- Watch the official music video for "Guns Don't Kill People" by Goldie Lookin Chain.
In August 2004, the song peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart. With the tagline "The gun is the tool, the mind is the weapon", in this track the band again satirised the American hip hop scene.
The video for the song features the band doing a mock police line-up and being chased on customised mobility scooters. The video is shot mostly in the town of Watford, England, featuring such local landmarks as the original 1970s concrete brutalist style shopping centre, the YMCA building and the spiral car park ramp visible from the ring road.

Who's listening in 2024?
I'm listening and smoking Green
Literally what I’m doing in my deck 😂
Woop woop woo!
Me
👍
"Guns don't kill people, rappers do - I seen it in a documentary on BBC2" is the greatest lyric of all time
"From Brisol Zoo... to B&Q" is a close second though. :)
Like Michael Caine in Zulu
Oima f'in rapper an'I moite kill yew!
and "even eminem is into pistol whippin" is a close third
(in my opinion)
Remember kids to the head double tap 🤣🤣🤣
"Guns don't kill people, rappers do. I heard it on a documentary on BBC 2." What a classic.
ikr
Omg i read this as he said it 😂
red green 1 2 your face my shoe
red green
I know great line...
Classic and still relevant today!
“Just say no like Zammo did “ Jeez that’s a blast from the past that unfortunately I’m old enough to understand lol
Grange Hill ftw
I heard this song once or twice in 2004 and was like "Meh..." and forgot about it then suddenly about a week ago at about 3 in the morning I literally jolted awake with this song in my head and it wont leave me alone...its so fucking catchy. and it wont stop...ever.
@Mother Algorithm Yes. Want proof? "WIBBLE DIBBLE BANANA MONKEY POB." I'm a lost cause.
Same here 😂
I Know Right! :~) I remember this song from my Youth and I love it so much and my favourite Lyric is it's cathy hook of "Guns Don't Kill People Robbers Do (Rappers) Calling The Police Whoo Whoo Whoo" and the Bit at the end "Uh Uh I love you Mum! I love You Dad"
Same thing just happened to me
A classmate of mine suggested this song to me years ago and listened to it all the time. Then recently I spent weeks trying to remember it. Now I’m here.
Core memory of mine is being introduced to this group by a Welsh guy while playing WoW back in 2005 or so. I was 16 years old and had the greatest hits album on loop while farming undeads in Duskwood. Christ, what a different world it was back then.
RuneScape days brother
Bruhhhhh.......
Wer the old ones now
Loving the RUclips comments from geeks who don't get the joke and don't have a clue how awesome GLC's satires are. For the uninitiated, this song was first released in 2004 and reached no.3 in the UK charts.
I have always thought of GLC as a Welsh hip hop Spinal Tap 😂
Eh? GLC remind of an early 80s Beasties trying to break out.
@@tallalexander Hahahahah that's brilliant.
17 years old and still legendary
I love the entire 90s vibe this video has, dragging the camera and pointing fingers at the camera included like any 90s rap video had. :')
Aye not bad for a 2000's song
"One two your face my shoe", spitting pure fire lads.
don’t care what anyone says, we produced the worlds best rappers 🏴🏴
Tidy temper 😉
We also produce the best ninjas. Have you ever seen a Welsh ninja?
.
.
.
Exactly. Point proved.
This song is so under rated. That beat. Lyrical genius.
“1 2 your face my shoe” is the greatest rap lyric of all time nobody can tell me otherwise 😂
"From Bristol Zoo, to B&Q" - the greatest lyrics in music history.
All filmed in Watford's old shopping center, all completely replaced now.
It feels weird that I've watched this specific vid just one day after someone I'm subbed to.
GLC was always underrated. We've mostly got the PC Police to thank for that.
hello you!
Bloody hell Larry, what are you doing listening to GLC? Not smoking that soapbar i hope XD.
Just put a coating on it mate. All the car park stuff is still there...
“Like Michael Ryan about to snap / guns don’t kill people, it’s just rap” greatest bars ever spat in uk rap ever
36 years old and still listening to this in 2022. Bobbin around my kitchen like I'm 16 still 😜
I tried to listen to this on Apple Music yesterday. It’s region blocked. Thanks Jacinta.
I was once driving through Wellington NZ and they popped up on the radio. Very strange to be all the way over there and they are referencing Tywbalym (made-up spelling)
And what really amazes me, is that I can still remember all the words...ain't heard it for about 5 years.....
The most threatening thing to come out of Wales
True
you missed out "not named ian watkins" hahaha
@@lewisb85 well that went dark fucking quickly. Good effort mate 👍
You should look up fleapit. The Welsh can rap man.
Long bow ?
STILL ONE OF THE BEST TRACKS EVER!
I found these guys through reading Kerrang. They were really embraced by the rock scene. This song is iconic. 😂
Who do you listen to now?
This track was actually in a massive "artist sampler" torrent back in 2005 or 2006 released by South by Southwest of all music acts that were playing in their week-long, city-wide music festival.
I remember this video on Kerrang all the time when it was released 😂😂 still makes me laugh
The rock scene embraces all beta males 😂
Saw these boys live - and they smashed the feck out of it....
watched these live last summer in a small park here in wales. they’ve played there about 6 times or more over the years. still fuckin brilliant
From Bristol Zoo to B&Q
eleven38 hate it
I was on the motorway yesterday going past Bristol... saw a sign for Bristol Zoo, thought of this, then looked right and saw B&Q... 😂 🤣 😭
best line among many
I'm a Yank, desperately needed captions/subtitles,but this still always had me in hysterics.
u can't understand them???
@@jthc5627 It's not easy, anyway.I can understand most English,Scottish and Irish but Welsh (at hip hop speed) confuses the hell out of me.Still,it was hilarious, woowoowoo.
@@kevincarlson4562 Guns don't kill people rappers do,
Ask any politican and they'll tell you its true,
Its a fact music makes you violent,
Like Michael Jackson telling little Timmy to be silent,
You don't believe me? here's my hype,
Offer me the record and i'll show you the type,
Of criminal this rap shit is breedin,
Its a fact that MC Hammer left me bleedin,
Vanilla Ice made my mother say 'Fuck',
If I stuck with UB40 then I woulda been in luck,
But I didn't I got it wrong,
Cypress fucking hill to me to make a fucking bong,
So I started, I bought another tape,
That bad boy vibe made my cock and balls ache,
So remember kids from the head double tap,
Guns don't kill people its just rap!
Guns don't kill people rappers do
So of the police
Woo woo woo
Guns don't kill people rappers do,
I seen it in a documentary on BBC2,
Shot to death outside Hyper Value,
Guns blazin like Michael Cain in Zulu,
Guns with sadistic are sometimes misleading,
The type of criminal that rap is breedin,
Shot in the chest? No wonder you stopped breathin,
2 for the base over, are you receivin?
Remember rap tracks in '87
Scott the Rock's up ni Hip-Hop heaven,
Biggie and Tupac R.I.P,
Even Jam Master Jays in the cemetary.
Guns don't kill people rappers do,
I'm a fucking rapper and I might kill you,
As a rapper I'm teachin you a lesson,
AK47 to Smith-and-Weston
Just say no, just like Zappo
Bullet proof vest, to guns and ammo,
Hip-hop gangster trippin,
Even Eminems into pistol whippin,
Its like cluedo murder one,
P-Diddy, J'lo in a nightclub with a gun,
Heard snoop dog now wants to bust a cap,
Guns don't kill people its just rap
One, Two yo face my shoe,
My name is Mike Balls and I'm comin through,
Gun crimes, stabbin, and burglarisation,
Its on a rise all across the nation,
The safety's off and the pistol is aimed,
Yardies and the Mafia always get blamed,
Politicians are shamed, and they haven't got a clue,
Rap is more deadly than fucking Kung-Fu
Guns don't kill people rappers do,
From Bristol Zoo to B&Q,
I want to rap, I want to rhyme
Heard it in a song now I'm into gun crime,
Its a sign of the times like Prince changin his name,
Gotta have a shooter to be in the rap game,
Like Michael Ryan about to snap,
Guns don't kill people its just rap!
@@stevenconnor4221 very good, but it's Zammo not Zappo. For the reference Zammo od'd on smack in the school toilets in a kids show called Grange Hill. Then the kids on the show put out some awful single called 'Just say no!' to, I guess, stop school aged children doing heroin.
@@MegaFuriousAnger well spotted I remember Grange hill, it was just a copy and paste.👍
'Rap is more deadly than fkn Kung Fu'.
Deserved to go platinum just for that lyric.
This still a classic these days
Aye, that'll be the Cymru for ya!
Oh my days, this song came out almost 11 years ago. Who else is feeling OLD right now?!
Them wappers do. Feel old that is. Mindin me own bis. Not takin da piss. Struttin me stuff to tunes like this. Nuff said! Respekt selekta!
Speak for yourself, I remember recording "fog on the Tyne is all mine" on Sunday evening.
BBC chart show and a tape recorder, who needs Spotify
😂
@@MG-bs5mr I did record Thriller (vynil single with "Things I Do for You" on the b-side), not long after release, from the scratched/discount bin, onto tape (magnetic) with one of those recorders where you had to hold the red Btn down while pushing the play-monolith forwards to start recording...
Channel Four having been launched earlier that month... (I checked)

@@podulox the good old days eh.
I would say that your method might produce the better results because my recording off the radio ALWAYS ended up with "... and that was ### at number 12, now coming in at nber 11..."
🤣😂👍
#1 great song
#2 great country
# 3 great tracksuits

This is a great song! I never heard of them until I saw Maggot on Celebrity Big Brother UK (2006) and searched for his band.
It is perfect!

UK hip hop is alive and well
So glad I was born in the early 90’s. No fb, RUclips wasn’t a thing, no tik tok, cod4, Freddo’s we’re cheaper, Woolworths. The list is endless.
Flake 99s costing 99p.
Argos catalogue and a pen to choose what you want for Christmas
Sound of fresh air
Saw this song on the box the other week. So much so that I found the cd in a charity shop. Missed this track the first time around but we all need a bit of light hearted pee-taking out of the rap scene from time to time don't we?.
Thumbs up if your a 90s kid and You Worship Rucka Rucka Ali and Goldie Lookin Chain! :~)
I'm surprised this song doesn't have more views
Too bad it's censored.
This is brilliant!
Saw them at v2004 the whole place was bouncing when they did this song. Good times, man.
Makes me proud to be Welsh! Epic!!!!!
*Shines brighter*
Even 8 yrs on this track is still amazing! "Rap is more deadly than fucking Kung-Fu" will always be my favourite line!

Man this banger
Errrr.... I worked "Security" at Glastonbury 2004 and missed out on all the goldie-lookin' chains they threw into the crowd with free abandon. One of the biggest regrets of my life....

Greatest hippity hoppity track of all time.
I would love to see a video of Rappers like Eminem,Snoop dog,etc watching this video and their reactions/thoughts about it😁

old school tune
I almost died when he said "Eminem is just a pistol whippin", a more accurate metaphor has never been spoken.
and this man didnt know he could delete or edit comments
This is the official start of drill music...
It doesn't sound anything like drill music, nor does it have any connection to it. They are a parody group.
Nice ❤
Cruising around in mobility scooters and avoiding the police, just a normal day here in Newport. You knows it.
Uff this is so good
Class.
