I like the UVI approach of capturing the preferred presets for each synth then recording the key group details. I’ve rented studio time before I lost a lot of time trying to setup an Oberheim 4 voice. One of the modules lost tuning. So to have a company build preset types that make each synth shine recorded through good AD is definitely a good thing for someone who likes playing vintage synths but can’t be bothered with setup.
Here’s a flex: I had the very first 808 in Canada. Therefore this machine is close to my heart. While there are plenty of good VTS versions like the one from Decimort, the first VST I loaded up from VV 4 was Prime + and I love it
Bought Vintage Vault 4 and like all tbd UVI products this is an amazing addition to my library. I have the Complete Arturia synth library but their soft synths sound okay, in the ball park of the hardware originals, the UVI synth libraries are so lovely sounding and comprehensive it’s easy to forget they’re ROMPLrs. Furthermore Falcon is a beast. UVI smartly let you tweak presets. Naive Instruments don’t always offer this and besides when comparing has nothing on UVI, by any metric
Hi, great video like always. Really like your channel. I have a question though. I have the Program24 which is very similar to Hybrid-6000 and I want to upgrade t VV4 now. But there'S one thing that's really bothering me that could be kind of a deal breaker for me. Not sure though if I miss something or it's just really not there: I cant figure out how to play the separate parts (Drums, Bass, Meldody, Synths...) with my keyboard or adress them from a midi-channel from ableton. When I play a note, it plays the whole arrangement with all parts. And even though they sound awesome, I don't want to sound like everyone else who bought it and want to change them a litte bit (of course, think thats what we all want). So how do I do that? How can I record each part separately to a midi track and then edit it? If its not possible, because its just arpeggios, then how can I make a midi clip and play back only the melody part (for example)? I dont mean solo/mute the parts. I want to use all parts but play back my own notes from midi clips. All I can do is load the single synth parts, but then I lose the awesome arrangement from the main presets. I want to use the combination of sounds but with my own notes. In Multi mode I can add other synths/instruments but thats not what I'm looking for. I really searched for this but cant find a solution and cant believe such a basic function doesn't exist. I have 5 awesome parts (Drums, Bass, Melody, Synth1-3) but cant play them as separate midi tracks? Come on... what's the point then? Press one key and listen to the same presets all over? Really hope this can be done somhow with midi channels or something.
When using the combo patch, the whole patch is on a single MIDI channel. No option of separate channel. In workstation you can load 4 patches on different layers (and MIDI channels). The drum pattern can be exported to a midi track but not the ARPs.

Program 24, Super 7 Hybrid 6000 etc.- not being able to drag and drop arp patterns into DAW to tweak and build song with synths like Emulation II+ allows you to is putting me off. Do you know if they all share same arp patterns or do they all have different ones? I suppose your workaround of routing instrument to another track to record arp pattern is a workaround. Unless there's option to extract arp pattern from Falcon to DAW?

Looking forward to more videos, hopefully you can do one on this subject as seen quite few posts on the Internet about not being able to drag and drop arp patterns into DAW.
@@tokyoskyline1752 same here… wanted to buy VV4 for a long time, but now that I found out that most of them dont support Multi-output for midi its a huge bummer for me. The beautiful multi-presets are useless, because you can only play them back by pressing one note and it just loops the whole thing. Cant make an arrangement from it, so it’s just like a demo-mode if you want so. When loading the single instruments, you lose all the settings from the combo-patch like EQs, FX, mixer settings, filter etc.
I upgraded from 3 to 4 for a greatly reduced price. The discount will depend on how much you have purchased from them in the past, including VV3. Contact them & ask. 👍
Are there new sounds for the existing machines? I already own all but the new devices, I don't think it's worth upgrading for me unless there's new presets. Thanks!

@@tokyoskyline1752 a lot of the arp are the same list. You can also save the arps preset to the hard drive and reload them in another preset.

I just upgraded to 3 on Black Friday…I hope they have a pro-rated upgrade to 4 for recent buyers.

It’s not the same at all. Both have a different sound.
