I love how they actually "de-designed" a number of the more recent characters so they look more fitting to VF1's art style

i remember i really liked the non-VF1 characters in the VF1 style in VF4 Evolution. it was kinda funny to see someone like Aoi or Goh without their usual level of detail.
Yeah, it's great. Vanessa even gets her VF4 outfit.
I like how the VF1 styled skins for newer characters use their OG costumes from their first apperances, Like Lion and Vanessa with their VF2+4 costumes. Its a cute touch
wish they did that for t. arashi tho
Taka-Arashi is finally in his right place: appearing after Aoi rather than Eileen :3
And seeing some of the older outfits used in the animé on the classic skins (at least for younger Lau, Jacky, and Lion)? Even more awesome :3
yeah, although he screwed the order of the VF1 characters after Lau (it should be Wolf > Jeffry > Kage > Sarah > Jacky).
The story behind vituafighter is so crazy that if any software story should ever have a movie made about, it would be this one.
the only thing missing their lips moving in the silly exagerated manner they did in VF1 like when they were selected, but no ones perfect. this is awesome!
They should make an arcade mode with just the retro graphics like they did in VF4 Evolution
was there a retro arcade mode in VF4 Evolution? I though you couldn´t play with the retro characters and only saw them in the credits

Funny how Vanessa's VF1 Skin is her older muscular look from VF4 Vanilla, would be nice to do that in this game again.
they reused the skins from VF 10th Anniversary.

If there's one nitpick I have, is that the polygon skins don't emote like the original arcade game. Still cool at the fact that they de-designed newer characters.

They only needed to make 5 new model, since most of these are from the 10th anniversary
Imho, Sega gave El Blaze Shun Di and Jeffery the best detail on these retro outfits. If we can get extra colors for these skins, I would be even happier.

I wish arcades were still like they were in the 90s, when all the malls or shopping plazas had them, all the different games where you only had to spend quarters or tokens to play them. Why did they ever go away?
Well, they are in a bit of a resurgence, except most of the games there are either ports of mobile games or racers/shooters that are intentionally unbalanced.

Why is Jacky’s VF1 stage the only one available?
I'm not into Wolf's design, Sure it's designed to resemble the classic arcade version but he seems to have a hunchback and his arms seem deflated a bit(?)

They're seperate, you need to select them from the character select screen

Virtua Fighter 1 had facial expressions... Art these days is death, just 3D computer-assisted rendering, the same went to a remake of Daytona USA, someone thought it was a good idea to replace Jeffry's statue with Akira's in the expert track.
agreed, they should make the old models' faces animate, but it kinda seems they're too lazy to do that... even in the 10th Anniversary mode in VF4E (which was what, over 15 years ago? damn i'm getting old) they pulled this shit. not that i don't like this demake idea, but come on.

@@deltakid0 mostly retro-looking indie games. the most recent big release i know is Streets of Rage 4 is pretty damn good. oh, and also the Alex Kidd in Miracle World remake that came out earlier this month.
