Great video and may I add that handling composite or faux gold leaf can also result in oxidisation which creates black marks or fingerprints on the finish .Another reason to use transfer leaf as opposed to loose leaf .
Sometimes coating your hands with a little bit of baby powder can prevent fingerprints too.

Hi Annie, is using wax to seal the gold leaf strong enough for everyday use? Could it start to flake off with heavy wear? I was thinking of using this technique on some kitchen cabinets and I was wondering if I should use wax or lacquer to seal?
Because you are considering gilding some if not all of your kitchen cabinets, which are typically subjected to more daily wear and tear, we suggest sealing them with our Chalk Paint® Lacquer for a durable and long-lasting finish.

I have been watching your videos and I decided I want to chalk paint my bathroom vanity. The problem is I already sanded the drawers. I just want to know if I can still use chalk paint and if i do what step do I need to take next?
Yes, you can still use Chalk Paint® even if you have sanded your drawers. Just make sure to wipe off the sanding dust. Enjoy your painting!
Hi! I just wanted to ask, can you use chalk paint on laminated bathroom countertop?
Yes, you can! Just give your countertop a light sand to scuff the surface, giving it some 'tooth'. Start with a very thin coat of paint and let dry for about 24 hours to start the bonding process. After that you can continue to paint using your favorite painting technique. We recommend that you seal your paintwork with our Chalk Paint® Lacquer for a durable and long lasting finish.
