Sammy and Tommy ... as a Greek American, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the road less travelled ... and for showing everyone a richer and fulfilling way to see Greece.
I agree! I am also a Greek American and have found so many great places to visit ! My father is from Nafpaktos. We road trip to Nafpaktos, Lefkada, and then to Parga in 2019. It was amazing!
There IS stuff to see in Sparta. Like many Greek cities there's the modern city Sparti, then there's the ancient ruins close by, and there's also the medieval town (called Mystras) which is one of the best preserved Byzantine remains and a UNESCO world heritage site. The locals who told you that are poorly informed.
Monemvasiá is an amazing place and it’s rich in History. The first people settled there were from Sparta. The city was a port of great importance because the travellers from the Hellenic cities in Sicily (called Sikelía) were passing from there when they were travelling. After that, the area was very important during the Byzantine era and the old ruins and the churches were built by the Emperial family of Palaiologos, Emperors in Constantinople!

Nafpaktos is my father's home. He was born and raised there. It's beautiful!! Castle was closed when I was there too! :( thanks for sharing! I have only been there once in 2019 right before covid. Love your channel!! :)
I'm so thankful to you people i got so emotional watching this. You visited two places that I used to go there as a kid when traveling from the states to Greece. Longos in Peloponnese was close to my mother's town we used to go there in the summer so beautiful. And then Kalavrita my father's home town. It's where the nazis back in world War 2 where he lost a lot of young people and friends. God I remember when my dad used to tell me stories. I got so emotional when I watched your video. God bless you. Thank you again so much 💐
At the opposite site (north) of Monemvasia rock is a trail path that is awesome! It's visible at 22:00 of the video. It starts from the bridge and drives you to the lighthouse. In case of high waves and strong winds is not recommended.
Love your videos and both of you.You missed my city Patra 10km next to the Rio Antirio bridge .It was an excellent time to go because of the Carnival.Patra is the Queen city of carnival in Greece.💙💙

Incredible place! What an amazing view you guys had from the window, I'm sure in high season that room would cost like 350 USD per night haha... Little Sunshine was so lovely 😊, private catguide 😁
I am sure you're right and that price goes way up but we were there in the offseason for a reason. Little Sunshine was an amazing guide 😂 If you want to book her when you visit, I have a contact humber 😉
Thank you very much for showing my beautiful country with a unique way and not showing only the islands. There are more things to do and see than the islands and going to Metsovo, Zagori , Diakofto and Monemvasia was the best thing to do. Thank you also for the respect and great way that you presented the Holocaust Monument, is part of our history and we must honor the war victims.
Hallo Sammy & Tommy, thank your for the amazing videos in Greece. The Peloponnes is my homeland ❤️ Please make more trips around Greece!!! The list of destinations is endless.

Finally found people who know how to make an interesting video…well done guys , I don’t usually watch videos this long but yours kept me interested. I’ve been researching Greece for 2 years…going in September. I found MONEMVASIA very early and as I’m an artist it’s one of the places I’m most interested in Visiting. I’ll spend a month on the PELOPPONESE…so much to see and I’ll check out more of your videos in the coming days…good job.

OMG!!!! I LOVE your video!! My boyfriend & myself will be in Greece for 2 months this spring visiting from Canada & also will take the road less travelled
I note these latest videos are filmed in March 2020. I keep waiting for Sammy and Tommy to catch first word of COVID. So nice to see life before all this tragedy.
The first time we heard about it was actually in Vietnam. They shut down all the schools for a couple weeks while we were there. We had no idea what was about to happen though. More details in next weeks video 👍
Just discovered this channel, nice vlog, some great places, me and my wife have been to most of the places you guys have visited, but last year we went to Andorra, loved it so much, heading back again this year. Well worth a visit during the late summer months, the alpine walks are incredible. They've got the world's longest alpine slide too which is brilliant.
Can you tell me what time of year you did this trip? We like how its not so crowded. I love your channel! You guys are very funny and entertaining haha and informative.
It's good that you have visited MonemvasiA (actually stressed in the last A) at this time of the year. From June to September, all its shops, bars and restaurants are open, the town is packed with tourists and you have to ellbow your way through the narrow streets to get by.
Monemvasia one of my favorite places but I never had a good meal there and not just the old Town. Really strange only place in greece I didn't like food. Not including hotel of course. I stayed in old Town and hotel had a wonderful breakfast.
By accident or recomendation of the youtube i found your channel. I was showing it to my foreign girlfriend woman to be . Did you notice in the Kalavryta city the greek flag was in the middle of the mast . You know what is this mean is the respect for the dead as a repect . Thank so much for showing the non touristic places of Greece even that you havent approached the northern part of my county as the Makedonia and Evros area . I wish you the best and hope you come again .
I am a new subscriber! I just saw one video and hooked. Watched full Greece series. I just have one question 🙋♂️ how did you manage to shoot the train drone shot without missing the train?
Thanks so much! Glad you’re enjoying our videos! Appreciate the sub! Good question, the train was tricky. I was one of the first to get off the train so I could set up my camera and drone to get it leaving and then reversing the clip on post to make it seem as it’s arriving 😉
@@SammyandTommy you have some amazing drone footages. You should make some asmr drone shots only videos with soulful soothing music. I could keep them running all day on my tv.
Also thanks for explaining the train shot! That is a lot of effort and hard work. The quality of your videos show that. I also really loved the sunrise and sunset Timelapses. That also takes quite an effort. And waking up early and running around to not miss the sunset. I am genuinely grateful and appreciative to all the hard work. Wish you all the success.
583A.C is not that old for the Greece's standards. It's not even ancient for us considering that there are ruins or well preserved ancient structures with age of 3000-4000 years.
True indeed. However. Greece has also the oldest and largest untouched medieval towns and walled cities in the world like Rhodes and Monemvasia. And the fact it's medieval means it's from a certain period. Greece has therefor the oldest in the medieval period in the world. But it has ofcourse ancient period which is incredible, bronze age period which is incredible (Minoan, Mycenean, Cycladic, Helladic all from a period of 3650-1200 BCE), and an impressive neolithic before that.
@@Ptolemy336VV Exactly. Greece has incredible medieval and early modern monuments, from Rhodes' medieval city, to baroque Corfu Town to Thessaloniki's art deco buildings, to the impressive ruins of medieval castles that dot the whole Peloponnese....and some Greeks just don't appreciate them because they're "not that old". That mentality destroyed Athens' 19th century neoclassical city center in the 1960s.
