This is my first time watching and first time listening to You Should See Me In A Crown. Not a ton of video editing techniques in this music video, but the song was catchy and the music video was very well done!

Also, watching you nearly vomit (because spiders are barf-worthy) while wearing a Spider-Man suit was 100% not on my 2023 bingo card but I’m here for it.
Giggling in the first 30 seconds when he says "I heard there was A spider in the video." Oh, my sweet summer child....🤣 During the time that she filmed this video she had a pet tarantula, and forced James Corden to hold it when she did Carpool Karaoke with him.
😂 oh how clueless I was! Ooof ya count me out of holding one of those!

Could I request that your review When the Party's Over? This is the video that caused Billie to become the director for all her future videos. In her documentary, she walks through the whole video with her mom filling in as Billie. Then, when she got to the set, the director kept trying to change camera angles, zooms, etc - and it drove Billie nuts. Right at the very end you can hear her say something to the effect of I'm directing all my videos from now on.
The entire time I'm watching this I'm saying "just wait," knowing the spider from the mouth was coming.
Billie said they tucked the spider into her mouth a few seconds before they shot that scene. They had to be really quick, mostly because Billie didn't want to stress the spider.
Uggggh and tarantulas throw hairs when threatened like porcupines throw their whatever’s. Once in your skin it’s pretty painful. That spider must be pretty comfortable with Billie. lol.

@@kelli8923 That was the first thing I thought - their hairs actually rub off with contact and are not "thrown" - they just brush off, so she had to have tarantula hair in her mouth which can be extremely irritating - kind of a lesser form of nettles (if you are familiar with such things). You have to give her credit for making the shot!

Billie loves spiders, I remember seeing an interview where she talked about having them as pets, I think she showed us! 😂
I think it was a James Corden interview at her home where she asked him to hold her pet tarantula. He reacted about like Josh did. LOL
However this whole video just is here to say Billie is a giant bad-ass and I am a little scaredy-cat. It’s a nope for me.

Symbolism wise, spiders are also famous for eating their mate; and the song lyrics play around with the idea that men who see her as pretty should instead see her as powerful.
It’s hard to make out the exact species, but none of these are dangerous. She had to stay very still to keep the spiders safe; which I appreciate - but that lack of dynamism might be why she has recorded other alternate videos for this song.
Fully diving into the Spiderverse so to speak😂😂 Her earliest videos were very low budget, simple but massively creative & done on a teeny budget, especially her very first one Ocean eyes, BUT the music & singing & creativity was always such a high level that it didnt really matter & she blew up! All the good girls go to hell is the next one on from Bury a friend & is awesome, as it lost cause, but honestly theyre all awesome😂😂

You look good as a Spider man. I'm a 69 yr. old fan of Billie & Finneas who's read and watched most everything about them. I may be repeating things you know - she & Finneas and their dad have synesthesia - she sees everything she sings in images - they mean the world to her; I love her music - she is numero uno to me, but I don't believe that the videos -as fantastic as they are enhance or cmplement the songs or the music - I listen to her music all the time and don't need to video to appreciate the music., except in the case of "HOSTAGE" [which might seem slow without the video] - and the Lost Cause OFFIcial Music Video - in my mind - detracts from the song. As I'm sure you know the BRITISH show "Sherlock" was the inspiration for this - Jim Moriarty says "Honey, you should see me in a crown"; though I haven't seen it written anywhere - I believe in the world of spiders, the females rule and often cannabalize the males as you may know; also Billie was 16 when this came out of her mind and she owned a pet Tarantual {the large spiders here]. I this it would be nice if you had the opportunity to watch R.J. Cutler's documentary of Billie "The World's A Litle Blurry" released Feb. 26, 2021 with Jenna Rosher as videographer. There's several good interviews of the process with R. J. Cutler and one with him and Jenna and also one where Dave Grohl [Foo Fighters] interviews R.J. and Billie - it's terrific. Happy Halloween! OH! I almost forgot the Takashi Murakami Official Video for this is really colorful and fun - Billie and he really hit off in Japan.

I too like spiders. I'd not get one inside my mouth, but they're adorable. They totally don't clash with human lifestyle, and even benefit it by providing free pest control. Only a very few species of spiders have any sort of danger for humans. They're basically the best insect to have in your house (they're not technically insects though).
And even the ones that could be considered medically significant, aren't monsters. Spiders don't see humans as food. They just want to be left alone. Bites happen because of people, whether they go to kill a spider and get bit in the process or they accidentally grab one and get bit. Like Brown Recluses they are called recluses for a reason, they're reclusive. Unfortunately, they hide away in areas that humans may come into contact with them, like in dark sheds and stuff... Honestly, if a ginormous creature attacked YOU, you would probably bite too!!
That said, I wouldn't put a spider in my mouth either. However, it does show that they aren't as aggressive and mean as people think they are or she would have been bit. That spider was just like "dude.... again!?!?"
I SO had to LOL around @6:00 in, when the female tarantula came out her mouth, and you freaked! I adore you! P.S. Yes, I am a happily married (gay) man, not hitting on you, but you should feel appreciated! You are gifting our culture with shares of important music!

The spiders in the crown are just golden orb weavers, harmless, incredibly docile and want only to be up high. Tarantula is her personal pet.

Just came across your channel. I am a Billie fan, but I am also a huge Ren fan and it doesn't look like you've done any of his videos, yet. I recommend all of Ren's music including his band The Big Push. He has a lot of really great videos, too. Most reactors start with the song Hi Ren, but he and his videographer just won Best International Music Video for Money Game 3, so that might be the one for you.

I have a spider. Not as a pet, it just moved in! It’s been there for a year or more. He/she was only little when they moved in, so I just left it there. It built a great web and during the summer was the best fly catcher I’ve had. But the ‘little’ spider that moved in has eaten so many flies it’s becoming scarily big! It’s still here I haven’t the heart to evict it, but I think flies are becoming not enough to fill it’s belly anymore. Maybe I should make it a sandwich or something. I’ve named him/her Billie. But so long as it stays where it is it can stay, but if it starts sitting next to me watching tv we are going to have to have words.
I had one living in my big plate glass window in my office directly in front of me and my computers. Spiders are a big deal living in a log cabin and I just got used to them. They ate things I disliked so we had a kind of understanding. I watched her grow from itty bitty pin head to the size of a very plump quarter. Then one day she lay her eggs and there was a gazillion of them. I always kept a drift wood walking stick by the door. It was my spider stick and I waved it in front of me any time I went to my truck. As much as I don’t mind them, a spiderweb in my beard was taking it a bit too far.
@@fxbear Yes, they are amazing to watch. I can understand why some people study them. Mine hasn't had children yet. I don't think it's very sociable or it could be a male. I live in the UK and there's a story about Robert The Bruce who was in a cave during a battle (can't remember which one) and he sat and watched a spider make a web. sometimes parts of the web broke, but the spider just carried on until it was finished this beautiful web.
So Robert The Bruce took the inspiration from that little spider not giving in and went out his cave and won the battle!
That's the story I heard anyway.
@@michelle88960 I love hearing that story. The only spider I truly learned to hate were Wolf spiders during mating season. It was the only time you saw them because the males loose all fear and skitter around in broad daylight. They also become vindictive little bastards after being brushed out of my bed, only to return later scampering up my body from the foot of the bed at lighting speed with intent to kill.

I am by far not a spider specialist but I at least know the big ones on her are tarantulas, which are not dangerous to humans. I got to hold one once when I was a kid, they are very gentle souls. I do imagine the toughest part about making the video was probably finding the small spiders in her hair again xD
My 14 year old daughter, also an avid spider keeper, couldn't help herself. Seeing your reaction to the spiders made her laugh soo loud :D

I used to be scared of spiders, but as I learned more about them (and with some help from a special person), I realized I was afraid of them because they were different. But they're just babies. They also hunt and feed on the insects that annoy us and hurt us. They're our little saviours.
The little spiders were a type of orb weaver the tarantulas were chaco holden knee tarantulas ant the shorter fat spiders were Carolina wolf spiders none of these spiders are deadly to humans
