    3:55 - 4:00 "For the office, need the num pad."
    For what it's worth, I work as an Engineer in the automotive industry and use excel almost daily and I have done just fine with my 60% Anne Pro II. If I really needed it, I'd opt for a separate wireless num pad.
    IMO, in an office environment. 8 hours a day. I prefer good ergonomics which means keeping the wrists closer together, so yes, TKL would be my preference

    • @Jack-yv3po
      @Jack-yv3po 4 года назад

      Most of the time, ergonomics don't factor in when comparing a Full size vs a TKL & Numpad - When you aren't using the numpad on your Full Size, your wrists are in exactly the same place as if you were using a TKL & vice versa, when using your wireless numpad your wrists are likely in the same place as if you were using your full size's numpad.
      If you want your wrists closer together, you need a more compact keyboard layout, not just a keyboard with one side cut off!

    Coming from the MX master 3, the differences in spec are: Mx master three has a much longer battery life, USB C, more buttons, significantly higher spec sensor for anyone who actually cares about using a mouse on glass or something, better software, can connect to more devices at once and switch between with via button on bottom, and a magnetic scroll wheel with multiple modes. The Razor on the other hand is slightly smaller and a better fit for those with smaller hands, has less of a right sided curve than the Logitech, and is a good deal lighter due to high plastic content.

    On the matter of the lack of USB-C on the Pro Click mouse, a Razer rep had this to say on the MouseReview reddit:
    www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/idc0sa/razer_pro_click_logitech_mx_master_alternative/g27zxkj/
    *I quote:*
    "It's a deep rabbit hole, really.
    If there is a "wired mode" available for the mouse, then cables need to use custom molding that locks perfectly - because the plastic mold needs to be the stress bearing part during movement for reliability reasons, it absolutely can not be the metal contacts (which will loosen within a couple hundred hours of use and then cause disconnections). Even if it was USB-C, it would have to be a custom-mold for reliability.
    Picking between micro-usb and USB-C - micro-usb is a smaller connector (because of more lax USB-IF requirements and no reversibility), so it doesn't require such a big gaping hole in the front of the mouse."

      Seriously, 2020 Razer mouse with a micro-USB port?

    • @soulfabuk
      @soulfabuk 3 года назад

      @@thesmartI On Reddit, a staffer from Razer stated that micro USB was chosen for the mouse as the user may need to use it wired and micro USB is stronger than USB C for a connector that attaches to a moving object. Obviously this is not a consideration for a keyboard as they don't tend to move even if wired.
      Makes some sense from an engineering point of view but damn annoying for a user / owner.

    I'm using MX Keys and MX Master 3 for work. Here are the comparisons I made after seeing a few reviews:
    Mouse:
    The Razor Pro Click mouse is comparable to MX Master 3 in terms of battery life, multiple connections, ergonomics. However, the new Razer mouse does not have quick charge which MX Master 3 does have, which is kind of a bummer. It also does not have as many button functionalities as the MX mouse (vertical scroll, Windows/Control action button, rattling/free scroll switch button). Nevertheless, it's a good 1st version of the mouse or the first clone, since MX Master 3 has been iterated many times to correct many of its past issues.
    Keyboard:
    As for the Razer Pro Type, man what a disappointment compared to the MX Keys, even though the Logitech keyboard is way cheaper. Horrible battery life, even when turning off LED backlit. The MX Keys has sensors underneath its keys, so it only lights up when the sensor detects movement on it, which is neat and very battery efficient. The MX Keys uses membrane keyswitch?, which is acceptable in work environment, and should even be recommended, because mechanical keyboard is so loud, even when marketed as "silent", which it is not. I have the Razer BlackWidow Elite with Orange Switch for the home PC and it is loud, which is fine because no one in the office will get to hear its sound. Furthermore, MX Keys membrane keyboard is low profile and engineered so well that I enjoy typing it much more than most mechanical keyboards. Maybe Razer should research more on productivity keyboards before making this keyboard, pricing it at $140 and marketing it as for "productivity" because as an office worker, I would never ever buy such a keyboard. Maybe it's better off as a "novel" wireless gaming keyboard, but I doubt it will sell as much.
    Software-wise, Synapse still has a way to go to make something similar to Logitech Free Flow which allows me to retrieve and use files from multiple computers. Maybe not in a casual gaming environment, but for the office workplace, it's a convenient tool to have.
    In conclusion, wait out until Razer makes this, but with V2 or even V3 tagged behind and we will have a real Logitech productivity competitor. Right now, don't buy these.

    This is interesting. Would be much more into it if it was TKL, for sure. Question: one big feature that Logitech has is the "unifier technology", which is the support for multiple devices on a single dongle. Does Razer offer the same? I think with USB ports fading away, this is even more important.

    Update as an owner of both of these products - would not recommend. The keyboard began double typing certain letters with frustrating regularity and Razer support were useless, asking me to 'take a photo' of the problem with the keyboard, which obviously makes no sense. It's now sitting in a drawer unused.
    The mouse randomly died on me one day - turns out it's a common issue where you have to peel off the covers on the bottom of the mouse, buy a non-regular screwdriver, take the thing apart and reconnect the battery. Made a mess of the bottom of the mouse. Now the bluetooth pairing on it doesn't work properly, so have to use 2.4.
    Both products feel nice to use and look nice, but unfortunately both seem susceptible to failure.
    EDIT: Also, the charge port/cable for the mouse is stupid. If you lose it, you'll have a hard time finding one that fits into the weird housing on the front of the mouse. Baffling decision

    For the same price as the Mx master, it just doesn’t offer enough features. The mx master has all the same buttons as razer except for the left and right scroll click, but also has a horizontal scroll, free flow scroll wheel, a thumb button, and the ability to seamlessly flow between separate computers without having to press the button on the bottom. Razer’s mouse should be priced closer to $50-$60 for what it offers.
