A good thing to try might be them at the beginning of their career....say the 1969 Danmark Radio show (there are 5 songs....How Many More Times is a great one)......or 1970 Royal Albert Hall - any number of songs....pick one! The best Dazed is MSG 1973....but maybe try something earlier first.
When The Levee Breaks! (Studio version to get the layering of amazing sounds!) No matter what you pick, you can’t go wrong so eventually you will do them all 😂❤ They are THE greatest of all time! 🐐
the best way to do zep is go from track 1 album 1, im not joking and you WILL understand if you do it! alot of live stuff has been pulled from youtube :( they were untouchable live though
Woh hold up... Dazed and Confused LIVE??? Brilliant brilliant brilliant BUT some live performances are 20 minutes plus plus plus! You might want to do the studio version just so you know the boundaries of the song and then you know when they go off piste live! 😂😂😂 Especially given the format of your reaction video, length of performance might be an issue 😉
...as others have said, chronological is a great idea -- we'll watch all of them hahaha -- and maybe find your favorites live to compliment the studio... either way, nice reactions, I'll be back for some more...
Live is great but the problem is, there is actually little live footage that includes video, it's mostly audio. By just doing live that includes video of them actually performing, you're going to miss most of the songs in their catalogue. That, and you'll miss out on the production genius of Page (guitarist) in the studio. He was an absolute wizard. The only way to dive into Zeppelin is to do both. In fact, what you just watched is the video from one live performance set to the audio of another live performance because there just isn't any video of them performing "Immigrant Song" that includes both. Another example is "Babe, I'm Going to Leave You". The only video with audio of a live performance is an old black and white version of a four-song performance they did for a "studio audience" and while it was very good, the studio version is much better. Believe me when I say that for old die-hard Led Zeppelin fans, it's depressing just how little video there is of them performing live. ;) Edit: In any case, if you're going to do a serious dive into Led Zeppelin, it's best to start with album 1, track 1 and keep on going. Most recommendations are of their "biggies" but there are so many excellent songs on those albums, some of which they never even performed live. It would be a shame if you didn't hear them. ;)
You say rigth...The legendary Jhon Bonhan...One of the best drumer all of time. All of them are legendary. Page, Plant, Jones....The version lives are very good. All the concert, all the songs of the concert in Madison Square Garden, 1973 are perfect. Daze and confused is long, more long that studio versión, all songs are more long, but is so impresionant to see them in the scenary. I love so much Zepp live, 1973, 1975 to in Earl Courts...In My time of dying is amazing...
This is definitely the best version! Every live performance is different, even of the same song. Incredible improvisation and guitar solos in the live songs.
Discovered them a few weeks ago. After listening to rock music for all my life. Just wondering what an enchantment it must have been back then for the people who never heard of such a word as "heavy metal" or "hard rock"... This band is BIG.
Another G.O.A.T. guitarist is Stevie Ray Vaughan, Check out his "Texas Flood", Live from El Macombo. or "Voodoo Chile" from Austin Texas, He is dressed in black in the thumb nail.
Live is great, but they have so many great songs, literally like 100... and they don't have (good) live versions of nearly all of it... That said, go for it the way you like, but I would suggest at least with your favorites that you do the studio version also... we'll watch both ;-) If you are curious, the Royal Albert Hall concert is online in full... maybe break it up into 2 or 3 videos and react to that?? It's early in their career, I think '69 or '70...
If you do Dazed and Confused live, Please do the 1973 version from MSG. I know it's a long song, "27 minutes" but it is iconic. The 69 live version is good just not this good. The "69" live version they were still babies when it came to performing and it's is a bit rough around the edges. So I personally prefer the longer version not as much for the length but for the performance quality. Oh why live is also often better is Page and Plant really liked to improvise live and add a lot of stuff to the song. often on the spot. For example, the guitar solo at the end of this song is not on the studio version. The Dazed and Confused live I mentioned is 3x as long as the studio. So they added a ton of stuff in that. You heard the Screech ound part either from Shrek 3, The School of Rock or Thor Ragnorok.
Zeppelin helped shape the sound of Hip Hop. Listen to When The Levee Breaks and pay attention to the drums. It's been sampled and copied a bunch. It was recorded with Bonzo set up in a stairwell with microphones set several stories high and then run through a compression device. There's a video about it. Jimmy Page performed on a P Diddy track too.
GOAT status for Jimmy or anyone doesn't matter. There were/are relatively better but if I was only allowed one to listen to forever? It'll be Jimmy Page. He had the best riffs and coolest sound, people accuse him of sloppiness but he was experimenting on the fly so sometimes it's messy, other times it's magic.
There's a long list of great guitarist. Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix innovated and that's part of what makes them stand out. Alvin Lee, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Gary Moore, etc, etc.
70's thank God he didn't put a shirt on 😄😍😍Yes John got Robert through the horrific loss of a child being a Mum and Nana I don't know how Robert got through well I don't think he ever did especially when you listen to some of his interviews you know he hasn't Bonham is an amazing drummer just look at him! Paige is a fab guitar but unfortunately arrogance spoiled it for me. For me it's Angus Young
If you’re loving these Zeppelin songs, you should def check out some other amazing southern rock/blues influenced bands like… The Allman Brothers Band The Black Crowes ZZ Top The Rolling Stones Black Sabbath Trust me when I say you won’t be disappointed ✌🏻❤&🤘🏻on!
Who EVER said Jimi Hendirx is the best gituar player? Not even Jimi said that - he said that Jimmy or the Ten Years After singer gituarist and one other i dont remember are propably the best and didnt even have himself on the display! (- he didn't wanna come to Woodstock if the last 2 i've mentioned wouldn't have come, because then it would have been "worthless" he said, even with him)
If you haven't already, Subscribe and join me down this Led Zeppelin rabbit hole!! Also should I do Dazed and Confused next or something else?

Nice reaction brother, every time I see one of your generation loving the greatest rock group of all time… It gives me hope for the future
Every song is unbelievable!! I'm the ultimate Zeppelin fan!
So far so good!! 6/6
Takes one to know one!! Me too! There are many of us. Music, interviews, books, bootlegs.
So much great material with Led Zeppelin. It's addictive! Go thru album by album. Ramble On... tis one of my faves.
You absolutely picked the right version and Bonham is my number 1 drummer
msg 73 is pretty much gone from youtube but royalk albert hall 1970 and denmark radio 69 are still up. both are AWESOME gigs!
I still find it
@@juliemanarin4127 I find some of it but wll and dazed are gone. Also tarts and the rain song the video has gone but the audio is still up iirc
Another live from Zeppelin to check out is "In My Time Of Dying", Earls Court 1975...a fave performance of mine from anyone ever for sure 👍
You can never go wrong, listening to Zeppelin,.
Great band!!

Zeppelin is the best live! Right choice!

You should go in chronological order so you don't miss anything glad you're doing this
Oh hell yes.. Sydney Cricket Stadium, early 70s.
1972
This is definitely the best version! Every live performance is different, even of the same song. Incredible improvisation and guitar solos in the live songs.
I’m starting to see that!!
Robert was voted “Best Chest in Rock and Roll “. I love his chest out❤❤❤❤❤❤
Discovered them a few weeks ago. After listening to rock music for all my life. Just wondering what an enchantment it must have been back then for the people who never heard of such a word as "heavy metal" or "hard rock"... This band is BIG.
Do live version of "In my time of dying"!!
Keep on playing some Led Zeppelin!!!
i would highly recommend the album version of Ramble On,
Honestly they don’t have a bad song. Start from their first album.
Another G.O.A.T. guitarist is Stevie Ray Vaughan, Check out his "Texas Flood", Live from El Macombo. or "Voodoo Chile" from Austin Texas, He is dressed in black in the thumb nail.
Robert is a mystical music genius ❤
Literally
First time I saw them was 1969 Fillmore East N.Y

Check out How Many More Times live. Either from Denmark radio or their Royal Albert Hall 1970 performance.
Heard 🫡
John and Neil, 2 best drummers ever.
In Rock, perhaps. There are other drummers in other genres....don't assume rock is the only place for drumming greatness
Do more Zepp, anything live from Madison square gardens id good!! Of course you heard this song, it's been in different movies

Agree regarding Jimmy Page in the top 2 of GGPOAT -- for me it's Jimi Hendrix 1st, Page 2nd...great reaction 👍
Thank you 🖤🫶🏾
Achilles last stand knebworth 1979 ! Brill ❤
You have the right version here for sure.
Check out "When the Levee Breaks"
I really recommend sticking to the studio versions, especially if you do Dazed and confused, which is the greatest achievement of mankind
There's a long list of great guitarist. Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix innovated and that's part of what makes them stand out. Alvin Lee, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Gary Moore, etc, etc.
Do the dazed and confused version from MSG 1973. Mind blowing
Bet

I have listened to all of the best rock guitar players and Jimmy Page is the greatest 😮
Jimmy Page is the BEST!! He steals my attention too! Can’t take my eyes off him ❤

Page = GOAT
do stairway to heaven live , great guitar solo on that one
Was this live or is it the studio version used with a collection of film clips from one of Zeppelin's concerts?
😅 you may be right
The 'screeching sound' as you call it, is meant to be a Viking war cry. The h in Bonham is not pronounced. Think Bonam.
Check out Stevie ray vaughn Texas flood live

What you heard was the studio version. Live footage was cleverly edited into it. I don't hate this, but I think you should know the truth.
Live is always better! They never played a song live the same way always improvising
Thor used it
Thor movie
Page is great but my favourite is Gilmour
OUCH! John Bonham is "NICE"? Please, in the 70's that word was considered PATHETIC and if you said it to someone it was a covert MEGA INSULT.
