Ugene is American but Korean by birth and so is dong mae. This makes me realize that all of the problems in joseon at that time all originated from the corrupted Korean gov. Just my opinion.
I'm so satisfied they didn't make them sworn enemies because of the Iove triangle they're in. They love the same woman and they literally become best friends instead.
The Bromance was real. I cried manly tears at their last drinking scene, and drank a shot myself. This was a beautiful example of an evolving friendship among men.
I sobbed a goddamn storm and (spoiler for people who haven't seen the show yet, but I think you have xD) when Gu Dong Mae died, which I was expecting but still hurt like hell, I recalled that scene, and I recalled the, "we're all heading to the same place." Dialogue. I had to stop myself at the final train scene when Eugene shoots the coupling or whatever cause I'm gonna absolutely lose it and I CAN'T in school HNGGG. Fuck fuck fuck. Thisbdrama is a masterpiece but the shit it's done to me. I can't watch this *very* cute video without sobbing now. And don't even get me started on Yang hwa. I thought my crying was ridiculous when Joseph does but holy damn. All I can say is, I'll be able to cry on command for theater if I think about her. Dammit. UUUGHHHH. This made me cry more than My Mister I'm just. Oh my god, in sorry, I'll go now XD
Friendship between men in love with the same woman, sure they were jealous of the other but it was respect for Aeshin they understood it was her right to chose whom she loved and it was not up to them to fight over her like a piece of meat. Chivalry bound the men in friendship despite their desires, it wasn’t just Aeshin they had in common, it was honour which was more important.
They tryna act like they don't get along but they actually like being around with each other. They coldly treat each other but they have each other's back...i just love their kind of friendship and i'm grateful that this series was made. One of The BEST

dong mae died taking down as many Japanese samurai as he can, hui seong died because he kept his mouth shut and my man eugene choi died sacrificing his life by detaching the train to keep her alive. Much much respect to all three men. Strangers at the very start- friends/comrades to the very end

Dong Mae got me hooked. Started to watch for a different reason but continued because of him. Couldn't resist doing a marathon. Just finished it. Love his character and his looks with his facial hair and all. Now checkin his other dramas. 👍👍👍

Hui-seong definitely had the best character's developments in the show, and the saddest death. The guy sacrificed so much and probably the only MLs of the show that has a pure affection towards Ae-shin without any other agenda. The guy also spent 10 episodes convincing the audience he's a goof-off joker and then dropped this epic line on episode 11: "Whether you are using my suit to protect or sell our country, I'll be your shadow. So when you are in danger, come to me and hide" Absolute goosebumps.
I love this humour. Beautifully written. A subtle build of friendship between the cultures of three people who are truly not dissimilar, however much they may have resisted at first. A delight to see this humour weave its way through the programme. It's cleverly carrying the viewer through a difficult topic with actors who are truly owning their roles. I'm smitten with this show and not just for the leading roles. I'll be rewatching this many times. 🎎🍒❤️

That was all because of that one girl - Go Ae-shin, a fragile-looking woman who carried with her a huge love for her nation, a truly patriot that might seem to them both close and far at the same time but they three still chose to love her to their very last breath. Along their journeys of loving Ae-shin, they gradually became patriots just like her. I truly love how the director portrayed the three. This has become one of my favourite K-drama. I just finished watching this colossal drama. What a powerful, beautifully made 'gun-glory-sad ending' patriotic love story. I am overwhelmed with all characters they created who were so well played by the leading and supporting stars. The (black and also white) humour they put here between all 24 episodes, had given me a better and satisfied feeling towards it. Thank you for sharing this to us👏👏👏👏
i can't stop thinking about how all the three of them remembered aeshin in their last moments in their own way, for gu dongmae she was his last seven minutes he was happy to be part of her life even though it was just that once, for kim huiseong she was his one of the beautiful things that he liked among all his beautiful yet useless things, for eugene choi she was the woman he loved and wanted to protect and did end up protecting, he used that one bullet wisely, he made her walk forward and himself stepped back. none had a happy ending, all of them all the characters ended up with a sad ending. and all three of them in their last moments thought of go aeshin. my eyes now hurt from all the hours i cried for. all of them chose different paths and made different choices but ended up at the same path.

The love triangle/square between the three of them and Ae sin was carried out well 😂 I normally find love triangles tiresome, but not this one! Plus, their interactions were one of the best highlights of this series ☀️

I like their maturity with each of their own approach to love. They love Ae Shin with unspoken rule to protect her and they did not waste time fighting each other for love instead they recognized that Ae Shin's priority at that time in history is her country's freedom. Ae Shin loved her country and the three protected that love, indirectly protecting and loving the country they were born in.

I love this drama so much. I've been a fan of Lee Byung-Hun for years. All 3 of these men played the hell out of their parts. I would have married any one of them but Yoo Yeon Seok aka Dong Mae was really pulling me towards him. This series was a masterpiece. I love the use of the 3 languages . I loved that it was all Korean actors playing the part of Japanese men. Even the American Captain aka Kyke is half Korean. Best kdrama series I've seen. It had everything, sadness, romance, action, humor. It was the real deal. And they pulled it off without one love or even a kissing scene
It's the first time in a Drama that I love all 3 men characters. They were greatly written, great acting, and them becoming friends was so good to see! My fav is still Gu Dong Mae though. So cool !

i can't stop thinking about how all the three of them remembered aeshin in their last moments in their own way, for gu dongmae she was his last seven minutes he was happy to be part of her life even though it was just that once, for kim huiseong she was his one of the beautiful things that he liked among all his beautiful yet useless things, for eugene choi she was the woman he loved and wanted to protect and did end up protecting, he used that one bullet wisely, he made her walk forward and himself stepped back. none had a happy ending, all of them all the characters ended up with a sad ending. and all three of them in their last moments thought of go aeshin. my eyes now hurt from all the hours i cried for. all of them chose different paths and made different choices but ended up at the same path.
Just gotta love this trio.. Always cracks me up when the two gang up on Hui seong with death threats.. 😂😂
Mr. Sunshine has that kind of good mix of drama, action, comedy, and romance! That's why I love it!

The love triangle/square between the three of them and Ae sin was carried out well 😂 I normally find love triangles tiresome, but not this one! Plus, their interactions were one of the best highlights of this series ☀️

The fondness growing between hui seong, yu jin and dong mae was the most beautiful one! The friendship between ae shin and hina was wonderful! They love Ae Shin with unspoken rule to protect her and they did not waste time fighting each other for love instead they recognized that Ae Shin's priority at that time in history is her country's freedom. Ae Shin loved her country and the three protected that love, indirectly protecting and loving the country they were born in.

What a beautiful job!!! I cried several times for being a very well-made and beautiful story. Really a kdrama that can't be missed. It was really breathtaking. This one is definitely a MUST watch. One word to describe everything about this kdrama is badass💯 Its like sitting down for 4-courses meal but receiving 10-courses that were delicious and satisfying far beyond expectations.
One of the most kdrama i've seen. This kdrama left the pains in my chest. Im in love with the storyline, the actors, chemistry, realistic, emotions, beautiful setting, ost... I can feel the pains by their teary eyes and movements. This is masterpiece. Finally all i can say is WOW. Im hooked!!! Thanks to all those who in one way or another achieved something so beautiful. Kdrama to the new level. Highly recommended!!!!

I love this drama so much. I've been a fan of Lee Byung-Hun for years. All 3 of these men played the hell out of their parts. I would have married any one of them but Yoo Yeon Seok aka Dong Mae was really pulling me towards him. This series was a masterpiece. I love the use of the 3 languages . I loved that it was all Korean actors playing the part of Japanese men. Even the American Captain aka Kyke is half Korean. Best kdrama series I've seen. It had everything, sadness, romance, action, humor. It was the real deal. And they pulled it off without one love or even a kissing scene
