after we started dating, and have been hospitalized a whole buttload of times. During one of those stays, a nurse was convinced my wife - who is ten years older - was my daughter. I WAS IN MY MID-TWENTIES. Way to kick a sick girl while she’s down, lady! My wife still preens about it to this day. So marriage ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. 😉 This makeup look is, though, so thank you for being you, sweet Julia. ❤️
Oh no 🙈 I’m so sorry but this killed me 😅 Having experienced it, I’m of the opinion that every hour of being hospitalized immediately adds 5 years to your face, so there!
I just moved back to Alaska and I’ve been slow chatting with one or two guys but you EXACTLY described the cycle of the apps lol. I always relook at how I’m feeling when I redownload them and if I feel like I’m doing it for the hell of it, I bow out. Sometimes it’s just way better for my mental health to be more in the real world lol. Also I think you’re on the earlier side of the twenties while I’m at the tail end. I promise the Snapchat BS dies down as you age up your dating range
Beautiful look! I would love to see you do a look with the blue Pat palette-- I purchased it a few months ago and would love some inspo from you. You're the best.
My fenty bronzer brush has not been used enough and your recent videos make me want to use it again. I think the shape is intimidating! Some surprising picks, a few of mine got chosen but when I voted I was also surprised! 😂
Just curious, how do you effectively remove glitter eyeshadows. I always in up with them randomly all over my face for the next week or two no matter how much I scrub and try to get them off... 😞
I’m glad you went with the Merit bronzer! The swatches on Sephora make it look so greasy and muddy looking. I was totally going to pass on it, but now I’m excited to try it!
I love these types of videos and would love to see monthly!! Also I know how frustrating online dating can be but I met my husband on a dating app, you never know!
These types of videos are so funny cause I always just pick whatever products I find interesting and never think about whether or not they’ll create a cohesive look 😂
Love the look, you snapped! 😂. And I think when we do these votes, I subconsciously pick things I know you like. Like, rarely is there something I don’t know your opinion on already. I did pick the makeup forever lipliners! Lol, I love them. Also, if you post here that there is a poll over on your Instagram, that might help. And kind of simultaneously promote your Instagram. Maybe? I don’t know. Lol, fun video. 😂🤷🏽♀️🥰
Bronzer is difficult for me. I find the undertones to look unnatural with my olive undertone. I skip on it most days. When I do apply it, I lean into cooler ones. Thanks for the tutorial. I will use these little tricks for when I have to reapply my bronzer.
Dating apps are indeed very frustrating, there are so many weirdos you need to sift through. I no longer use dating apps, but when I was younger I used to and the dates were pretty normal in that I was lucky to not come across any strange people, but it was so time consuming and frustrating so I got bored and stopped using them
I was only on Tinder for like 1-2 months before I met my now husband at a bar but the men are WILD. I remember talking to this guy for maybe a day or couple days and he immediately got SO possessive. I’m like dude I don’t even know you who do you think you are. Like being weird about me hanging out with my friends that I’d known for years.
I broke off an engagement to a toxic guy. I had tried dating for a couple of years and eventually I had a thing with a guy for a couple of months, long distance… turns out he was a criminal. Ha! I was getting SO sick and tired of dating and right after that, I found my future husband. Lol, some of us really get tested before we find our person. From a criminal to a doctor lolol I still chuckle every time I think of it now. 😂
Sucks for men !! When I was in dating scene I got looser asking for money etc .. I deleted those apps.. I met my common law now 4 years later from a fb dating group from my area .. set up going to a bar for dancing and if anyone wanted to join meet there it was open to all .. I met him that night chatted a bit and others .. but didn’t talk for another almost 2 weeks as was around Christmas .. well our first date together was Christmas Eve and have been together ever since!! Great look great products used and look great!!
With dating l feel like when you're ready to give up or you're just tired that's when God put the right person in your life, trust me l have been through the most and right when l was ready to give up on love and focus on making money that's when God gave me a good man but me being me after several heartbreaks l didn't what to accept he was the one for me because l just thought he was just like the rest ..... bt,ff now we are married and bby number 2 is on the way so l just pray for everyone who is on the same situation l was to find their true love n be happy...❤
Julia I undestand soo well the feelings of impatience in dating.. i too get on and off from apps and sometimes its just soo frustrating getting to know guys and then it not working😞I am on a pause from tinder now I think i was soo impatient wanting a boyfriend and that resulted in being too..picky?and so nobody seemed to be interesting to me.. so yeah 😂

Men really drop the façade so quickly sometimes 😬
I hate him after reading this 😶

Omg "tinkerbell's trail" sounds soo cute and ethereal. If you ever come out with a palette, I feel like you'd come up with the best names

I’ve been off dating apps for a couple of years now because of the exact reasons you said. It’s the same guys and the same let downs. I used various dating apps for 7 years until I met my boyfriend of 3 years on Hinge! We met when I had decided to slow down and not put pressure on myself to find “the one.” I hope you find your person and they’re everything you deserve! ❤
Wow that eye look is STUNNING!
Funny story, thanks for sharing! 😁
please also show us the look you had planned with the blue pat mcgrath palette in another video!
This is sooooo beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
would still love for you to use the blue PMG palette soon!
Your makeup vids brighten my life!!!!
Yes I would Love to Vote on here for products. Please Be Careful and Take Care. Big Hugs😊💝
Stunning look love your make up!!!
I hear you on the frustration. Dating as a mid to plus size girl is ROUGH. I’m currently talking to somebody but texting is like pulling teeth
Beautiful look! I would love to see you do a look with the blue Pat palette-- I purchased it a few months ago and would love some inspo from you. You're the best.
Ever since I stopped using stick foundations, I am OBSESSED with using liquid foundation.
My fenty bronzer brush has not been used enough and your recent videos make me want to use it again. I think the shape is intimidating! Some surprising picks, a few of mine got chosen but when I voted I was also surprised! 😂
Yayyy, loved the little extra time seeing the smooshy little munchkin!
And this eye look came out bombtastic!...lol
Just curious, how do you effectively remove glitter eyeshadows. I always in up with them randomly all over my face for the next week or two no matter how much I scrub and try to get them off... 😞
Maybe you can play with the other Pat McGrath palette with how you'd use it for an everyday, going out, and Halloween look
Love this look!!
Hi, love the look! Is there a new code you may have for Necessaire? It’s not working.
Your creativity is inspiring! I would be happy to watch more videos like this
Yahhh!! Excited for this❤❤❤❤❤❤
OMG I love these fairy eyes😍 You're so creative! The police lights moment killed me🤣
I’m glad you went with the Merit bronzer! The swatches on Sephora make it look so greasy and muddy looking. I was totally going to pass on it, but now I’m excited to try it!
Could you do more looks using only PML palettes?
I love these types of videos and would love to see monthly!! Also I know how frustrating online dating can be but I met my husband on a dating app, you never know!
Such a beautiful look! Btw will you be reviewing the new natasha denona palette? I really love the colour story and would like to hear your opinion 😊
Please do the other PMG palette too!
Love how the look turned out ,you look stunning as always 😍 ❤
I love how you say lilac 💜
You should totally do the blue pallette next 😂😂
Lovely as usual!!
GORGEOUUUSSSS
Dating apps are indeed very frustrating, there are so many weirdos you need to sift through. I no longer use dating apps, but when I was younger I used to and the dates were pretty normal in that I was lucky to not come across any strange people, but it was so time consuming and frustrating so I got bored and stopped using them
So glad I got to participate in this one. The choices did indeed surprise me.
You could be a moonlight fairy
Looks absolutely majestic. 💖
Please do wedding makeup!
I voted for the mothership 1...I'm so sad that it lost! But, this eye look was beautiful anyway! 💙
Yay... Been waiting for ur new vid. ❤😊
Thank you for talking about the dating apps! I felt like it was just me.. honestly I am almost giving up.most guys there are pyschos idk
To say "most guys are psychos" is kinda messed up. I bet you know good guys. You just put them in the friend zone lol
🥲this look is so pretty
Tinker bells pixie dust ✨
I broke off an engagement to a toxic guy. I had tried dating for a couple of years and eventually I had a thing with a guy for a couple of months, long distance… turns out he was a criminal. Ha! I was getting SO sick and tired of dating and right after that, I found my future husband. Lol, some of us really get tested before we find our person. From a criminal to a doctor lolol I still chuckle every time I think of it now. 😂
Sweet soul 🌼 best wishes 🤞 trust your instincts
Sucks for men !! When I was in dating scene I got looser asking for money etc .. I deleted those apps..
I met my common law now 4 years later from a fb dating group from my area .. set up going to a bar for dancing and if anyone wanted to join meet there it was open to all .. I met him that night chatted a bit and others .. but didn’t talk for another almost 2 weeks as was around Christmas .. well our first date together was Christmas Eve and have been together ever since!! Great look great products used and look great!!
Ooo I’m nice and early for once perfect video for me to watch whilst I clean my makeup brushes too 💖
Perfect video to get to the laundry I’ve been dreading!!
You saved yourself from becoming a lifetime movie😮 block block block!!!!!
Almost nothing I picked won but I love the outcome! The eyes look like a heat map.
GOOD 4 YOUUUU!😆
the red flags part got me rolling on the floor , but you're so damn right.
I read & hear so many horror stories from the dating scene I’m thankful I’m married!!Praying for you single gals😘❤️
Lol I feel bad for the men too 😂
With dating l feel like when you're ready to give up or you're just tired that's when God put the right person in your life, trust me l have been through the most and right when l was ready to give up on love and focus on making money that's when God gave me a good man but me being me after several heartbreaks l didn't what to accept he was the one for me because l just thought he was just like the rest ..... bt,ff now we are married and bby number 2 is on the way so l just pray for everyone who is on the same situation l was to find their true love n be happy...❤
So fun video ! Would love for it to be a regular thing. Voted on instagram and it´s so fun to se what you came up with !
Tinkerbell's Sparkly Gas Cloud

Start doing activities outside your box like golf or tennis…no apps!!!!!!
Do the blue in in another vid just because 😂🥰
I actually met my husband on a dating app. Lol. We have been together since 2014 and we have two kids ❤

Julia I undestand soo well the feelings of impatience in dating.. i too get on and off from apps and sometimes its just soo frustrating getting to know guys and then it not working😞I am on a pause from tinder now I think i was soo impatient wanting a boyfriend and that resulted in being too..picky?and so nobody seemed to be interesting to me.. so yeah 😂
