Pakistan’s Descent into Madness: Blasphemy Accusation Leads to Brutal Lynching

- In a shocking display of religious extremism, a Muslim mob in Pakistan's Swat Valley stormed a police station, seized a man accused of blasphemy, and brutally lynched him. The victim, Mohammad Ismail, was a tourist visiting for Eid Al-Adha when he was accused of desecrating a Quran. The incident escalated rapidly after mosque loudspeakers called for locals to gather, leading to the violent attack. As regional police officer Mohammad Ali Gandapur described, "After initially rescuing the man from a crowd, the police took him to the station in Madyan, but announcements from mosque loudspeakers asked locals to come out." The mob's actions, which included burning the police station and the victim's body, have sparked outrage and renewed concerns about Pakistan's blasphemy laws and the prevalence of religiously motivated violence in the country. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify and arrest those responsible for this horrific act.

I believe there is still a likelyhood in which Malaysia might just skid pass this fate.
This is due to a shift in political clout that traditionally belonged to political parties from the peninsula into the hands of political parties from Borneo.
The shift started about 10 odd years ago and has since accelerated.
If the trend continues, we will most probably see a ruling coalition led by parties from Borneo.
These parties are very secular by nature and Borneo natives are predominantly christian.
Couple that with the fact that the borneo christians and muslims belong to the same native tribes. Literally related to one another.
Sabah and Sarawak being equal partners in the Malaysian federation giving these two states absolute control over their borders.
Peninsula natives need to produce travel documents and clear immigration and border control before they are allowed entry into Borneo.
Islamist politicians are one of those who are often refused entry and asked to turn back.
This is why I don't bother with peaceful religion countries. They can be fine for a while, but a resurgence of more Islamic law is always just around the corner. The people in those countries will have to deal with it sadly once life has been reduced to misery and people should not be encouraging their societies by popularizing them.

Hello Armin, I understand the danger that Islam poses, but please please talk about project 2025 and it's clear dangers. We are in jeopardy of losing our democracy and be subject to theocracy. As atheists, secularists, and human rights supporters we should care about that. We are possibly months away from saying goodbye to democracy. More people need to raise the issue.
If I understand correctly Susana, religion is not the main reason for the lynching. It's rather a precondition. Would manifesting that publicly in masses have the opposite effect?

15:58 Don't agree. Sure the larger point remains that ecomonic hardship leads to more crimes and it's an injustice that needs to be addressed. But there are many other poor/poorer regions in the world, but one doesn't see these sorts of crimes being committed there. Religious sectarianism is seen throughout Pakistani society in varing degrees from rich to poor, educated to uneducated, it's even found in the constitution that legally discriminates based in religion. And that is how things are today, not decades or centuries ago.

There are a few similarities, actually, even if the motivations are different.
1. It shows the true violent nature of Islam, and how such a majority of the Muslim communities (even their governments) even endorse that kind of barbaric acts, thinking that it's the "right" things to do.
2. Islamists will never own up to their actions. They'll never admit that what they do is immoral, atrocious, excessive, whatever you can call those. They'll always find a reason to justify it, whether is "occupation", "resistance", or "defending their religion", and if you disagree with them, they'll come for you and your family, or accuse you of "islamophobia" until you they have the chance to do the former.
