Today's Highlights:
The Police Complaints Autho¬rity (PCA) has launched a probe into the nine (9) fatal police shootings that happened in less than one week.
On Wednesday 14th August, 2024: five men and a teenage girl were killed during a shootout with police at a home in Razack Trace, Calcutta #2, Freeport, moments after they staged a robbery at a residence in Couva.
• Four of the deceased were identified as 24-year-old Kevon St Bernard also known as Kevon John of Claxton Bay, 15-year-old Saloni Ranghill, Nicholas Ceasar, and Javon Simon, while the others remain unidentified.
The PCA is also probing the incident on Sunday 11th August, 2024, where a woman and two men were killed by police following an alleged car chase and shoot-out along the Caroni Savannah road near the Caroni cremation site.
The man who was shot and killed at the corner of Chinapoo Road and Laventille Road in Morvant on Wednesday 14th August 2024 has been identified as 61-year-old Nazrudeen Latiff aka Lil Lil of Superville Hill, Chinapoo Road, Morvant, and 7th Avenue, Malick, Barataria.
