It was established in 1949 to provide new employment opportunities in the south eastern portion of the South Wales Coalfield. Cwmbrân means "valley of the crow" in the Welsh language. It is twinned with Bruchsal, Germany and Carbonne, France. (Filmed and edited by Jon Lawrance)

So I was listening to Marc Marons WTF episode with comedian Doug Stanhope. Doug says in the interview that he lives in Bisbee, Arizona. So I go to the Wikipedia page for Bisbee, Arizona to find out more about the town. I read that it's a so-called "planned town". I don't know what that is so I click on the wikipedia page for "planned town".
The article explains what a planned town is and lists a bunch of towns that are planned towns. In the list for The UK, Cwmbran is one of the planned towns. I see that name and wonder how it's pronounced, so I go to to RUclips and google the word "cwmbran" hoping to find a video where somebody pronounces it. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the story of how I found this video.

+JoelMatton --Bisbee was a company town--coal company; every one worked for the company. The company built some public amenities, but other than that it's one of the most unplanned towns in Arizona. The topography consists of a few flat areas and many steep slopes, to which the houses cling. Very picturesque. After the mine (an immense ungodly hole) shut down, it's become a mecca for retired hippies and their ilk.
Every six weeks holiday we went to my cousins in Cwmbran.
I remember a L shaped swimming pool where two lads pinned me between two float mats and a guard saved my life. Also I had to go to the police station cause some lads found a pair of hand cuffs and got me and put them on me, got smashed off my skateboard by locals on bikes, chased by the local lads and had to fight like fuck to survive....!
I learnt to run like the wind and fight like a cornered fox.
I will never forgive my fecking dad for sending me on holidays there, I am Fucking English for god sake, and it was the 80s.
I bloody love Wales x

From Florida here.....went there last year (and London, and Paris, and Amstersdam) Loved my time spent in Cwmbran!!! Good times with good friends!!!! All people from Wales should be proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GLC are legends. My daughter met them when she was helping out at the Abergavenny music festival a few years back. She said they were the nicest band she ever met.

Cwmbran is a better place to live than anywhere else I lived Newport is a crap place and Cardiff is too crowded and Cwmbran has more places to go to now new shops more parking areas so Cwmbran is a great place to live

I remember a family from Cwmbran at our guest House on holiday at Newquay in 1978 and 79.
The Queen pointed me through Cwmbran this one time..
She's a regular at the local Circus (they still use real lions in their shows)..
This town was made for me!!!
I went to this house party, once - near Cwmbran.. The girls mum whose house was it came early from a party to find a load of us drinking and spewing in her living room..
She had just been widowed, and as a Monk - I don't drink. She tried to come on to me as I was leaving to go home.
I comforted her from her tears, and she told me not to tell her daughter she had found their "dirty" party when she came home early. I was only 18, and a bit out of my depth at comforting a fully grown woman.
Bless her, hope she is OK. I think about her often. ❤️

Genius from the GLC here! Could certainly alter the lyrics a little myself to cover my town (Bangor, Northern Ireland). To me the GLC summed up what rap is about: it's not just about creating lyrics that rhyme, it's about understanding and empathising with the emotions and feelings of your local community, in order to create something that gives them a smile or a laugh.

As a Cwmbran boy, I recommend visting to explore its many parking options. I mean, don't bother getting out of the car, but the parking is definitely adequate.
