    Came for the fluid bed sluice, but was pleasantly surprised by your "mule," for I too have used my touring bicycle to go prospecting with light weight sluices and pans.

    Great video! Your pup is great too! I used to have the same fluidbed recon, they're definitely light and packable. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to see the capture tray to see if it was classifying and setup right. I have a few traditional sluice boxes but also have two GreenMountain Gold Traps. They're completely transparent lexan and work great, although much heavier than the recon. I use the same parts washer to classify! Thanks for sharing 🇺🇸👍⛏️🍻

    If your finding the lead your digging in the right spot for heavies and your equipment is working. Right? I been finding a ton of lead but not much gold lol

    Another great video. Would you prefer the Recon over the Gold Fox Mini Monster?

    • @RemOutdoors
      @RemOutdoors  Год назад

      Hi Ed, they both have their place honestly. The recon needs enough water flow/pressure to work correctly. The gold fox doesn’t. Due to weight I prefer the recon if I can get away with it. Yes you have to classy it it makes up for it in speed of running material and cleanup. Also less gear to haul in and out. The recon has proven to catch fine flour gold I can’t see. They both have their trade offs .when the water slows down I will be back to using the gold fox for sure.

      @@RemOutdoors I was hoping that I didn't waste my money on the the gold fox. Now I know it's good I have both. I bought the Golf fox because it's portability then I saw your review if the recon. Thanks for responding.

    you should have added the green one in the back of the one you were testing to see how much gold you were losing

      Nate Dawg ~There are 3 companies that manufacture “fluid bed river sluices” in the USA:: Grizzly Gold Trap, Green Mountain Gold Trap, and Snake River Products(this company sells stands with legs). I do not own one yet. Would you happen to know which of the 3 companies has the best quality ones for catching gold.?? Thank you for any help is appreciated.

    What do you do with all your real fines. Do you sell them or melt them down

      So far I’m just keeping them. I might sell or melt down at some point.

    I like this setup better….lighter,easier to pack,and you can run a lot more material in a short time a lot easier….when are you gonna teach Ms Echo how to classify?

  • @robs9574

    Might compare just speed panning to black sands and dumping those cons in a bucket? Just check now and then to make sure you’re still on the gold. The more cons you can make in a day the more gold at the end of it. You might find that time spent classifying and playing with the newest thing is time wasted. I say this from over 30 yrs experience. Respectfully👍 if I may quickly add that I’ve wasted hours of precious daylight classifying overburden chasing a few colors down to the point of sucking them up my snuffer bottle. That’s a huge mistake as it can be done at home at a later time. 3/4” classifier and a well seasoned pan are all you really need. Don’t waste time on overburden, instead find the top of the next flood layer down or better yet bedrock. Sorry for the edit, just wish someone had told me that in the beginning.

      @RemOutdoors  5 месяцев назад +1

      You should check out some of my newer videos. There are time where I do just that with a pro pan. Because this area is so remote and 10 miles one way in for me to carry back a 5 gallon bucket of cons is impossible. The reason why I was doing the overburden is for testing purposes only. There is no piece of equipment faster in this category then the recon or even the expedition. Because of displacement classifying down to a smaller size yields more gold bearing material. Larger classification displaces too much gold bearing material. 1/4 inch the normal 3/8 is perfect. The pro pan is the fastest production pan on the market and does just what you’re saying to do

      @@RemOutdoorsI just ordered the Recon and Leg Kit today. I’ll give it a shot. Really hoping to capture Galena Sulfides to roast and smelt. Primary target is Silver with Gold being bonus. Figure I’ll run at a low angle with frequent clean outs. Fine recovery with fast clean outs sold me. Ty
