I appreciate the communication from Rare but these problems are so consistent that Rare needs to seriously reconsider their seasonal models. The amount of times Drew has had to say "we know we need to do better here", and the development team has still failed to reach the quality promised and expected (by even Rare's own team through admission), is just absurd. If every single update is suffering from a lack of quality control, you need to re-evaluate your seasonal model and the way you give players content. I expect better SOT , because this game is truly one of a kind and still has incredible potential after all these years.
@@Prothalassic not to mention this model was supposedly meant to increase and enhances the content and their improvement. We’ve had some extra long seasons and now seasons that are launching with a fifth of the content thats actually in it.
they stopped adding insider rewards AND they dont let insiders even test the full build. they drip feed feature sets to "laser focus" 1 item at a time while their developer build has the whole season update. its fricken sad

Same old story of "things didn't work out the way we intended them to." We know, Drew. We've gone through this in the past half a dozen seasons and it seems that a QA/QC team either doesn't exist or doesn't know how it's supposed to function. To disable flagship features at season launch shows that not only was the season not ready but it was *known* by the team that it wasn't ready. That's not an accident. That's like serving an undercooked meal, knowing it's an undercooked meal, then saying you're going to withhold certain foods until you can ensure the cooks prepare it properly. Who's inspecting the meals before they go out, if not designated kitchen staff? Insiders shouldn't be the ones. Insiders is more like testing the seasoning, flavor profiles, and plating to make sure the dish is as refined as possible, not to eat undercooked food. You understand why some of us find it to be a broken record when we hear the "we're committed to doing better" statements, yet keep getting broken seasons that prompt a "we messed up" speech.
the grapple gun has no range for even land movement it cant land on a ship unless its from falling and it basically is a overhyped tool that can only harpoon a chest to your hand but only if you are close enough to spit on the chest, blowpipe is quite good though 😂
Stop with the seasons thing and go back to sending smaller updates regularly when they are really ready and stable. Instead of big pack of content every 3 months and nothing in between, go with smaller content updates every month. That would not only make your work easier and the game more stable, it would also give players more things to do all the time.
Honestly they might want to take the Minecraft approach where it's like a quarterly update with bigger stuff working in the background so like maybe once every month or two months or 3 months or spread out across a quarter you get a bunch of small updates and then as a surprise maybe once a year you get something large like super large like a tall tale or something

They can't handle updates even in 3 months. First, it is released with problems, cut down, and then generally downgraded. And you want them to release updates earlier. Making an upgrade is not as simple as repainting an old ship skin and selling it to players again.

Wow, someone REALLY dropped the ball here. No hanging from ships, no traps, and now no disguises or crouching. And I'm still concerned about the efficacy of the grapple gun and blowpipe. I hope we don't have to wait until black friday for all these fixes...

This game has absolutely spiraled out of control. I don’t remember the last time I could play this game in a stable state. Really upsetting as a nearly day 1 player. Hope they get it together one day and I can return before it’s too late.
If you are Day 1 player, why are you suprised at this point? Im genuinely asking. As somebody who was through times of Arena and everything later on to a degree, how you can be suprised nothing changed? Its obviously more than switching one value from 0 to 1 and after that many years of degradation inside servers and hitreg that was "fixed" like 50x already, so we can safely assume they dont know how to fix it or cant within a time and budget, so game is running while being ductaped, even if contentwise they are probably around limit. Why are regular/ occasional SoT players are suprised about that after soooo many years of experience? Its mindboggling.

@@flaarezwow2693 Nobody will tell you whats going on internally, we can just speculate. But if after so many years of problems solution is not there, it either means, they cant, because it would be too expensive to implement or because of software limitations they created years ago (or both). So they are in constant loop of adding something new that is constantly shaking that yenga structure and trying to make it work, even if its doomed for failure with software/ time/ budget restrictions.
The main thing is that you don't mind that Hourglass is unplayable because it's full of cheaters. Not a single cheat that cheaters used throughout season 13 has been removed and even cheaters have new cheats like throwing knives that throw 2 at once and kill you instantly. I find it funny that you are upset that quickswap has been restored or that aircontrol goes with crouching, but there was no mention of cheats, which are 100x worse.
It is only me or the cargo crate plant no longer can be watered? They are withering slower but can't be watered to restore it which forces me to speed up the deliveries....

Honestly, if you mess up this bad on a seasonal launch. You should be forced to work unpaid overtime crunch as punishment every day until it's fixed. If that was a rule, none of these issues would exist. These happen because devs feel like they can get away with it with only "community backlash" and nothing more. 1000% people won't be coming in over the weekend on their day off to work on their emergency failure and that's just pathetic. If you mess up, you pay for it. It's only fair for not doing it right the first time.
Fixing these issues doesn't get them money. Plunder pass and pirate emporium cosmetics are the things they care about. Let's stop pretending that money isn't their primary concern.

So 7 main things were supposed to come to Season 14. Traps, crouching, disguises, hanging off ship, blowdarts, merfruit, and the harpoon gun. It's been 5 days, and 4 of those 7 things are now "temporarily disabled". What a great start to the season👍
Until everything is removed :D. I played with the Blowpipe and i got some issues while trying to reload ammo by using the ammo the skeletons drops on the ground. Sometimes, it refill everything and sometimes not. I don't know if it is intended or not but it seems to be only me.
I can't understand planning such changes to the game and not having it thoroughly prepared. And mainly talk about how you have a dedicated team of people who take care of the problem with cheaters, and then one day after the start of season 14, the cheaters already have all the cheats they had the whole time and not a single one has been removed. You try to save the situation with these videos where you say something, but a normal person can't even believe that after all that.
Oh and don't forget how this season came out a week early too! This puppy was ready to come out the oven early in rares opinion! At least the plunder pass and the new emporium items work as intended. The game may not function at all but THANK THE GODS I can buy my microtransactions.
WEEKS!!!! Like, with an S. Yell at your boss and tell them only 10 people working on the game isn't enough. This update was supposed to be out a week ago. If the update wasn't ready, it shouldn't have launched.
Honestly, a report of Season 14 of few weeks would have been preferable. Because this season released with missing features and now we have even less features available. I'm even ready to accept a pause of few weeks (even 1-2 months) in the introduction of new features/cosmetics as long as it is necessary to have a stable and less bugged game.
SERIOUSLY, Rare, stop launching content on a seasonal pattern and start releasing when it's READY. If these issues keep piling up, this game will die for dumb reasons. And that would be a crying shame
Laughing at the dumpster fire that is sot development is more fun than than playing the game right now. While a rollback is probably the best possible move here, it's truly breathtaking how badly executed every update to the game is - every new function added comes with horrendous bugs or breaks other connected systems, and/or systems you would think are completely decoupled from an update somehow get broken (shark spawns for example). Is it a version control issue? Is it a no-one-is-actually-testing-while-they're-programming issue? We know insiders feedback goes completely ignored - is it all of the above? When is the root issue going to be addressed instead of this endless game of apologies and months-late corrections?
Since im not allowed to talk about it openly, lets just say i have little hope to see the next season before summer/fall 2025. you guys truly need to overthink the whole season model. What's the problem in keeping a rotating plunder pass with their normal schedule and releasing the content updates separate when they are done and polished?
man, i miss the times where updates were teased ingame with little changes over multiple updates. Small events that introduced new gameplay mechanics which came together in a bigger update nobody knew about. Now we get a showcase of things that might come in about a year and we still need to hope that they wont break everything. And what about the grappling gun? You showed the world you wanted that, so you kinda needed to release it, contrary to what the insiders said that it would destroy the game. Now we have an overcomplicated ruleset of a weapon with its only function to save some time in a tall tale. Exactly what the game needed.. /s
Exactly. It's obvious that their main concern is money. Corporate greed is everywhere and they shouldn't try to pull the wool over people's eyes. By separating the plunder pass from the whole seasonal updates model, they'd still get their money whilst giving themselves more opportunities to sort their game out, and scaling back updates to small, monthly updates that only add a few features. Features that have actually been play tested.
you guys have been making the same mistake for years. you dont allow insiders to even test the coming updates. you give them 1 feature at a time to test and even then fail to properly test that content. 1. you need to lift the NDA on insiders so streamers can stream the coming updates. this will do multiple things... most important it will allow screen recording and give you loads of video footage of bugs happening so you can trouble shoot. Streamers LOVE to goof around in game and do things outside the box from how the developers intend for features to work. 2. having a fuller feature set available on your internal build and you playing internally on a different build than insiders are even playing is creating a disconnect where insiders are like "oh hey X, X, and X isnt working...... oh well thats just cause youre not on OUR build.. this game has a 7 year history of mismanagement. as much as i love everyone on the team you guys gotta own it when the guys on top who are supposed to be managing all this are not doing it well.
I know you said you appreciate our patience, but for some of us that patience has its limits. My wife hasn't played for over a month now due to poor game performance/bugs with last season. And after i saw how this season launched, i haven't touched the game either. I've no doubt I'll play if everything gets fixed, BUT this will be the first season in a long time where i don't buy your plunder pass or spend any money in your emporium. And I won't spend my money in this game this season even IF you manage to fix everything. I don't intend to be rude or toxic, but my money goes to support games that have earned it. And to be fair, RARE hasn't earned it for this season. And I've probably been TOO generous with supporting this game in past seasons through some pretty egregious issues with the game. I love you all RARE, and this game is by far my favorite game nowadays. Hope you all can pull it together someday.
The next update will be like : Because of a big exploit, while we are working on a fix, it was needed to remove the sea and the ships. All players will be locked to a single island, we temporarily changed the game name to "Island of Thieves" instead.
Drew, I would love to keep up to date with the social media accounts, but your community management has blocked a large portion of the community who aren't even banned from the game....
"This update is gonna trial a new processing internally, providing longer time and focus for our internal testing, and additional hardening with Insiders to give it more quality focus than before" Didn't _last month's_ SoT News say you guys were doing this? You made a big promise that you'd pay more attention and give more care to testing, and that you were extremely unhappy with the September patch's release state, only to give us what is most definitely the worst state of a content release that this game has ever seen? (If you can even call it a content release now that over half of it is disabled) I know part (more likely half at this point) of Drew's job here is to save face for the dev team, but at this rate I'm not sure people are gonna be accepting his apologies anymore when every patch seems to be in a worse state than the last.
It's not about whether its been in games forever Its about whether it wouldve been a necessary feature before now Lego games have been around for ages, but I don't see the funny little lego man crouching in them
@@plungy there are insider servers, where the community tests all these features weeks or even months in advance. Rare just won't listen to ANY feedback they get there. Its been like this for years now and a lot of insider tester ask the question, whats it even for if nobody listens to feedback.
This game is good but holy hell. I have never seen a game soo buggy in my life. Even since launch, I don't think there has been a stable version. Get your stuff together
@@aithemed Star Citizen aint even that buggy imo. Like yeah it kinda has its quirks like I have seen AI ships all spawn upside down but I was playing Elite Dangerous for a couple hundred hours and I had more crashes in Elite than I did Star Citizen lmao.

However at the beginning the promise was: "We will space out the updates from 1 month to 3 months so that it is BIGGER and more accomplished".🤔 No update has been released in perfect condition, always problems. The invincibility is why they are patching. Which most users won't even be using within the time it takes for them to fix it. So it's mostly removing it for the sake of 1% of bad actors. Which, to me, is unreasonable.
I disagree quick swap is just OP. Funny they can't seem to fix it, but quick swap is just too broken to keep around. To be able to 2-tap in seconds isn't fair. Sword launching, I don't mind though.
Honestly this is embarrassing, I’ve been giving Rare the benefit of the doubt for so long. But this season is my breaking point. How do you drop the ball this badly, with almost every headline feature either being too broken to implement or being incredibly buggy. Even the goddamn new clothing set is glitched. You guys have lost control of your game. BRING BACK THE MONTHLY UPDATES!!!
Here is an idea. Stop making "insiders" a little secret club. Let people make RUclips videos about what's in it. Let people talk about it. Then more people will play it and find this stuff before it goes live. I honestly don't get why you guys are so weird about a test server. You can say that just because its in the test server does not mean it will reach the game...
it doesn't matter how public they make it since insider feedback is regularly ignored. several bugs i have reported have made it to live dozens of times. several bugs reported by friends have made it to live as well. the invincibility bug they're doing maintenance to patch was found and reported over a month ago.

@@gamilith bugs are acted-on and seen based on a high number of reoccurring reports.. Your single report will never be passed along in singularity. Unless it was reported heavily from insiders, it wouldn't be found.
@@OneMor3Win i don't think you understand how insiders works so i'll enlightening you. bugs aren't reported on insider the same way they are on the live servers. you make a formum post for bugs you find and attach a support ticket for clips/evidence. all insiders see these post for "further testing". I'd also like to add that the bugs i have personally reported and my friends aswell were also posted to twitter and the community managers were tagged in these posts. you can't tell me nobody saw them when they obviously did. they just didn't care to fix them until they were found on live servers and the game looked like a shitshow.
Problems with features no one asked for...lol. How about significantly improving the base game with New Player Ships, New PvE encounters beyond Megalodon, Skelly Ships, and Kraken, New Islands with different loot opportunities (think Sea Forts but something new), New earnable cosmetics earned through Tall Tale-like content (curses, ship items), New Ship Customizations such as different types of masts, wheel and capstone placement, cannon placement, Solo Sloopers should be able to hire a NPC to assign tasks like (fishing, repair, man the cannons, defend from boarders, etc. How about something worthwhile to spend gold on. These are just off the top of my head and are more than you've done to the base game in years!

Last time "we were really unhappy about the launch of our last big update" This time "we are really unhappy about the launch of our last big update." This was my fourth time coming back to this game hoping things changed. Time to jump ship boys the ship is 10,000 leagues under.
It’s an amazing game and I think season 14 is a great update, but in the span of 5 days we have pretty much lost over half of the content of this update. Rare needs to figure out this seasonal launch schedule. Season 11 brought bugs. Season 12 brought bugs. Season 13 brought like 15 billion coins into the economy via exploits and now this. Even if we have to wait four months, I’d rather do that than play a buggy mess with quick swapping invincible dudes running around. Or maybe they should consider FAIR INSIDER TESTING. I had a friend that went on insiders, found a bug, reported it and got removed from the program. The only thing anyone on insiders does is sit afk at an outpost for an hour to get their weekly rewards. It’s ridiculous and there’s no point. Anyways, you guys at rare really need to rethink this system, because it clearly doesn’t work.
Honesty the blow dart gun is better for anti-ladder then the blunder. They broke the blunder, the one shot wasn't that big of a deal, but the spread and knock back end up placing people on your ship more than knocking them away. Only time before they nerf the blow gun too, anything to mess with the people who solo. Used to be pro with blunder now it's pretty useless. I was seriously hoping they could remove quick swapping entirely, but seeing as though this glitch can never be fixed it only has me worried now that there are new weapons they will always carry glitches too and constantly be nerfed and messed with.

I understand how hard game development is especially for a game as complex as sot all don’t focus on all of the hate from the community all you can do is try and balance making the game fun while still having good quality and the rare team is doing the best that can and I am very excited for the next update
This is why it's important to spend more then 5 minutes quality testing new features. And actually listen to the people on insider's instead of mass deleting their comments and plugging your ears.
Every season there is something, crouching is literally a basic function every other game has had but somehow it becomes game breaking when sea of thieves does it. Happy black ops 6 comes out this week to fulfill my gaming needs.
At least we still have the blowdarts and the grapplegun; these are easily my favorite parts of the seasonal update anyway. They make the game so fast paced and awesome.
How many times we will be getting these apologies and reassurances it will get better? I respect the communication but technical state of the game haven't changed for many months. Constant PS5 crashes are on daily basis since I bought the game in May
The harpoon gun needs to be a tool like the shovel with unlimited uses. You retrieve the harpoon every time you use it, that’s what it’s all about. It being a weapon, having ammo is absurd.

I have no idea what this guy is smoking, they literally said in the season update video that attempting to harpoon or pickup a disguise chest will break the disguise

I honestly don’t think that will do much. It won’t magically start preventing glitches and NDAs are there for a reason. Taking the NDA away will most likely cause a lot of toxicity and never get to the root problem.
Anyone can sign up for Insiders. I'm ok leaving the NDA in place, BUT they need to improve the ability to translate content testing, to forum discussions, to better visibility on fixes.

Please make the harpoon gun work just like the harpoon on the boats, not a Batman grapple gun. Make it so you can reel yourself in or lock in place to water ski behind a boat, reel yourself up a cliff or even lock a running player in place if you hit them (or maybe just make it work like they broke their legs) to stop them from say selling loot so my mate can come in and get them. This would fix not only the functional side of the harpoon gun, but also the thematic, because it makes more sense for pirates to have this actual harpoon gun and not a grapple.
*Sigh* yea, sadly. I'm sure once they are actually in, they will find another glitch and remove them again. Always Exploits in this game sadly. I feel the traps are going to be very OP. Imagine camping a ship and trapping the Hell out of it. Or even trapping your ladders to keep people off. Guess we will have to wait and see how they function, but traps seem like a big TROLL toxic item. I want them but I can see them being abusive.
I always appreciate transparency and that game dev is difficult. However, wasn’t it only a few seasons ago you said on camera that you weren’t happy with buggy releases and that you were working on making sure things improve? Yet this is the worst launch in a long time.
They lack the credibility for any of their transparency to hold any form of validity. Because of that, you shouldn't be thankful for any of their ukulele-playing apathetic apologies.
Say all you want, most devs could release an update 10x worse and have zero communication with the team players. Rare is definitely one of the more thoughtful devs

harpoon gun is insane at boarding (you can pin top deck, not just ladders. Meaning you can cannon launch and then harpoon deck. At least the current range needs proper timing, but still easy to learn) Solo is nightmare mode now. Any crew launching near your ship, with harpoon gun equipped, is almost guaranteed to board. Also, we don't have traps to help defend.
damn my comment on season 14 preview video aged like fine wine. 95 percent of the "seasons content" if you want to call it that doesn't work, the weapons dropped serve almost 0 practical purpose besides com grinding..and we still don't have the cof in the right spot. At some point there needs to be a serious look at QQ here. it's been years of this over and over, content gets released while the game is barely in a working state as is. We're worried about people switching weapons .3 seconds faster than usual when the sword stopping power still hits like a truck, and having more than 4 pirates near each other breaks the game at least we have the emporium updates tho

To disable flagship features at season launch shows that not only was the season not ready but it was *known* by the team that it wasn't ready. That's not an accident. That's like serving an undercooked meal, knowing it's an undercooked meal, then saying you're going to withhold certain foods until you can ensure the cooks prepare it properly. Who's inspecting the meals before they go out, if not designated kitchen staff? Insiders shouldn't be the ones. Insiders is more like testing the seasoning, flavor profiles, and plating to make sure the dish is as refined as possible, not to eat undercooked food. You understand why some of us find it to be a broken record when we hear the "we're committed to doing better" statements, yet keep getting broken seasons that prompt a "we messed up" speech.

the grapple gun has no range for even land movement it cant land on a ship unless its from falling and it basically is a overhyped tool that can only harpoon a chest to your hand but only if you are close enough to spit on the chest, blowpipe is quite good though 😂

Stop with the seasons thing and go back to sending smaller updates regularly when they are really ready and stable. Instead of big pack of content every 3 months and nothing in between, go with smaller content updates every month. They can't handle updates even in 3 months. First, it is released with problems, cut down, and then generally downgraded. And you want them to release updates earlier. Making an upgrade is not as simple as repainting an old ship skin and selling it to players again.

Its obviously more than switching one value from 0 to 1 and after that many years of degradation inside servers and hitreg that was "fixed" like 50x already, so we can safely assume they dont know how to fix it or cant within a time and budget, so game is running while being ductaped, even if contentwise they are probably around limit.

The main thing is that you don't mind that Hourglass is unplayable because it's full of cheaters. Not a single cheat that cheaters used throughout season 13 has been removed and even cheaters have new cheats like throwing knives that throw 2 at once and kill you instantly. I find it funny that you are upset that quickswap has been restored or that aircontrol goes with crouching, but there was no mention of cheats, which are 100x worse.
But that's why hourglass exists. All the cheaters and sweats end up hourglassing so the actual game itself can survive.

So 7 main things were supposed to come to Season 14. Traps, crouching, disguises, hanging off ship, blowdarts, merfruit, and the harpoon gun. It's been 5 days, and 4 of those 7 things are now "temporarily disabled". What a great start to the season👍
Until everything is removed :D. I played with the Blowpipe and i got some issues while trying to reload ammo by using the ammo the skeletons drops on the ground. Sometimes, it refill everything and sometimes not. I don't know if it is intended or not but it seems to be only me.
I can't understand planning such changes to the game and not having it thoroughly prepared. And mainly talk about how you have a dedicated team of people who take care of the problem with cheaters, and then one day after the start of season 14, the cheaters already have all the cheats they had the whole time and not a single one has been removed. You try to save the situation with these videos where you say something, but a normal person can't even believe that after all that.
every new season, something makes it into the game that makes us ask, "Did anyone actually play test this before it went live?"
Oh and don't forget how this season came out a week early too! This puppy was ready to come out the oven early in rares opinion! At least the plunder pass and the new emporium items work as intended. The game may not function at all but THANK THE GODS I can buy my microtransactions.

Laughing at the dumpster fire that is sot development is more fun than than playing the game right now. While a rollback is probably the best possible move here, it's truly breathtaking how badly executed every update to the game is - every new function added comes with horrendous bugs or breaks other connected systems, and/or systems you would think are completely decoupled from an update somehow get broken (shark spawns for example).
Is it a version control issue? Is it a no-one-is-actually-testing-while-they're-programming issue? We know insiders feedback goes completely ignored - is it all of the above? When is the root issue going to be addressed instead of this endless game of apologies and months-late corrections?

man, i miss the times where updates were teased ingame with little changes over multiple updates. Small events that introduced new gameplay mechanics which came together in a bigger update nobody knew about. Now we get a showcase of things that might come in about a year and we still need to hope that they wont break everything.
And what about the grappling gun? You showed the world you wanted that, so you kinda needed to release it, contrary to what the insiders said that it would destroy the game. Now we have an overcomplicated ruleset of a weapon with its only function to save some time in a tall tale. Exactly what the game needed.. /s
Exactly. It's obvious that their main concern is money. Corporate greed is everywhere and they shouldn't try to pull the wool over people's eyes. By separating the plunder pass from the whole seasonal updates model, they'd still get their money whilst giving themselves more opportunities to sort their game out, and scaling back updates to small, monthly updates that only add a few features. Features that have actually been play tested.

you guys have been making the same mistake for years. you dont allow insiders to even test the coming updates. you give them 1 feature at a time to test and even then fail to properly test that content.
1. you need to lift the NDA on insiders so streamers can stream the coming updates. this will do multiple things... most important it will allow screen recording and give you loads of video footage of bugs happening so you can trouble shoot. Streamers LOVE to goof around in game and do things outside the box from how the developers intend for features to work.
2. having a fuller feature set available on your internal build and you playing internally on a different build than insiders are even playing is creating a disconnect where insiders are like "oh hey X, X, and X isnt working...... oh well thats just cause youre not on OUR build..
this game has a 7 year history of mismanagement. as much as i love everyone on the team you guys gotta own it when the guys on top who are supposed to be managing all this are not doing it well.
Imagine if Rare implemented testing servers where people could test the new content before it gets released to find bugs etc.

I know you said you appreciate our patience, but for some of us that patience has its limits. My wife hasn't played for over a month now due to poor game performance/bugs with last season. And after i saw how this season launched, i haven't touched the game either. I've no doubt I'll play if everything gets fixed, BUT this will be the first season in a long time where i don't buy your plunder pass or spend any money in your emporium. And I won't spend my money in this game this season even IF you manage to fix everything. I don't intend to be rude or toxic, but my money goes to support games that have earned it. And to be fair, RARE hasn't earned it for this season. And I've probably been TOO generous with supporting this game in past seasons through some pretty egregious issues with the game.
I love you all RARE, and this game is by far my favorite game nowadays. Hope you all can pull it together someday.

You made a big promise that you'd pay more attention and give more care to testing, and that you were extremely unhappy with the September patch's release state, only to give us what is most definitely the worst state of a content release that this game has ever seen? (If you can even call it a content release now that over half of it is disabled) I know part (more likely half at this point) of Drew's job here is to save face for the dev team, but at this rate I'm not sure people are gonna be accepting his apologies anymore when every patch seems to be in a worse state than the last.

The invincibility is why they are patching. Which most users won't even be using within the time it takes for them to fix it. So it's mostly removing it for the sake of 1% of bad actors. Which, to me, is unreasonable.

it doesn't matter how public they make it since insider feedback is regularly ignored. several bugs i have reported have made it to live dozens of times. several bugs reported by friends have made it to live as well. the invincibility bug they're doing maintenance to patch was found and reported over a month ago.

I'd also like to add that the bugs i have personally reported and my friends aswell were also posted to twitter and the community managers were tagged in these posts. you can't tell me nobody saw them when they obviously did. they just didn't care to fix them until they were found on live servers and the game looked like a shitshow.

Problems with features no one asked for...lol. How about significantly improving the base game with New Player Ships, New PvE encounters beyond Megalodon, Skelly Ships, and Kraken, New Islands with different loot opportunities (think Sea Forts but something new), New earnable cosmetics earned through Tall Tale-like content (curses, ship items), New Ship Customizations such as different types of masts, wheel and capstone placement, cannon placement, Solo Sloopers should be able to hire a NPC to assign tasks like (fishing, repair, man the cannons, defend from boarders, etc. How about something worthwhile to spend gold on. These are just off the top of my head and are more than you've done to the base game in years!

It’s an amazing game and I think season 14 is a great update, but in the span of 5 days we have pretty much lost over half of the content of this update. Rare needs to figure out this seasonal launch schedule. Season 11 brought bugs. Season 12 brought bugs. Season 13 brought like 15 billion coins into the economy via exploits and now this.
Even if we have to wait four months, I’d rather do that than play a buggy mess with quick swapping invincible dudes running around. Or maybe they should consider FAIR INSIDER TESTING. I had a friend that went on insiders, found a bug, reported it and got removed from the program. The only thing anyone on insiders does is sit afk at an outpost for an hour to get their weekly rewards. It’s ridiculous and there’s no point.
Anyways, you guys at rare really need to rethink this system, because it clearly doesn’t work.

Honesty the blow dart gun is better for anti-ladder then the blunder. They broke the blunder, the one shot wasn't that big of a deal, but the spread and knock back end up placing people on your ship more than knocking them away. Only time before they nerf the blow gun too, anything to mess with the people who solo. Used to be pro with blunder now it's pretty useless. I was seriously hoping they could remove quick swapping entirely, but seeing as though this glitch can never be fixed it only has me worried now that there are new weapons they will always carry glitches too and constantly be nerfed and messed with.

@@WaywardReywerd but they do 2 versions of one shoot, one you OS realy melee, the other u can OS mid range, and this second was realy trash (i think that have come around s10). they haved a balance game early saisons, they wants news but they just destroy old good things.
What if we just experience the bugs and glitches, so that we, the community allow a larger crowd for feedback, to allow you guys to fix the issues more quickly?
I understand how hard game development is especially for a game as complex as sot all don’t focus on all of the hate from the community all you can do is try and balance making the game fun while still having good quality and the rare team is doing the best that can and I am very excited for the next update

This is why it's important to spend more then 5 minutes quality testing new features. And actually listen to the people on insider's instead of mass deleting their comments and plugging your ears.
Every season there is something, crouching is literally a basic function every other game has had but somehow it becomes game breaking when sea of thieves does it. Happy black ops 6 comes out this week to fulfill my gaming needs.

At least we still have the blowdarts and the grapplegun; these are easily my favorite parts of the seasonal update anyway. They make the game so fast paced and awesome.

How many times we will be getting these apologies and reassurances it will get better? I respect the communication but technical state of the game haven't changed for many months. Constant PS5 crashes are on daily basis since I bought the game in May

The harpoon gun needs to be a tool like the shovel with unlimited uses. You retrieve the harpoon every time you use it, that’s what it’s all about. It being a weapon, having ammo is absurd.
I dont mind it being a weapon, but the short range and only 5 rounds kills it.
This is what happens when you ban your fans for trying to make the game better.

this wasnt just one persons fault. this was an absolute blunder of massive proportions, falling upon the entire team. not just one person gets all the blame, you all blundered
Instead of bannig the people who are good at finding the bugs, maybe hire them instead?
Are the disguises even worth it if they can't be moved about by other players? Or float in water? Or be harpooned?
Disguises de-agro pve. It has it's usage. And they are supposed to be harpoonable/able to be picked up. That functionality was just bugged.

They didn't implement/scrapped it also due to a bug? What a damn shame, thats what i thought was the coolest about hiding in a chest. Letting other crews bring you onboard.
@@Neurofen It's not scrapped. Just bugged. It will be fixed. For not, crouching is temporarily removed till it's fixed.

I honestly don’t think that will do much. It won’t magically start preventing glitches and NDAs are there for a reason. Taking the NDA away will most likely cause a lot of toxicity and never get to the root problem.

I'm ok leaving the NDA in place, BUT they need to improve the ability to translate content testing, to forum discussions, to better visibility on fixes.

Please make the harpoon gun work just like the harpoon on the boats, not a Batman grapple gun. Make it so you can reel yourself in or lock in place to water ski behind a boat, reel yourself up a cliff or even lock a running player in place if you hit them (or maybe just make it work like they broke their legs) to stop them from say selling loot so my mate can come in and get them. This would fix not only the functional side of the harpoon gun, but also the thematic, because it makes more sense for pirates to have this actual harpoon gun and not a grapple.

*Sigh* yea, sadly. I'm sure once they are actually in, they will find another glitch and remove them again. Always Exploits in this game sadly. I feel the traps are going to be very OP. Imagine camping a ship and trapping the Hell out of it. Or even trapping your ladders to keep people off. Guess we will have to wait and see how they function, but traps seem like a big TROLL toxic item. I want them but I can see them being abusive.

I always appreciate transparency and that game dev is difficult. However, wasn’t it only a few seasons ago you said on camera that you weren’t happy with buggy releases and that you were working on making sure things improve? Yet this is the worst launch in a long time.
They lack the credibility for any of their transparency to hold any form of validity. Because of that, you shouldn't be thankful for any of their ukulele-playing apathetic apologies.

I don't think so.
harpoon gun is insane at boarding (you can pin top deck, not just ladders. Meaning you can cannon launch and then harpoon deck. At least the current range needs proper timing, but still easy to learn) Solo is nightmare mode now. Any crew launching near your ship, with harpoon gun equipped, is almost guaranteed to board. Also, we don't have traps to help defend.
damn my comment on season 14 preview video aged like fine wine. 95 percent of the "seasons content" if you want to call it that doesn't work, the weapons dropped serve almost 0 practical purpose besides com grinding..and we still don't have the cof in the right spot.
At some point there needs to be a serious look at QQ here. it's been years of this over and over, content gets released while the game is barely in a working state as is. We're worried about people switching weapons .3 seconds faster than usual when the sword stopping power still hits like a truck, and having more than 4 pirates near each other breaks the game
at least we have the emporium updates tho
