Fun fact Jon -Erik Hexum is 100% Norwegian! With both a Norwegian dad and mom. And a brother named Gunnar. His dad Thorleif was born in Bergen, Norway in 1920 and immigrated to the US in the 1950s, a few years before Jon-Erik was born. Thorleif tragically died in a car accident in San Francisco in 1990 , he was 70 years old.

How the hell do you get the name of the guy you're supposed to be paying tribute to wrong not only once but TWICE ??! especially when it's on his own show where he's the lead actor - completely ridiculous
I was in the hospital for my first (and only) time when Hexum died, and I remember being sick with the flu and at home from school when I later learned of Hamilton's death. It made me feel a strange connection to the show.
I was 10 - it wasn't that long ago I realized how short-lived Voyagers actually was. It is such a huge part of my childhood memories that it seemed it must have been on longer. I watched Cover Up because of Hexum. I cried so hard at this scene.
He could’ve had such a promising career ahead… Also, it’s so disrespectful to see that the crew behind the show not only misspelled the word millenniums, but also Hexum’s own name twice when he was Jennifer O’Neill’s co-star on the show! Here’s a better version without the disrespectful typos. When a star dies, its light continues to shine across the universe for millenniums…. Jon-Erik Hexum died in October of this year… but the lives he touched will continue to be brightened by his light… forever… and ever… Jon-Erik Hexum 1957-1984 And also his replacement, Tony Hamilton as well. 1952-1995
The saddest part was that it did not have to happen. If the prop master had had a chance to educate him and be on set to handle the weapon, Jon-Erik would be an old man today. As it was, they wanted to reshoot the scene and had already dismissed the prop master for the day. Poor decisions based in exhaustion.
I was looking into Jon's biography and read about this memorial and had to look it up. Kind of messed up they got his name wrong in this tribute twice. I mean dam guys, really. Wonder where he could have gone had he lived?
Considering they wrote "milleniums" and couldn't even spell the honoree's NAME right, I'm absolutely astounded they used "its" correctly. Must've been a typo.
I'm pretty appalled at this memorial to tell you the truth. "Milleniums" isn't a word and if it were it would still need another n in it, the punctuation is nonsensical, and they misspelled Jon-Erik Hexum's name twice in two different ways. It comes off as sloppy and disrespectful.
I understand the grammatical issues as it relates to the tribute, however, you could feel the pain from Richard, Antony and Jennifer during this scene. Also, Antony met and knew Jon personally from their days in New York and had talked to him 3 days before the accident.
Todavía lo recuerdo, yo era niña cuando se emitió esta serie en mi país, luego supe por qué no salió más en la serie que no duró mucho tampoco😢era bellísimo Jon Erik
Don’t know why I remember this, but… at the time TV Guide had a “cheers and jeers” column. They gave the show cheers for the words of the tribute.. but jeers for spelling the name wrong. Both well deserved.
I have a hard time understanding what Anthony Hamilton is saying sometimes but I had the same problem with Hexum. Probably due to the old VHS dub rather than an issue with the actors.
Is that the actor who played Oscar Goldman in 6m dollar man? Either way, Jon-Erik Hexum sounds exactly like the other guy. it sounds like one Male voice actor playing two parts. LOL a blind person listening to this show might think it's the same actor. They should of had one change their octave a bit.
I still wonder about thus whole thing . something doesn't add up. he apparently said right before he put the gun to his temple, " let's see if I've got one for me " - yet when people working on the set when questioned , said that nobody saw it happen . meeno Peluce , his co-star and long time friend from VOYAGERS , said in an interview "mysteries and scandals " that they worked with prop guns on voyagers all the time, so he knew how dangerous they were .
Meeno is an unsuccessful, self-serving liar and that show is not a documentary. I wouldn't watch it at all, never mind believe it! Up your game intellectually and stay away from that junk food.
I'm entitled to my opinion. As for meeno, he is a very successful photographer , and has been a high school teacher as well was a very good friend of JEH. You are welcome to your opinion , but a lot of sources have said that NO ONE saw what happened , yet the " let's see if I've got one for me " comment allegedly said by JEH. Terry Kath was using live ammo and actually playing Russian Roulette. In This case it was a gun loaded with blanks that Jon Erik put to his head and pulled the trigger . The explosion of the gunpowder propelled a quarter sized chunk of his skull into his brain, causing his death.
Yes, it was. In series 2, episode one of the characters said that Mac had shot himself in-between takes, unaware that blanks (especially fired from a 44 Magnum) could kill at close range.
From Wikipedia: The episode on which Hexum had been working was broadcast on November 3, 1984, two weeks after his death. Cover Up continued production without Hexum's character. Three weeks later, on November 24, Antony Hamilton was introduced as agent Jack Striker, posing as a new member of the modeling team. Hexum's character Mac is noticeably absent, said to be on another mission. At the end of the episode, Henry Towler (Richard Anderson) breaks the news that Mac has been killed on the other assignment and would not be coming back. As the tears flowed, the camera panned back, and a memoriam written by Glen Larson appeared onscreen: When a star dies, its light continues to shine across the universe for millenniums. John (sic) Eric Hexum died in October of this year ... but the lives he touched will continue to be brightened by his light ... forever ... and ever.
Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Jon-Erik Hexum will be that man. Better than he was before. Better...stronger...faster... even more hansom.
