6:35 I LIKED The Lil' Engine that Could. It gets the Job Done and You Get PAID! Good Episode Blu'! I wish you would play more Derail Valley. I'm thinking about buying just to have some fun with it in Career Mode.
Not sure if you already know that, but when you see a up or down arrow under the speed limit, that means the next speed limit will have at least 20km/h up or down. This will help you to break earlier.
Well... Derail valley is definitely a grind. I'm getting back into it... But it's hard to find hours at the same time to play a game. I tried a shunting mission and I'm not tremendously up to snuff on navigating the rail yard... Moving cars around and getting them lined up properly. It's harder than it seems...
This is the first video of yours that I've watched and I enjoyed it! I've been hooked on Derail Valley and I'm glad to see it getting a lot of positive coverage of the Simulator update. The derailment you had was also a perfect example of how it can happen so seemingly quickly! You were so fastidious in checking the consist and things, driving sensibly and taking your time, and then got distracted planning your route, missed one speed sign and were promptly thrown onto your side. Also, if you're finding the progression a bit too grindey to get to the licences you want, the 'casual' or easiest difficulty bumps up the base pay and time bonus to 150% Makes progression a lot quicker without feeling broken. Keen to see you play Derail Valley some more, and I'm gonna start going through your videos and subscribe.
i am on normal difficulty. Doesnt feel too grindy. and i dont want to prgress too fst that I lose interests. But welcome to the channel and thanks for the tips
just found you, really liked the video and thinking about buying this myself. I'm so glad you actually think about doing this stuff right, most RUclipsrs just go along without checking for anything like oil temp or handbrakes
Hey Blu, I don't normally do the whole "Like, comment, subscribe" thing, but I really enjoyed watching you play DV and had to support the channel! Loving the videos, and looking forward to seeing more of your DV content 🚂
Been playing this game for the past couple months and I can 100% say you were not taking it slow 😂, even before the sim update with brake fade I keep most of the trains under 50 kph and 30 kph in the corners. Though a big tip is you can get hooked up to your cars you wanna haul before you accept the job in the office, makes it a lot easier to get the time bonus early on
@@BluGames 1. The new “Simulator” update that just came out models brake fade now so if you overhear the brakes the train won’t stop 2. The jobs all have unique numbers like HB-SM-11 and you can look around the yard for the cars associated with it. After you play for a while you start to learn where certain cars will be, for example at the harbour you’ll find empty cars primarily in the G and D yards, E Yard is where you typically put all the finished loads or drop offs that you bring in. There’s more to it but the game is very predictable and if you take the time to learn it you can be far more efficient, oh and you can hang onto the paperwork for a job and run around the yard to get it sorted then go back to the office and turn it in to start the job, typically super useful for shunting or setting up a big haul with multiple jobs.
I have 243 hours in this game since it first launched. They have made leaps and bounds improvements since the early days. Simulator is absolutely incredible especially in VR!
I mean I learned about brake fade while driving an automatic car somewhat carelessly through Australian mountains. this is a much better way to learn about it pro tip: don't ride the brake pedal downhill, put the gearbox lever into like "2" instead of "D", allows engine-braking. YMMV depending on what on earth your gearbox selector looks like
I dont know if someone told you yet but its not E20 its E2O its the Letter O not the number 0 it stands for outbound. The I is not a 1 but again the letter i for inbound. The letter L is for loading. And the S is for storage. They are not numbers they tell you what is parked on that track if its a cargo haul to another trainstation or if its a track where you put the cargo when you arrive. When you do shunting jobs you take cargo from inbound tracks take to loading tracks and then put the cars into storage tracks or the other way around. Thats why there are the letters in the end. They are not numbers. Its 2 outbound and not 20. its 3 inbound and not 31.
And in theory you dont need a license to run multiple locos. You can run 2 and jump in between them the entire time and make sure they are doing fine. You can also take one, connect it to the remote control and sit in the other one. Controlling the one with the controller and the other one from inside the loco.
And another thing. The red and green arrows have nothing to do with the incline. It singals an upcoming speed limit change that is 20kmh or more higher or lower then the current one (red means next speed limit is 20kmh or more lower then the current one, so if you have a 60 with a red arrow it means the next speed limit will be 40 or slower) that gives you time to brake down when 80 to get back down to 40 before the sharp turn comes around
If your job application is denied or you get "in progress" the job description/booklet is still in your inventory, so you can use it again to get/complete the job.
Derail valley is grindy BUT, it is a blast when you buy that train you wanted to drive, I recommend that you wach some tutorials for the steam locomotive and the Dm3. (Sorry for my bad English)
I would love for it to be Multiplayer as well, I know there is a mod, but not the same, also I derailed the same area, I also didn't see the 3 sign right before the tunnel 🙂
Can anyone help me? I tried the sandbox mode and I can't drive many of the trains! I keep getting a message that I need to buy a license or something? I'm so confused as I thought sandbox always meant that I wasn't playing the main career or achievement mode. Did I misunderstand or am I just missing a setting or something. Please help. I was so excited to avoid the grind of the main game and I sold on this new sandbox/simulator they've pushed for the last year. So sad. Thanks.
@@hondarider100ri got my hazmat right after the dm3 and did a job for 60k got the 30k bonus and it paid for itself in 1 trip so i could get dh4 and multi unit in one go and take 2 hazmat 1 jobs for 60k and 30k and got the bonus for both again and now i can pretty much do whatever
I’ve had this since it was alpha and they have come a long way and it’s magnificent .
Yes a loooong way
Blu: "I've been taking it easy".
Also Blu: Going 60 past a 30-sign 😆
Hahahah i had no idea

2 questions..
1. “brake fade”?
2. How do u know which cars are your before u get the paperwork?

It is a ton a fun
Blu just like trains and that's a beautiful thing
I do
It's a "GO" for a series on Derail Valley! I've enjoyed your commentary!

Your commentary was very interesting and the derail was epic!
I can’t wait to see this! Hopefully can catch the premiere.
Still in the middle of the video but wanted to say that's not E 20 it's E2O as in yard E second ladder and O for outbound lol

Thank you I will
great channel , glad I found ya !
Thank you! I hope u enjoy the whole series
Shunting is definitely the best way to go to make money fast and have really low fees
Im starting to learn that now
Add a zero to all speed signs for the limit. So, a 10 is 100KPH.
Now i know haha thanks
Great video, really enjoyed watching this game....may buy it 👍
Its alot of fun
I saw that 30k and half freaked lol. This game is fun. I am not a big rail fan and I got bored of TSW really fast. This seems to be holding me though
Wow thats surprising to hear from someone whos not really into trains that much
I would love for it to be Multiplayer as well, I know there is a mod, but not the same, also I derailed the same area, I also didn't see the 3 sign right before the tunnel 🙂
jeeez i did not see it coming seriously!. I saw multiplayer on the road map but thats atleast a year away sadly
Hey man like your videos keep it up
Hey Thanks so much!!
Does this simulator work with the rail driver hardware?
No.. bit i hear theres a mod u can download that will allow it to work. I havent tried it yet

Hey, The reason you derailed you missed the 30kh sign while you were looking at station maps.🤣
Finally got enough money to buy the DE6 wooo lol
Wow!!! Im still working on it
