I loved this episode because I can relate. I was 18 entering community college I had won over 8k in scholarships out of high school and finished a summer internship where they paid me 2k. My bank account was new at the time so I wasn't really checking it like that but I knew a good amount of scholarships were in there. I go to the financial department to check if my refund check came that semester and they said it should have arrived. I call my dad who I lived with asking if he saw a refund check in the mail. He said "Yea, I spent it." Long story short he spent my refund and all the money in my account. We fought that day and he put me in the hospital. I'd like to say he stopped taking money from me at the time but he didn't. Honestly after 5 years I don't remember exactly how much he owe me but it's more than 10k I know that.
Today our relationship despite the abuse has never been stronger tho I want to end on a positive note because I realized it happened for a reason and who am I to think I'm exempt from having the same fate as Job in the Bible? He ended up with 7x more money than was stolen so I see it now as a blessing my dad stole from me.

I cried because I take care of my mother who had an aneurysm and stroke and now has dementia too. Soooo I'm sooo angry for you. But you did right, the way God gone keep blessing you just stay ready. I needed this podcast. I found a tribe lol.

I really enjoyed epsiodes 1 & 2 of this podcast. Struggled with this episode coz the guests wouldn't let Sydney tell the story. At times they were funny but mostly interrupting without adding value. The concept for this pod is great but the key is having the right guests. Looking forward to episode 4.

It’s so crazy reliving situations through storytelling. Those same feelings and emotions always come back up. You did the right thing for your mom. As for the cousin and uncle… oh they wouldn’t be in me & my mom’s life. If you can lie to me about stealing from my mom you obviously don’t love me of fwm but I think you handled the situation better than most people would have. So kudos to you for having God with you.

Thank you for your story. I have been in situations like that. I've had thoughts of revenge that would have put me in jail and I decided to "let go and let GOD." I have shown the karma that has happened to people who've done me wrong and that keeps me from wanting vengeance.
Thank you to your guests who said what they said because i needed to hear it too. I often tell people the same thing to let GOD handle it, but just like when I tell someone i love them, I need to hear it said to me as well.

If I can offer a little feedback, I feel the guests were just trying a little too hard to make things funny in the beginning but glad things leveled out towards the end. I love the fact that Syd is invested in his mental health and is very mindful of it. Learning a lot on how to appreciate self and take care of you and protect you. This was an interesting change up from the last 2 episodes. Syd had his story, and his guests were talking but this was like watching three friends have a conversation.
