    Love your simple, yet attractive method to wrap a raw rock that has no drilled holes. I always worry about the stone slipping, but your method quells my fears! Great idea and great job!! Thank you so very much!

    • @HeatherBoydWire
      @HeatherBoydWire  Год назад +1

      Thank you. If you curve the wire a bit it may help to hold the stone in place. You can use round pliers for this. They also sell nylon tipped round nose pliers if you are worried about scratching the wire. Hope this helps.

    Hi Heather. Do I need to size up the ring before i wrap it properly? does it lose much of its internal circumference while wrapping it

    • @HeatherBoydWire
      @HeatherBoydWire  2 года назад +1

      It shouldn't lose any internal circumference. Good luck.

    I tried this so many times and couldn’t keep my stone in the wire. I also am using beach glass maybe that’s the issue!

    • @HeatherBoydWire
      @HeatherBoydWire  4 месяца назад

      Hi Syndey. The 16g wire is quite stiff and can be difficult to work with. I would recommend using a smooth stone with this design.

    Nice design. I was all set to follow your tutorial until I realized it would not hold up (and possibly not even hold the stone) on a long term basis. How do you harden the wire once you've 'set' the stone to keep the wires from bending? Those 'cut' wires on the back are begging to be scratchers/catchers. I had hoped for a design that was both beautiful and practical for actual wear. Please post a functional finished product.

    • @HeatherBoydWire
      @HeatherBoydWire  3 года назад +1

      Thank you. You can file the ends or use a wire reamer to round them off. I know people harden the wire with a mallet. The 16 g wire I used is quite stiff so holds up well. Good luck.

      This is a tricky design. It's difficult to make rings with cabochons that do not have holes. Good luck.
