London Riots: A decade on from six days of chaos

- Ten years on from the most intense days of rioting to hit England in recent years, Sky News speaks to one victim of the rage and one of those thrown into prison.
The damage done to major cities and businesses has since been cleared up, but campaigners say there was no fund set up to address the causes behind the violence itself.

Because it's a convenient excuse for being a thug, they're angry because they haven't gotten anywhere in life and they blame everyone else for that
Their goal wasn't to fight elites. It's to fight white people. Lol.
@ItsKarlDude Well said!
Made me happy hearing the thug that burnt down that store got 11 and a half years
The owner called him a gentleman. I beg to differ!
He'll be out and on government handouts, on drugs in council flat by now.
Ironically, the businessman will be funding the culprits prison term, through business taxes paid to the government!

Whenever Tories are running the country there is trouble.
Previously we had the Poll Tax Riots and soon if the Tories don't address the
energy crisis, what's the betting there will be even bigger riots.
The Tories need to learn all lives matter, don't just sit on their arses on fat salaries & expenses and neglect people.
The energy crisis is Global, read up.
It can occur under any party. Last year there was significant rioting under Labours watch. The energy crisis is only getting worse under Labour, with prices likely to rise even more.
The House of Reeves arsonist's name was Gordon Thompson. His sentence was the longest passed in connection with the riots.
Crazy how the last 10 years have flown by
yea
While I agree the state needed to pay severely for shooting an unarmed man, looting innocent and private businesses was not the way to go about it.
As soon as the first shop was looted it had nothing to do with mark anymore and just a load of yobs ruining their own communitys
Yes, it was as simple as that. Opportunists.
I remember that. I was in Cardiff as it was happening. 3 guys in Cardiff tried to start riots in Cardiff. People in Cardiff witnessing the events elsewhere reported them. Even teenagers in Cardiff refused to join in.
Some guy tried to start Plymouth off too. Didn't happen
@@YTPEXPERT I recall there was a riot in Union Street Plymouth in 1986 and then Bristol around the same time.

wow it's really been over a decade since it happened . i remember it very well cause it had spread into my hometown and sadly i was trapped in mare street at the time.
here's the story from my perspective :
i had just finished up in the job center and i was going to the supermarket to pick up some bread and milk before heading home. i had only just got in to the supermarket when all of a sudden the shutters were closed everyone was wondering WTH (what the hell) was going on they announced that a riot was going on outside and they wanted to keep everyone inside safe. there was panic but everybody was safe. i called my mother at home to tell her that i was going to late home she asked me where i was and i told her that i was inside the supermarket and i couldn't get home for a while but at the same time she was watching the news on tv. it was then she realised the reason why i couldn't get home. she panicked and was crying on the phone but thankfully it was over in two hours and i made it home safe but it looked like a warzone outside. HOPE IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. (hopefully?????) and yes i am a hackney resident. but sadly because of the riot i had been diagnosed with PTSD and now unable to work cause i keep having recurring nightmares because of it to this day.... sorry i can't comment anymore cause it brings up very bad memories of that day.
