I used this video to change this part. Everything worked out. Thank you Mr. Rice. I will find a way to show my support as soon as I get some funds. Support the D.I.Y. community.
Thank you so much for putting this step by step vid together! Don't think i would have been able to do it without damaging something. Your vid saved my 🥓
One of the best videos Ive ever watch. No loud music background, could hear you clearly plus you got right in there with camera and made my job easy. Now I have to figure out how to get this engine mount back on. Im thinking I might have to take belt off first. Was hoping you showed that part but overall 5 out of 5 ☆ well done!! Rick - Athens Tx
Thanks Rice, appreciate the clean Language, love Christian mechanics:) Hey do you know how to check the transfer case and transmission oil? on a 2015 tax awd 6T45E auto transmission?
GM requires replacing two torque to yield bolts in the water pump and the engine mount bolts (6) of them. GM extended the warranty coverage up to ten years due to all the problems with this engine.
Hi Mr Rice fris I will like to thank you for the video is great but I have a question in how to purged the air out of the radiador and the cistem if you can make a video on it I know it will be a good help for many of us ones aging tank you have a great day
Thanks for the video found it very helpful. 1 question what's with the other round seal that comes with the new pump? Didn't use it, then I thought that goes inside the pump whith the plastic part, but I see you didn't use it neither so I guess is for a different model??? Thanks.
Mr. Rice i have a question in regard to the chevy trax water pump replacement video. Would you recommend having some guide studs made up to help seat the pump and gasket a little easier for novice mechanics? If so do you know bolt diameter?
@@sanussiamer7981 so this fix took me about nine hours but I'm not a professional mechanic. On mine ther was a freeze plug on the pump that was leaking. Get you a new thermostat to put on it as well.
I would definitely put a new thermostat housing on the water pump while doing this job. Those thermostat housings fail fairly regularly. Just my opinion. Great video for a shitty job. Thanks.
I recommend a plastic scraper so you don't accidentally damage the metal. Another good idea would be to use some medium thread locker on the bolts so they don't loosen up from engine vibrations.
@@Seemoneycomerecords not on some of the Ecoboosts, it's right behind the timing chain, you have to take the chain off to get pump off, dumb design, can drain right into the oil pan
As has been previously mentioned, Thank you for taking the time to do this!! I appreciate your dedication and easy to follow process.

I changed the thermostat housing - so all the coolant leakage is due to a bad water pump?
You need to get you some hose clamp pliers, with the long cable. My Snap-On ones were only $160.

Hello Mr.Rice
I don't know to take a water pump.I notice this problems yesterday coming back from Henyetta ok.
I’m trying to get my water pump replaced and when I call around everybody is asking is it connected to the timing change? Is it?…..
Do you have a video on replacing the oil pan gasket on the 2015 Trax?
No not yet
Helpful video!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Hi, what are the torque specs for the bolts? You said all of them are different size but do they all take the same torque?
What would you charge for this job?
Hello Mr. Rice. I noticed that one bolt that came out with some milky sludge. You mention a possible blown head gasket. Was that the case??
No it wasn’t
Thank you.
The exact same bolt on my water pump came out like that. Any idea why that one bolt may have come out like that??
I just did this same job to my encore,
Awesome video. Is this for 1.8 or 1.4T
A friend of mine has a 2017 chevy trax does she need to replace timing belt and tensioner when she does the water pump
No
@@Seemoneycomerecords she can just replace the pump then ?
Most cars now have timing chains nowadays you shouldnt have to mess with it for about 300,000 miles. Unless you don't check and change your oil 😅

I’m sorry I don’t know the bolt size, they are all different sizes you have to make sure you put them in the rite spot
But I will check for you
@@Seemoneycomerecords sir does ur trax overheat?

Is that water pump timing chain driven like what the ford Ecoboosts are?
Yes

I drain it from the water pump
My ltz is totally different set up 😔
