Excellent western movies! When watching this channel I feel like a 10 year child watching cowboy movies while my parents are out dancing to Marty Robbins and No show Jones music!
I have often thought the same and even considered writing a script for it. The usual disagreement Within the tribe is very stereotyped. I think Neville brand stole the movie and I can't think of any modern-day actor that can hold a candle to him. Well maybe Chris Cooper but I don't know if he'd want to play an Indian.
Read a history 20 years ago titled the Crucible of War [Fred Anderson] which focused on the French and Indian War and its historical relevance. At the outset of the war, 3 empires were contesting the Ohio River valley...the French and their Indian allies, the Iroquois Confederacy and their allies, and the British. Eventually, a PBS series was created based on the book. The book makes for great reading.
"Mohawk." Starring: Scott Brady, Rita Gam, Neville Brand, Lori Nelson, Allison Hayes, John Hoyt, Rhys Williams, Vera Vague, Ted DeCorsia, Mae Clarke, Tommy Cook, John Hudson, Michael Hudson, James Lilburn, &: Chabon Jadi."
A lot of the battle scenes in the last half-hour or so are from DRUMS ALONG THE MOHAWK -- even the Big Chase is from that movie -- made in the 1930s, if I remember correctly, starring Henry Fonda.
Neville brand is my favorite actor and I thought he made a great looking mohawk myself. I happened to be mohawk and I'm the spitting image of my great-great-grandmother. She was my grandmother's grandmother who expected me to identify as Mohawk even though I never set foot on any of the reservations. My grandmother would have been pleased to know that some organizations have counted me as mohawk ignoring my European parts. I think it was to improve their number of minorities that they helped.
+Yustes Peck Jay Silverheels, who played Tonto in the TV version of The Lone Ranger, also played Geronimo in the excellent James Stewart movie "Broken Arrow", a fairly sympathetic treatment of the real story of Cochise. I thought that Silverheels did a very good job of playing the part of a man who was so angry at white people that he thought that Cochise was going soft.
Yes they can. My favorite Indian actor happens to be mohawk. His name is Graham Greene and well worth watching in many movies. He did a lot of guest appearances on TV shows too. There are a good many others too.
At least they could have researched the history....I live next door to Six Nations and my city has a statue dedicated to Mohawk chiefs...what makes you think they lost the war?Treated terribly by colonials for years..not proud of that...would like to see more aboriginal movies made that portray the truth.I am not native but I am respectful of their culture and made a point of learning as much as I could about the Iroquois .My grandchildren are Upper Mohawk,Turtle Clan. They must learn to walk both paths.
Sesrch for Canadian/Australian production movie Black Robe, rare accurate movie about Native Americans, almost all the movie in Mohawk and Algonquin. I trully can name few historically accurate and authentic movies in regards to everything. In 'Mohawk', Goooosh! Natives look so generic, terrible. Cheers form Serbia! Btw, in love with Natives since my early childhood growing up in 70's and 80's.
Jonathon Adams was a real painter who documented the oldest living democracy on Earth, the 6 Nations of the Iroqois. Thomas Jefferson drew much from the study of these people and their true democracy.
colonial govt shafted land grants of Iroquois who helped them in the wars--US wouldn't have won if Oneida hadn't helped them. The Mohawk were on English side and were punished by colonial govt--lands stripped.
Thank you for reminding people of this forgotten history. You know the Mohawk Tribe today is quietly buying back a lot of the land that was taken away from them. If I had the money I'd buy it all back for them. My grandmother said I was the spitting image of her grandmother who they called a mohawk princess. My grandmother really expected me to act mohawk even though I never lived on a reservation.
Burning fire wood in a big pile would never happen .. wood was their source of heat and to cook food .. if the rest of the movie is untruthful as this I'm out of here at 4:54 I was born and grew up in the Mohawk Valley N.Y. .. still have cousins on St. Regis Res This movie was shot on a ranch in N.Calif .. looks nothing like central New York

boy did these westerns suck! After the first 10minutes I had to speed through the rest. AND the B.S. fight scene at 39:00 was the clincher to stop watching.
It's a Pity that you didn't finish it. Even with the stereotyping it's a good movie and even has some comedy in it. Give it a chance. Neville brand alone is reason enough to watch it.
In spite of the comments or the questions that does not give them the right to make unprovoked war or covet what is not theirs.I was looking at some documentary of what George Bush and his bullying buddies that causes and casualties.Every time Election is around or coming up there is something some countries did and they would have to pay with their life.

Thank you very very much man !
Neville Brand was one of the most decorated people of WW2. All you hear about is Audie Murphy. Neville was a great character actor. RIP.
Goodness didn't even recognize Neville Brand. I enjoyed this. Re-written and redone this could be a great movie now.
Love it.
thanks for sharing, as I enjoyed watching it. :)

can't hollywood find real Indians.
+Charles Obeng No, real indians are bad actors.

Jay Silverheels was a Mohawk from the St. Regis Res in upstate N.Y.

Jannet Lane, right on!!!--- from author of :"Pots Did Stop"
I would have liked to watch this movie but the whole thing is blurry.
maybe I am tainted by the evil times we live in. I love seeing the white man and indians woman in love and not being prejudiced
I SAW THIS MOVIE THE YEAR OF IT'S RELEASE,1956, NOT 1952, ON HOLLYWOOD BLVD. EVEN AS A 10 YR OLD, I REALIZED THAT HER NAME WASN'T RITA GAM FOR NOTHIN
AND still I'd rather pay $11 to see this on the big screen as oppose to the garbage made today.
um filme tao bom, precisa ser dublado ou legendado em portugues.

In French it's called "L'Attaque de Fort Douglas"
Merci western mania

I only know that because I was looking for the movie poster and the best one was the French one :-)
O melhor fica por conta de RIta Gam. Ela faz uma índia Mohawk sensual e exuberante.
Interesting. Not at ALL historically accurate and more than a bit racist but eh.
desejo com legendas em português brasil
These movies are of such poor quality, why bother uploading them. Most of them are unwatchable. Even allowing for their age.
