"Immigrant Song" is probably the Zep song that is most famous for its use in movies. It was used in "School of Rock," "Shrek the Third," and "Thor: Ragnarok." It always catches the ear and is a highlight whenever it is used.

    Yes, Valhalla.
This was inspired by a Led Zeppelin trip to Iceland and is written about the Viking invasion of England.
    "Valhalla I am coming"
"On we sweep with threshing oar, our only goal will be the western shore"
"We come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun, where the hot springs flow"
    "We are your overlords"
Not exactly pleasant lyrics, but it's what happened. Bloody invasion by men in longboats who wielded axes.

It was about the People of the North, the Germanic Peoples, from their experiences when they first burst on the Scene outside of England, (in America it was Boston) then in Northern Europe, Northern Germany, (there is a Home Movie they made of their Travels) Denmark, Sweden, Iceland and Norway, and you know this story, they had to change their Name because of the Zeppelin Family objected to it use without consent, Countess Von Zeppelin eventually consented.

Jimmy Page proved he already played an opening very similar to Stairway when he was guest guitarist on a song called Ice Cream Dreams by a band called Cartoone. This was in 1968 BEFORE Led Zeppelin ever went to America age shared a bill with Spirit a few times.
The chord progression is as old as the hills. It goes back hundreds of years. Spirit didn't invent them. 😂

The freaking song is over 50 years old and no one EVER heard of the other song except for this law suit. And the other song pretty much sux if you ever heard it. Even the dude who wrote the other song never sued Zeppelin over it. His family did after he died on a money grab attempt that failed. Get over it all ready. It never ceases to amaze me why people who don't like something, will click on it just to hate on it. If I don't like something, I don't listen/watch it. It says volumes about you that you enjoy doing this. Haters gonna hate.

To comment on your statement about their talents given the times with no autotune, no production effects, horrible equalization, very limited channel interaction, and bad time sequence adjustment capabilities...you have the capability to see these legends play in a modern-era setting via the Celebration concert videos, but even here, the band specifically ordered the audio team to not doctor the sound, to leave it as raw as possible with only the considerations of the mix placement and venue specific adjustments to ensure everyone hears the sound being produced and not run into issues with echo or noise cancelation. Plant's words paraphrased were, "they paid to hear us, all our flaws included, not a bloody computer. It is the imperfections that give a concert life of its own, differentiating it from other concerts. Let's do our part and give them what they paid for".
I know you have reacted to the song Kashmir before, but the version from the Celebration tour is epic for all the reasons noted and for the added reasons of longevity and the incredible story of the drummer's son being on stage playing an epic concert with his dad's bandmates, the legends that they are, and doing so not just in a fitting manner, but an epic performance of a lifetime himself.

Probably the most famous LZ song except for 'Stairway to Heaven' or 'Kashmir'
Kashmir was sampled by Puff Daddy for his track used on the Godzilla movie soundtrack.
You probably heard this on School of Rock or Thor Raganok. I think it was also used in a Shrek movie although I'm not sure which one.

Great reaction to an iconic band and iconic song. You really know how to appreciate music. Def big chance you heard a part of this song before it’s been in so much. Thor Ragnarok, Avengers Infinity War, Shrek, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, School of Rock just to name a few. Keep up all the good work

Very good reaction, there are other led zeppelin songs that are softer and have another atmosphere, also very good like The rain song or going to california or all my love,or the battle of evermore inspired of the lord of the rings

I saw someone else react to this, and they recognized it from Shrek 2. I mean, it's a very famous thing so you might've heard it in a lot of places, but maybe that's it.

Of all of their songs, this has been my favorite since I was a kid some years ago. Not for the popularity of it but waaaaay before it became a theme for Thor and the marvel universe

I would recommend Led Zepplin's "Rain Song" I prefer the studio version, but there is a great live live version with Robert Plant and Jimmy Page with an orchestra. Also, other than the really weird guitar tuning, it's pretty easy to learn to play most of it.
