Tarawera Trail

A relaxing stroll through classic NZ bush. The Tarawera Trail is notable for starting (or ending) at the side of Lake Tarawera that has a geothermal hot water spring (called Hot Water Beach).
You can walk there and back from the Tarawera Trail carpark, or book a shuttle ferry so you only need to walk one way. The ferry can pick you up at the end of your walk, or drop you off at the start, up to you!
There is also a campsite at the Hot Water Beach which is bookable from the NZ Department of Conservation website.
