Some men just really don't like women and get uncomfortable regarding their health and biology. Like when my dad was alive, no one was allowed to even utter the words "period" or "menstrual cycle" because he didn't like it. My mom and sisters had to keep their products hidden because if dad saw them, he would flip out and throw a fit because he "didn't want to see them." I remember one time my sister got her period and they were out of products, she asked my dad to get some for her and just the thought of buying pads grossed him out so he straight up told her no, do it yourself. So I had to walk to the store and buy her some pads because she was too embarrassed and scared of bleeding through her pants in public, and our dad was too apathetic to help her out.
@@noway377 Sad story. The fact is, your dad was just like this boy in the story, where he was taught to hate it. In the end, he can't change it now because that's what he has been taught since childhood. This continues for generations.
When the first time my brother saw my periods stain, he thought i got hurt so he directly went to my mom and told her that i got hurt and bleeding... When my mom know what happened she told him what periods is... She told him that i will be in so much pain so he always should take care of me... This happened when he was 14 years old... Now he is 24 till now he is the one who brought me pads and he never ashamed of it... He even bought me chocolates along with it and help me doing house chores ❤
@@lordsj I have a weird habit of eating chocolates during those time only... In normal days I don't like to eat chocolates that much.. So he always brought me that and it's not that much painful...its helps me handle my mood swings😅
@@jyothirghosh8287 I am also from a upper middle class family in Kerala but no one told me about this. When I ask what's that they tell me its for gifting babies. It depends on the mindset of individuals. I came to know about in only in my 10th std biology chapter.
It's sick that we're taught to be ashamed of having periods. I used to take pride in keeping sanitary pads well hidden. I remember being really happy when a female shopkeeper helped me carefully wrap the pads in newspaper. I remember my mother and me going silent when my brother or even younger sister entered the room. Then I realised that it wasn't something to be proud of. I am a woman and I'm comfortable being woman. I taught my younger brother about periods. I stopped hiding sanitary pads. Stopped shopping for them like a thief and openly placed them on the shopping cart. Stopped looking away at sanitary products' advertisements. Stopped not entering the puja room on periods. And I'm so happy I did. I can live openly now and life has really been soo much better like this.
exactly, men/people dont get to be disgusted by periods and the female anatomy while also wanting to have kids... without periods and menstruation, there would be no humans
Everything is perfect except going to temple room during periods😃 Bcoz according to ayurveda during periods the energy of women’s body is towards earth and the energy in temples are opposite to it so it can cause harm to them And another reason, according to what a priest told me during periods a women’s body is considered too pure that if she visit a temples then the goddess which is residing in that idol will start to reside in that girl’s body So that’s why female are told to not to enter temples 🛕
And periods are a simple biological thing it’s nothing which should be kept hidden especially from boys so that boys can also understand the pain a female goes through so that atleast they can understand them and comfort them😇
@@user-mi5er1il2s Exactly! I educated my younger brother (almost 9 years old) about periods. My friend has a brother whose probably 13 and she told me her brother had no idea about periods. No idea whatsoever. Everyone in my friend circle finds me weird when I tell them my dad and brother both know about my periods just as well as my mom and sis. Well, "So long as I am in the right, others around me have to change, not I."
I remember how a girl got her periods , she was unaware standing in metro ... I was out of words how to tell her without making her embarrasse then I got up from my place and asked her to sit , she was standing their for her stoppage she replied but as soon as I told her its needed , she got me but I took off my hoodie from bag & told her " its ok ! Nothing's to be worries about just wrap it around you " ... She smiles and thanked me ... I'm sharing this not for flex of being gentleman thing or kinda ... I have taught my younger brother everything about periods and have also normalised PERIODS so much at home so guys be the change and start the progress ✨🌼
@thezoldics7648but no one except fake feminists said boys should feel guilty of not having periods. Why are you crying here? She simply said she taught her brothers. Why are you so triggered on this?
@thezoldics7648 it's not about hyping something which is very common like periods. people just need to learn to normalise a normal thing and so do you.
@thezoldics7648 it's not hype , it's a part of education about our body and health. Nobody is making boys or men guilty over this , think before commenting 🙄😮💨
@thezoldics7648 that's the point of ad. Periods is normal so people shouldn't treat it as something shameful. It wasn't guilt tripping to men. But to spread awareness about it. That it isn't something different. Every woman has this.
@thezoldics7648 periods are not dirty. Pregnancy is much dirtier but it is the same process caused your birth. So don't be disgusted to natural things. With that logic your seman is also dirty.
I was born in India but i am studying in Singapore. In Singapore periods are normalized. Even male teachers do not hesitate to talk about this. Even young boys at the age of 12 know about this and do not laugh about it. Instead they would try to help us out.
And now its starts A man killed her own 12 year old sis just because she got her first periods the man thought that she was having an affair Although he didn't knew about what is periods This is our education system is Rip to that innocent soul❤
We need to normalise talking about periods. It’s a natural process. We need to be comfortable to be there for our sisters, friends, partners when they go through it.
@@saanvieeexrave There are a lot of natural processes about which we don't talk to young boys when they are so young. In order to explain periods a boy first know what is a vagina, what is ovary & how does ovulation happens. If you try explain that boys would figure out a lot of sexual stuff in matter of weeks. That's not good for growth of boys at such young age. You will never hear any psychologist or a doctor ever recommending such things, only unscientific weirdos suggest such things. So if you have son or young bother, don't do it just because some ad suggest you to do so.
When i was 11 i got gossiped and teased by other girls for trynna educate my male classmates about periods and pads. They did this and KEPT MENTIONING it till 8th-9th grade.. as if it was a big mistake. Some teachers also frowned at me for it. Then suddenly in 10th grade, everybody is sooooooo chill about it Ye nobody remembers what they did but ye! I'm glad its changing now!❤❤❤
Me too they literally thought I told them about sex Ugh 😤 later on I clarified it to everyone that it’s normal and supported every girl who got them 💪💪more power to you keep educating
@SoldierofGod121the irony in your statement 😂 they got to know it 'eventually' thanks to OP. You're the type of people/the very reason kids got delayed in such basic biological knowledge in such important age. "Someone else will tell them later, not you or me. Leave it be." What backward thinking is that? You must not have any female family members or is still single to this day.
I live in a modern society. I study in a private school. So few days before we had P.E period after winning the race the other winner was complaining to sir about stomachache so I loudly you must have gotten your periods The whole class was standingeven the boys. Some of the boys cackled. She felt uncomfortable. So infront the P.E sir I said to the boys " So what's wrong when she has gotten her periods?" The boys were silent. The sir was impressed and toke me to the principal's office for my bravery. The principal's sir said that will give speech on periods in the assembly tomorrow. I was ecstatic and I wanted tell this to the whole world.❤
It's true that this is not a thing to feel ashamed of but shouting to a girl in front of the class that she got her periods is also not right. Every one is not that comfortable.
@@Shupandi_The_killadi So we are going to normalise it by shouting about the period of other girls in class ? To make it this much normal first we need to educate the people. Class Mai chillana " OYEE ISKO PERIOD AAYE HAI " is not the way to normalise it.
I'm so lucky that my boyfriend understands this things when we just started dating i got my i was on my periods and i was in pain i was at college next day he secretly bought me chocolates and some snacks for me and also help me with my bag ,now it's a monthly routine for him to help me during my periods. when i asked him he said "i have a sister and a mother so i understand, u don't have to be ashamed about this things it's normal ok " I'm so thankful for his mother that she taught him about this things ☺️.

@@chimppower2748 6-7 is too young to learn about childbirth and mesntrual cycles, i found out around that age, i was off-put and icky because of it. a slightly higher age, like 10, is more suitable, i'd say, because children that young shouldn't be taught anything about sexual organs other than not to let anyone touch them, imo

Yeah it's kinda stigmatized in India to talk abt stuff like this. I feel like it stems from normal indian society trying to promote being respectful and not discuss topics like sex or periods or inches openly.
It’s not just Germany. In Argentina it’s the same, kids are taught in school about menstruation in like the fourth grade, both boys and girls. And it’s not taboo or weird to talk about periods, pads, tampons, etc. it’s completely normal and dropped casually in conversation, specially when women get menstruation cramps and feel sick.
It was so stigmatized in the US, at least it was twenty years ago. My mom would whisper to ask if I needed “period supplies” so I thought I couldn’t talk about it around my dad. Girls hid tampons and pads in their pockets or palms before going to the bathroom, and everything was so secretive. It’s different now, but there are so many guys that still don’t know exactly how periods work, the side effects, or what products we use that make a difference.
@@janesays1278as a teen in the us, it’s normalized, but 99% of all them male teens are such jerks and they make fun of u if ur bleeding. Like everyone knows abt it, it’s just embarrassing
Thank God for my Parents, I remember when my brother was small and Mama sent him to buy napkins… after a while he asked what’s periods and she made him understand…. There is no need of awkward silences and embarrassment for a natural phenomenon! Please talk everyone! That’s the only way forward!
@thezoldics7648 you clearly missed the point of the video. it was never to make men feel guilty for not having one. so many women feel ashamed and embarrassed for having their period and feel like they have to hide it away when it shouldn’t be like that. this video is simply teaching people to remove the stigma around periods and not shame women for having one.
@thezoldics7648 clearly you are very detached from reality if you think its normal everywhere to treat periods as natural and normal and not make it a sign of impurity and something to be embarrassed about....and no one is blaming or guilt striking men and boys, its society and its outdated rules that are being challenged here, which should be...also sanitary napkins are a necessity and menstrual hygiene is considered as a basic human right in many countries, so i don't see your point there as well, infact i think you should rather campaign for decreased taxes in menstrual hygiene products as you rightly think the companies are charging us more.
@ananyapanigrahi- but you women cannot force him to buy your stuff. It is his right not to buy it, it is his choice. Do women think "choice" is only appicable to women. Can a brother force or even say to his sister to buy condoms for him
This is a brilliant ad, no judgement, sensitively conveyed message. Very effective. Edit: on second thoughts, there is some judgment embedded in the ad. The ad is still necessary, and effective. The ad makers should use data driven research to properly target the intended audience. Many misconceptions about menstruation are unfortunately transmitted from mothers to daughters.
@tiffanyroberts6460 that seems to be a pretty annoying problem in America.. its like they think all white people in America are racist and lazy and gluttonous as if no other country has that kind of problem
@tiffanyroberts6460 In some parts of the West, ads won't even show red blood--they show a mysterious blue liquid being poured onto the napkin. There's still shame, but they pretend it's not there, which in turn makes the shame worse.
It is of utmost importance to educate your sons about menstruation. By sharing this knowledge, you are empowering them with a deeper understanding of the female reproductive system and promoting a culture of respect and support. By teaching them that menstruation is a natural process, you are breaking down the stigma surrounding it and fostering empathy and inclusivity. Equipping your sons with this information will enable them to be understanding and considerate individuals who can support and uplift menstruating individuals in their lives. It is a powerful way to contribute to their personal growth and the creation of a more inclusive and compassionate society. Stay Health Stay Happy ForSureHealth
I was also unaware about the things before it happened to me.. Periods are natural there is nothing to hide and be ashamed about it. I taught my little brother about how a girls body changes when he had that concept in his class.
What the hell? I'm someone who grew up in a household considering periods as impure. So if you don't know how it feels just shut up. Ok? This is a very crucial thing that needs to be talked about. No one is guilt tripping on men for not having periods@thezoldics7648
Seeing that girl crying hurts. The boys around her are naturally compassionate and curious, but the adults want them to be as squeamish about periods as they themselves are.
I don't think it's a problem to tell the boys about periods or for them to know about it after 7th Or 8th grade. As the topic is already discussed in their biology books. But the thing that is needed to make them understand it's a NORMAL cycle of female body. It's nothing to be ashamed of.
Periods being from age of 10 that's 4th grade. In order to explain periods a boy first know what is a vagina, what is ovary & how does ovulation happens. If you try explain that boys would figure out a lot of sexual stuff in matter of weeks. That's not good for growth of boys at such young age. Ask girls not to be ashamed. Boys will figure it out on their own when it's time.
@thezoldics7648 Bro, stop being a man-child. It's all part of basic ethical principles that should be followed by every person. The fact is periods are still considered a taboo in Indian society and trust me boys do make fun of girls for having periods. As a man I understand what kind of effects a human female body has to go through, there are hormonal changes, body ache and more. If girls make fun of boys mental health ( men's suicide rates), how would you feel about that?
Once I was talking with my mother about bra panty period and all and then suddenly my nana(my maternal grandfather) came and then I stop talking out of embarrassment or because of me being uncomfortable...he understoods it he didn't say anything but after few mins he came to me and said you can share or talk anything to me I took your mother for undergarments shopping before marriage you can also share me with anything I am your father or friend or whatever. We have done a lot of wrong and supported myths as a society - even barring women with periods from entering places and taking part in activities. Let's change it.
I taught both my boys and they are comfortable enough to come and ask me questions. It is such an important topic to discuss with your kids regardless of gender.
This applies to so many topics--you want your kids to feel comfortable to talk to you, no matter the subject. Building that safe space is so important when you're a parent/caregiver.
What a great advert. We never talked of periods really I had to keep anything out of sight. Then I met my husband . He used to help as I had heavy periods 😢 I was embarrassed but he just helped me. Made sure I had something to change into. 😊❤
Even in schools, whenever the teachers used to arrange an awareness programme or something regarding periods. It was only the girl students which were called in auditorium. The boys were left as such. The students must have thought that periods is something which should not be even discussed among boys.
My Grandpa cared for me and my mom during period days (He had went to heaven now🤍). My step dad (who also have a daughter aka my sis) also cared for us without hesitation. Could be due to him being a doctor.❤
My husband and I watching TV, came across a kotex add where they were using red liquid instead of the blue which was the norm for many years. He said "ew that's weird. I preferred when it was blue". I said "is women are sick and tired of being embarrassed about what happens to our bodies every month". He had a look of profound awakening.

It's important to understand that's Periods are normal and there's nothing to be shameful about it. @@soumyadipmukherjee6627 Yes, but at that point they're already basically adults. Girls get their periods at various ages but usually 8-14. My school taught it in 7th grade, and all of the girls laughed because almost everyone in our class had already gotten their period at that point. We were like...a little too late, school. It's useless to teach these things after they happen tbh. It should be taught before the ages it usually happens so girls arent scared when it happens, and boys dont get scared or tease them when they see a girl have blood on their pants.

When society teaches men to “respect” women, they mean not to harass or assault them. Well, its not "just" a period. Its painful and gets your mood into a rollercoaster. I think the motto needs to be thought a bit more. But its a great beginning.
As an American, I knew that some other cultures make women and girls feel unnecessary shame over a normal physiologic process. But before I saw this commercial, it didn't occur to me how it would also involve scolding and confusing young boys who are just asking normal questions, and sometimes expressing sincere concern that a female they care about is ill or injured. It's cruel to ALL of the kids to treat menstruation this way.
I’m an American and my father made it clear what an inconvenience it was, whether it was about needing supplies or more frequent trips to bathroom… and my brothers kept trying look at my body in the bathroom when I was on it. Some people area just awful and shouldn’t be allowed to raise children.
Not only sons, but parents, teachers and elders should be taught about the periods who don't understand it's just the natural and biological thing and not the taboo.
Your actually doing a disservice to your sons by not telling them! How are they supposed to support the women in their lives if they don’t know anything about what they go through? Really lovely video
I used to hate to talk about it. And then there is this friend he has a sister. When he realized I was having a bad day and with all my mood changes his first question was “is it period “ and i was shocked . I just nodded and ever since then even though I don’t say it loud I use another term whenever my mood changes or I’m having a bad day and he asks me what’s wrong. “The monthly devil.” ❤

To all moms with sons - pl educate your sons to handle periods so they can become mature understanding men. I discussed very openly with my son about periods when he was 10 years old. When he was 12 years old, he one day saw a girl hiding in the girls bathroom. He went up to the entrance n asked her if she wants anything. She asked him to fetch the class teacher. He understood the problem, went to the school nurse n asked for a sanitary pad which he delivered to the girl. His reasoning was that if the class teacher left the class then everyone would ask questions which would embarrass the girl even further. The nurse, the girls as well as the teachers were all praise for him. All girls told me that they wish other moms also educated their sons in same manner. I forgot to mention, my son is an only child. But he gained 26 sisters in one day when the girl shared this story with her classmates.😊
Im from Scotland and I can remember trying to unwrap sanitary pads as quickly and quietly as possible in high school. Scotland has come a very long way and now we have FREE period products for people who need them. Having a vagina is definitely not something anyone should be made to feel ashamed of! @thezoldics7648that’s the problem. it IS normal but people treat it as something to be ashamed of. and they’re not guilt tripping guys. they’re showing how poor parenting and societal views on periods will affect both boys and girls. media literacy is important…

I guess these adds and social media had helped in a certain way. These days in offices and even colleges boys and men try to help girls on periods. Which was not the same earlier. Caring is a sign of a true gentleman
My elder brother was a pcb student and I had pcod so we used to openly talk abt it,in fact he would legit explain how those contraceptive pills actually also treat pcod if taken right as per consultation of doctor. I used to hesitate as a teenager, but it was my mom who taught me not to be ashamed of it,I can talk freely abt it with my dad and brother and so can they with me. They both have always been concerned abt my situation and advise me whenever I start eating junk.My mom taught me not to cover pads while purchasing them as its normal, we can't blame boys for this, its the ladies of the house who need to start speaking abt it. ITS JUST A PERIOD.
The boy was just letting the girl know and being polite, he didn’t have to be scolded, even after he let her know, she covered it up so no one would see.
My brother asks my mom “is it that time of the month?” Sometimes because he is, and I quote, “annoying her the usual amount but she’s getting more annoyed than usual”
Oh yes. I still remember how my mom would scold me if I'd forgotten to throw away my used pads after school (cause I was so tired) and how she'd teach me to dispose of them so they wouldn't smell or even taken as pads, just so my dad wouldn't know I was on my period. Her reasoning? He mustn't know. She still thinks this way, and we even close the door when we discuss our health and gynecology stuff, it gets me so mad. Like, I shouldn't lie when I feel so bad I wanna throw up, and yet I need to "protect" my dad from the truth. Luckily, my bf is completely different and supports me, but it's a shame the older generation can't get rid of this stupid habit. Smh
In Germany they teach us in 4th class (elementary school) what a period is and that we have nothing to be ashamed of, so most boys here are so open, respectful and understanding about it 🥰 My boyfriend grew up with an older sister and his mom and he is always so caring when I have my period, he's the sweetest ❤️
One time in class I was on my period and the the teacher was taking about organs and I felt like I was gonna pass out or throw up. I just assumed that i was grossed out but I felt awful. It was a terrible situation because I didn’t even know what hot flashes were. I was also sitting next to a boy and he happened to look over I was extremely flushed which was really embarrassing.
@@Dox0087 of course it's natural, but most of the time our female society doesn't allow us to speak out about these in front of any male... And if someone is able to talk freely nd the opposite gender understands, it's literally a good thing.
exactly. why should women be ashamed of something that's connected to their health and biology?

Everything is perfect except going to temple room during periods😃
Bcoz according to ayurveda during periods the energy of women’s body is towards earth and the energy in temples are opposite to it so it can cause harm to them
And another reason, according to what a priest told me during periods a women’s body is considered too pure that if she visit a temples then the goddess which is residing in that idol will start to reside in that girl’s body
So that’s why female are told to not to enter temples 🛕
And periods are a simple biological thing it’s nothing which should be kept hidden especially from boys so that boys can also understand the pain a female goes through so that atleast they can understand them and comfort them😇

As a German I'm deeply shocked to learn it's not normal to talk about periods. It's perfectly normal in my country. 😳
Germany is one of the most progressive countries in the world. As a German, you need to understand that
Yeah it's kinda stigmatized in India to talk abt stuff like this.

@thezoldics7648 clearly you are very detached from reality if you think its normal everywhere to treat periods as natural and normal and not make it a sign of impurity and something to be embarrassed about....and no one is blaming or guilt striking men and boys, its society and its outdated rules that are being challenged here, which should be...also sanitary napkins are a necessity and menstrual hygiene is considered as a basic human right in many countries, so i don't see your point there as well, infact i think you should rather campaign for decreased taxes in menstrual hygiene products as you rightly think the companies are charging us more.

i also like how in ads the blood is actually shown red and not denoted with a blue liquid
Sometimes small steps must be taken for people to feel comfortable.
When I dated my first BF at 20 i had to explain how it works because he had no idea despite health class. It helped him better understand women.

We never talked of periods really I
had to keep anything out of sight.
Then I met my husband . He used to help as I had heavy periods 😢
I was embarrassed but he just helped me. Made sure I had something to change into. 😊❤
Even in schools, whenever the teachers used to arrange an awareness programme or something regarding periods. It was only the girl students which were called in auditorium. The boys were left as such.
The students must have thought that periods is something which should not be even discussed among boys.
how can it be an awareness programme if the boys are not even made aware of it? we here all already know without such programmes
My Grandpa cared for me and my mom during period days (He had went to heaven now🤍).
My step dad (who also have a daughter aka my sis) also cared for us without hesitation. Could be due to him being a doctor.❤

Incredible message!
I have told my younger brother about periods and pads and all, and he didn't feel uncomfortable at all! Insteds he kept asking me more questions about it. I felt happy and proud to know that he isn't afraid or shy to know about these.. infact there shouldn't be anything to be ashamed of! Im hella sure he will turn out to be a gentleman
I also want to tell my younger brother about periods when he is like 13 or 14 years old. He is 8 years old right now.
It's important to understand that's Periods are normal and there's nothing to be shameful about it.
I think basic education about these things should be given to students, especially to boys that these things do occur naturally through the biological processes in a female body and it is totally fine.
RESPECT for Girls 😊
It's common for 11th and 12th biology students they learn it more about it though
@@soumyadipmukherjee6627 ya that's also true
@@soumyadipmukherjee6627 Yes, but at that point they're already basically adults. Girls get their periods at various ages but usually 8-14. They would have had their periods and teased by the boys for years before the school would have went over it, then.

The right to not have violent crimes committed against you should never have to be earned. its a moral duty of the strong to protect the weak, which applies to both men and women in any aspect. but honestly you should respect both equally, and the same way. Even in Finland in the early 2000's boys bullied us about our periods. I thought it was so stupid because I was proud that I became a woman.

Every boy should know regarding the same. So they comfort every girl during this tough time every month.
Good one. Please make one more showing how a healthy conversation with a young boy can look like! People need to see it is possible.
I knew a boy in elementary school who carried around pads for the girls at the school just in case someone needed. It was amazing to see.
You're doing a very good job mam! Its about damn time mothers themselves discuss this stuff with their Raaja-beta(s)!
Im from Scotland and I can remember trying to unwrap sanitary pads as quickly and quietly as possible in high school. Scotland has come a very long way and now we have FREE period products for people who need them. Having a vagina is definitely not something anyone should be made to feel ashamed of! Dont let the patriarchy make you think differently!
I love that the teacher said, mind your own business.

This is so beautiful! Congratulations on the initiative!
I am so lucky because my brother also known about periods. When I am suffering from priedos he fully care for me i love my brother ❤️
Smh
Never understood why people act like talking about periods is some sort of a crime
In Germany they teach us in 4th class (elementary school) what a period is and that we have nothing to be ashamed of, so most boys here are so open, respectful and understanding about it 🥰
My boyfriend grew up with an older sister and his mom and he is always so caring when I have my period, he's the sweetest ❤️
