The angle of the upper arm leaning back is the anti dive, which I believe is measured in inches…this is to prevent the front end from “diving” under hard braking…caster would be the leaning of the spindle back so the wheels will straighten on their own..done by the upper ball joint being further back than the lower one. On the steering rack, have you considered electric power steering? I have a mustang 2 rack already but am considering a Volvo or MR2 electric over hydro pump. I think a better option if you want the shorter rack would be a manual rack. They can be done shorter. Couple that with an electric column from a Prius, Kia, or another manufacturer that has the electric columns. If I didn’t have a power rack already I would probably do the column assist Trucks looking awesome
Yes you’re correct. I’m still learning those bits. I spoke to a close friend and he was telling me in order to figure out Dive we need to know a few other things. He was also saying it’s not as important right now as we can fool with it later. As far as the electric rack, I really like that info!!! That’s awesome. I’m going to look into that. I wasn’t aware of using a steering column out of a car. That never dawned on me. Awesome info brother. Thank you. ❤️🫶🏻🫡
SIR! 🫡 You're welcome bud, sticker looks great on a red truck! Ive got a set of 18"/20" steelies with good tires on them that would also look good on that truck 😜 I really look forward to seeing the progress Scotts truck every week! Your thought process, ideas, and execution are really going to make this one hell of a truck! Keep it up, and stay hydrated! 💪🫶😎
Bending the tubes on the arms does absolutely nothing to the geometry of the suspension. It can definitely help with packaging of the airbag and all that but actual geometry the suspension pickup points is all that matters what connects them means 0.
Man, you just keep killing week after week. When you have 100k followers, I'll be glad to say I was here at the beginning ❤🤙
Thank you brother. I really appreciate it!!! I hope one day we both will be on that level and we both can say the same to each other. 🫶🏻🫶🏻
That suspension mock up blueprint is mindbending! The owner is getting a true work of art!
I’m extremely happy how everything is turning out. This next video it will all make sense. Super excited to show it to everyone. 🫡🫶🏻
Gotta embrace the a.d.d. haha. Great explanation sir !
Everyday. lol. Recently I’ve been really bad with it but for a good reason. This next video coming will make sense why. 😂🤣

@@magicman_metal_fab Do you have a copy of "Chassis Engineering" - by Herb Adams? Great resource for design suspensions.
Did you look at Sweet MFG. They do all types of Racks for racing. I think they have very narrow Rack and pinions.
No but someone else just commented the exact same thing. I’m definitely going to look into that. Thanks brother 🫶🏻🫡

Definitely am brother. Thanks again. When you get home. Lmk what you want for those wheels. 🫶🏻🫡

Have you looked into Woodward steering to see if they can come up with something for the rack
No brother, I will take a look now. I appreciate the info. 🫶🏻🫡
@@magicman_metal_fab no problem, they’re more geared towards motorsports but I’m sure they can do something for you
@@RMerritts66 thank you for sharing this bud. I appreciate you.

Yeah I realized that. The trick was I made them almost equal length. 🫶🏻🫡
