I have to say this is proving to be the best PS tutorials I've ever seen, you are an excellent teacher and everything is perfectly clear, thank you Aaron.
Aaron, such a legend - thanks so much for these videos. I unfortunately encountered a minor problem where I couldn't find the 'Foreground To Background' option after clicking the Gradient Editor. If anyone can't find 'Foreground To Background' please see here: 1. Click on 'Gradient Editor' 2. Look at presets - click Basic 3. You will a square with white to transparent Every time I click Gradient Editor it doesn't show all the previews like in the video, it just shows the folders you have to dig through. Took me some time!
Great tutorials! I'm starting to see how mastering Photoshop is about 50% technical know how and 50% artistic ability. We need to grow in both areas to really produce quality work.
If you're using a later newer version of Photoshop, and you can't get the gradient tool to work like he's using it, select Classic Gradient. Then it should work
I would like to give you the title " Photoshop Guru" most user-Friendly. I have spend money on Photoshop courses but the content is not even close to yours. What I most like your 3 days is there is almost no BS, blah blah blah, just to the important points and explanations are simple even a 2nd grader can understand and learn. Thanks a lot for taking time for creating these courses.
Just wanted to leave a big thumbs up here. Not watching your channel for a long time, yet, but this 30 days of Photoshop nails it! I am using PS and LR for years already, and still I learn in every single of your videos. Thanks! Already excited for the rest of the month!
I'm a totally self-taught PS user. And after seven or eight years, I think I'm getting pretty good at it. But as an autodidact you miss a few things, and I am now working through the entire 30-day series. I am very surprised how much I am still learning. This is going to help me a lot! Thank you Aaron, life just got a bit more fun! 👊🏻
Is anyone else following along with Photoshop Elements? It seems to be working pretty well with only a few tools that are inactive. If you're using Elements you can go to Enhance>Adjust Color>Adjust Curves to follow along but honestly Aaron's explanation of Levels seems to be plenty for a hobbyist like myself. Thanks for the videos!
Still learning, I have always had a difficult time understanding Curves, even though you explained it very well. I know one day i will master it more. Thank you so much for explaining it in a very well thought-out way to users like me! I appreciate your content and all of your amazing work that you do, you are an inspiration to continue to create. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of the community and for teaching us to grow our creative skills through your teachings! Special thanks to the amazing team as well!!!
Hi Larry! Thanks so much for your kind words. They mean a lot! Learning something new takes a lot of patience, keep phlearning and you'll master Photoshop in no time!
I’m on day 8 and I’ve learned so much already thank you so much for these videos! You are so easy to listen too and I don’t fall asleep like I have done watching other RUclips channels 😂 that gradient tip will come in so handing when editing my landscapes!!!
Now, that the perfect amount of information in one class. Pace was good. Much easier to follow than the Selections class. I did notice that your gradient drop-down menu was different than mine; I am using Photoshop 2020. Mine just showed the gradient style under gradient-basic-then box for style. After some exploring, I think mine was a little easier. Whew. I am still super grateful for this 30 day class! Thank you.
I wanted to do these in January but was too busy to keep up. Now that I have time,,,,, this is an amazing series. Useful information and very well paced
really enjoying this, evenytho I am doing it at my way (3 days in your one day course ) , I , a real beginner ,had problems with other RUclips videos, when they are dispersed everywhere without order , thank you for sharing this step by step comprehensive course, appreciate this
Aaron, thank you and congratulations for this series. You have come up with the most complete, thorough, easy and understandable tutorials about this topics so far in the youtube platform. I strongly suggest to anyone interested in learning to continue learning from Phlearn by you tube and by purchasing his programs. I already have. Cheers and continue the great work. Daniel
Thank you 🙏 you keep it simple and do an awesome job explaining everything. I like how you dont even make a copy of the original background like most people do and then work on that copy. You show how you can change the original without touching it at all
Excellent Aaron. I really appreciated the side by side comparison of levels and curves. I've always that they locked 20 developers in a room and each came up with their own way to do something in Photoshop. They didn't want to say no so everyone thing was included. Aargh. Choice is nice but sometimes they go to far. I feel a little better 'armed' to tackle these adjustment tools and you've set me with understanding what I'm supposed to do, whether or not I get there we'll see :-) Thank you
Great video as usual, thanks! I heard that the best way to get best black and white result was to use the curve, chose mode color and pull down the curve on the right side. Do you agree? What is the best way according to you?
Very well done! The clarification you gave between the Levels and Curves tool was awesome: they do the same thing, but Curves gives you more control. You touched on Color Theory a little bit. Would be beneficial to do a video on the basis of color theory for those new to Ps since so much of these tools rely upon it.
as a novice/non pro, it would seem that the levels are maybe a bit safer and forgiving than curves.... I feel like things can start getting out of hand quickly when I use curves. however, the hand tool in curves looks super useful and might be enough to make me lean toward learning curves and making them my "go to". thanks! great series! much appreciated!
Thanks learning heaps. I am using my own photos, which sometimes do not fully match the nuances of your photos. I have used the adjustment layers to enhanced a recent photo of the sun setting over the National Library here in Canberra - Australia. I captured the smoke from the fires, some 60+ Kms away.
"If you just use curves for the rest of your life or just levels for the rest of your life you really wouldn't be missing out." I believe this is the first Photoshop statement I've ever heard that was both 100% True and 100% False at the same time. :-)
Your tutorials are great, simple and straight to the point! Question, when I use the hand tool in the image to modify the curve, my curve window closes and I do not see how it modifies the curve live (I have to reopen it). How do you keep it open? Thanks!
Thanks for the tutorial, it's very interesting. Could you clarify the difference in levels in terms of in put and out put. In the case of curves, only the values of in and out appear as the curve moves
For whatever reason my version of PS 2020's gradient tool doesn't look similar to yours at the 13:46 mark. It's solid grey instead of light gray to dark black. Anyone here can assist as to why? I've selected "foreground to transparent" and foreground colour is set to white as Aaron instructed but my gradient is solid.
How are you liking 30 Days of Photoshop so far? Well, we're having a blast making it! Be sure to follow the link in the description to sign up!
Love it, and I have a playlist made of these tutorials thus far so that I can go back and easily rewatch them if necessary :)
Its amazing! Im very thankful for this knowledge that you gave us in such interesting way :D Aaron- you are fantastic!
PHLEARN your work is excellent and I’m enjoying the series so far. Well done!
I thought this course was a joke, but it's real and I've been following regularly, It's really helping me a lot
PHLEARN learning so much. You are an awesome teacher!
RUclips wants more teachers like you...Teacher who actually knows their stuff and know how to teach

You are the best photoshop instructor on RUclips! I love how you explain each tool you’re using. Thanks for all that you do!
You explain photoshop so well! Every time I watch one of your tutorials I learn something new.
If you're using a later newer version of Photoshop, and you can't get the gradient tool to work like he's using it, select Classic Gradient. Then it should work
Thanks for the advice was trying to find out why isn't it working. Appreciate it!

I've seen lots of explanations of curves and levels. This was the best. I almost actually understand now.
I wanted to do these in January but was too busy to keep up. Now that I have time,,,,, this is an amazing series. Useful information and very well paced

Bloody awesome, sir! I have been using PS for a couple of years (as a rank amateur) and now understand how to use curves and levels.
Great video, got the intro to curves and levels
Excellent Aaron. I really appreciated the side by side comparison of levels and curves. Thank you for this tutorial, you're the best!
loving these adjustments!
I never really comment but you're a great teacher!
Been waiting on this one for a loooong time! #NotificationSquad
You go through these lessons so fast! And I can't watch on an Ipad, I have to use a large screen to see the very small moves you make sometimes.
Awesome stuff Aaron! Really appreciate it
Great video as usual, thanks!

Awesome Teacher.... Please try to make a brand new tutorial on Adobe Illustrator tooo......
Thanks for the great videos .

Always wanted to do this:))
If you were a golf coach, everyone would be playing off a single figure!😉👍🏻 - really like your teaching style.
Thumbs UP, great tutorial!
