So many people that I talk to don't know what exactly color guard is. We don't get recognition in school. They won't consider us a fine art, they won't consider us a sport. Color guard (and marching band) is a whole different world that I hope this video helps show you a little.

I was convincing my neighbor to do color guard. She's not going to Westview, but she's considering doing it and going to her school's band camp and these other activities where they learn how to do guard. I think this video will also help so THANKS ALISON!!!

Honestly colorguard has rlly changed my life. It’s apart of me & I don’t want to stop doing it I love it. This is my first year doing colorguard & I had to take some risks that I’ve never did & I got to try some things that I’ve never did before. Being part of the marching band is like a family & yes band camp might be exhausting but it’s worth it❤️

so many people have invited me to color guard, so i was looking for videos to learn about it, and this video really makes me want to try out after the lockdown
yessss, you definitely should! at least for a year:), that's how long i planned on doing in and then i ended up staying for two years bc i really enjoyed it.

This is my 5th year in winterguard and have completed 2 years of marching band as well. Guard will only get better for. I as well love the family and comradery that we all bring to the table. Stick with it girl. #guardthings
I loved it, too, but it is not my path. While joining was one of my best decisions, leaving was also one of my best decisions. I can truly say I'm thriving now in my senior year without it :D.

@@coopsxo5877 hey guess what! I got into color guard! It’s actually really fun but you get hit a lot lol. You get to meet new people and it’s really great and a lot of excercize

@@coopsxo5877 it’s definitely a learning experience! It’s not too bad if they teach you right the first time (I had 2 teachers this year one didn’t really teach us anything and the other teaches us the safe and proper way)

Colorguard has changed my life. And I am so happy that I chose to join. And this video inspires me so much. Although it is my first year in colorguard I am happy and waiting to do it next year. ❤️😁

I’m in 7th grade and male and I wanna do color guard in high school but I don’t think my parents will take it well at first
if you really want to do it, i'd say go for it still! why do you think your parents won't take it well?

I think the name originated from members of the military who were responsible for holding the flags, essentially guarding the colors of their country, thus the name “color guard”.
