I had a HotSnot back in the day. Hop up parts, bearings, shocks, 360T motor, and it was pretty nice. Buddy had a Kyosho Optima with a 480G motor, and it was still able to take him at the local track. Uh, local track was a school yard we converted, lol.
I chuckled when I saw you tape the front bumper,, my bumper had both sides broken and a large pull tie holding the remaining center part on for years until I remembered to actually ordered a spare. Funny thing the spare was only £12.00 🤣🤣 fantastic seeing the older buggies rip round 👍👍
That looked great fun guys, I started racing with a Tamiya Manta Ray indoors and it kept breaking. Tamiya plastics don't tend to flex much so only ran it for a few weeks before buying a second hand Kyosho Lazer ZX off one of the club guys. I ran the Lazer for quite a while which got upgraded to a ZXR and won lots of races at club level with it. After that it was the Schumacher Cat 2000 which was a game changer at the time, what a car that was.
Wow, that looked like a barrel load of fun!!
Great event

There is a massive difference in the drivability of the cars from the 1980s
The hobby evolved a lot during that time .
@@PopalongRC yeah I started racing in 1996
What a video
Cheers beard
Tip top my Tomy Intruder in there too :)
That was running well Chris .
Great vid of the day. Can you remember the name of the on site shop?
Racecraft R/C
Any ballraces in the hotshot?
Yeah we did ball race it but we do that for all our Tamiya builds …
Were the cars limited to motor turn size? Or was it just like open class racing
