Felicity Huffman is actually a great actress. She was in Sorkin's Sports Night and should have been in TWW more often, as should Peter Krause and Josh Charles.
I love CJ's response when Felicity said that she doesn't feel that the majority leader and the president are on equal footing. Of course their not one's the president lol.
"Could care less" is what most Americans say. You'll note that the President who has lived in the UK says "couldn't care less" but Toby always says "could care less" because that's just how Americans say it.
@@ArtemisScribe Kind of like people who dress up as Frankenstein for Halloween thinking they are the monster when in reality, Frankenstein is the Doctor who created the monster. Just because people have been saying it wrong for so long doesn't make it right.
@@bicd3244 it's not wrong though. It's the American way of saying it. Calling Frankenstein the Monster is objectively wrong. Americans have justified the reasoning of "I could care less" to me. I don't *like* it but hey it's not the end of the world. I know what they mean. We all get "Eat your cake and have it too" technically "wrong" but language evolves.
Freaking love Felicity Huffman. If anyone who likes the West Wing hasn't seen SportsNight, make sure you do. Its a touch dated, but one of the best shows ever. Died far too early a death but it was just a little too smart for its time. Had it come after WW instead of before, it would probably still be going.
No, they are not. They provide "checks and balances" but they are not equal. Congress is described in Article I; the Executive Branch in Article II and the Judiciary in Article III. When Chief Justice John Marshall in 1804 in Marbury v Madison said that the Supreme Court has the "right" of "judicial review" , he gave the courts more power than was in the Constitution. Jefferson opposed it but it became precedent and now the Court makes law, which it was never supposed to do.
This was a stupid episode. Toby would not have put himself in such a "rookie" position. This scene was a good representation of how the parties "work together". And this was back when they kind of did work together.
The way she delivers “That’s where I brief” is just so perfect lol
This was a respectable game of chess between Felicity and CJ.

They really should have kept this character around.

A little goof... The White House Communications Director saying he could care less instead of couldn't care less @ 1:57

Or, maybe he could care less.

Loved the Sports Night reference at 0:40.
I'm with Toby.
The reality is fucking worse.
Well the neither the majority leader nor the speaker represents all of Congress. Perhaps the majority leader is equal to half the executive?
the three branches are supposed to be equal

@jimbopumbapigsticks And Desperate Housewives!

LOL! How classic is this?! Felicity Huffman, college cheater, playing a GOPig cheater!? LOL! Serendipity!?
I can't stand Huffman.
