Esterházy Torta
Here it is, a dessert fits for royalty!
Esterhazy torte, which was originated in Hungary and Austria, was named after Prince Paul III Anton Esterházy de Galántha of the Austrian empire.
This special dessert is made of buttercream spiced with cognac or vanilla, sandwiched between four and five layers of almond meringue (macaroon) dough. The torte is iced with a fondant glaze and decorated with a characteristic chocolate striped pattern.

INGREDIENTS:
FOR THE CUSTARD BUTTERCREAM
8 Egg Yolks
45g Corn Starch
315ml Milk
150g Caster Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
45ml Cherry Brandy Liqueur (Optional)
300g Butter
FOR THE DACQUOISE
112g Ground Hazelnuts
75g Ground Almonds
58g Butter, melted
300g Caster Sugar, divided
38g Corn Starch
195g Egg Whites
Icing Sugar
FOR THE GLAZE
75g Apricot Jam
1 tbsp Rum (or 1 tbsp water)
FOR THE TOPPING
2 1/2 tbsp Water
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
300g Icing Sugar
22g Dark Chocolate, melted
Toasted Flaked Almonds

*315 ml mlijeka

11/2 kašičice ekstrakta vanile
*45 ml likera od višnje (opciono)

ZA DACQUOISE
112g mljevenih lješnjaka
*75g mlevenih badema
*58g putera. rastopljeni
*300g šećera u prahu, podijeljeno
*38a Kukuruzni škrob
*195g bjelanaca
*Šećer u prahu
75g džema od kajsija
1 kašika ruma (ili 1 kašika vode)
ZA PRELIV
*2 1/2 kašike vode
*1 kašika limunovog soka
300 g šećera u prahu
22g tamne čokolade, otopljene

I am sorry but this is not Eszterhazy torta. That is made with English walnuts, no cornstarch but 20 grams flour. When you bake we don’t sprinkle icing sugar. Probably what you baked is taste just not the Eszterhazy cake .

I tried the base. But I failed. It was runny
Sorry to hear that, probably the meringue was not stiff enough before adding the ingredients or could be the mix was over whipped. :(
@@JustCookbyAngel I'm currently doing this again. Turns out I was beating it way too hard. But I managed to save it. Put more cornstarch

I’m sure it’s a nice cake but this is definitely not Eszterházi torta. There are no hard bits in Eszterházi plus you’re missing all of the walnuts. Weird recipe
