  • After hearing about the oil channel in the back of the camshaft I thought I would take the opportunity to take a look at it before re assembling the engine.
    Here is a link to the Kangaroo Stew where I bought it and got it running.

    That Standard engine always surprised me just how simple it really was. Honestly, it's really quite genius that they were able to simplify it so much. It's almost like they knew blokes in shed would be pulling it apart 70 years later....

      Everything was far simpler back then even engines.

    Fabulous session, Lance - thank you very much! The governor on my TEA has always been an intimidating bit of kit for me. Very glad you are going to delve into the dark arts of a reset 👍

      I absolutely agree adjusting the governor seems a dark art to me . Something I've struggled with. Watching with great interest 😁

    Just bought a Fergie28 and in researching what to keep an eye out for I stumbled across your channel.
    Whether it will be of use to me or not isn't even the point, just a fascinating watch and your narration is terrific. Some rainy days will be spent going through your back catalogue. Good on ya mate.

    Yes! Over tightening the fan belt destroys the rear bush in the generators. The Bosch VW beetle generators, with the ball bearings front and back, last forever!

      I wonder if that is where they got the idea from.

    I have learned a lot thanks for sharing your knowledge. I feel empowered to do the same. Are the sprockets and chain same as in the TED20?

    great video as usual Lance. Should there be any movement in the governor weights? except for the obvious swinging. stay safe

    How they dusted an oil bath engine is beyond me. I had a timing chain break due to broken governor weights on an mf35. There was no “blow up” or valve damage.

      @BundyBearsShed  4 года назад +2

      Shes 70 years old so I suppose we should expect a bit of wear.
