Sasaki to the mariners is not my first prediction, but they're also certainly not the longshot you're making them out to be. Pitching wins playoff games and if they can improve the offense by trading one of the starters (becomes a good option if you are signing sasaki) suddenly they are a serious threat for a deep playoff run.
As a mariners fan I highly doubt sasaki comes here but if his main priority is truly development the mariners aren’t that much of an underdog. 4 out of our 5 starters are homegrown and built into studs
Sometimes people do things we don't understand. I wouldn't be surprised though if he wants to get developed and then become the first 500 million pitcher.
The worst offseason prediction that I have seen is Gunnar Henderson getting traded to the Yankees. I would name the article that said this, but I forget which one did.

It makes sense that the Jays target a front end guy. They wanted Ohtani, who would have put him in line to be that arm in 2025. I could see them thinking Soto and Fried/Snell could = Ohtani, just a year late.
The worst BY FAR was O'neill to the Cubs. I'm a Cubs fan and I think I'd bolt if this happened. You mentioned 5 of the guys they have and did not bring up the 2-3 top OF prospects they have kicking at the door. The Cubs are looking at trading either prospect or OF just to make room. Dude must have been high when he thought this up!
Jim thank you so much for calling out Gleyber Torres to the Giants. Many other RUclips commentators have made this prediction and it makes little to no sense. Giants mentioned wanting to focus on defense, Gleyber doesn't provide that. Giants will be pursuing Kim heavily and I think it is the most likely move to happen this offseason.
FanSided went with two things I am rooting for with Detroit. Bregman, YES (if possible); Paul GOLDSHMIDT, IF Detroit trades Tork. If they keep Tork, and maybe platoon? Possible other scenario. We will have AFL MVP, JOSHUE Brizano up in two years. We'll be keeping that in mind, for sure.
I'm not sure the Phillies would *HAVE* to move Castellanos if they signed Santander. They could put one of the two in left field, then put Marsh/Hays/Rojas/whoever in center. If that sounds like a terrible defensive outfield, let's not forget that the Phillies were willing to put Kyle Schwarber out there.

Signing Burnes would not preclude the Dodgers from Signing Sasaki. The only questionj with Sasaki is where does he want to play? He wants endorsements...the Dodgers had around $100m in endorsements from Japanese companies. He wants to win...the Dodgers just won.
