- The nice thing about still owning a Wii U is you can get hot new Switch games like Super Mario 3D World early, and for a fraction of the price. Sure, we don't have Bowser's Fury, but that hasn't stopped our daughter from falling absolutely head over heels for Cat Peach.
We're very careful with details of our personal life on this channel. We've done videos about how we all play games together in the past, but we don't make too much noise about it. Generally we prefer privacy - especially when it comes to our kids.
That said, our daughter is obsessed with RUclips, and we've known for a while that it would only ever be a matter of time before she wanted to make a video herself. In fact, she's shown up in one of our videos before: her hands were visible in our first video on Lego Mario from last year.
So, when she said she wanted to make a video about Super Mario 3D World, we decided to support her and help her in that, and make sure she does so in a safe way.
It was her idea, by the way, to use footage from the game rather than drawn pictures. It was significantly easier than drawing a whole video - we might do more like this in future to justify the purchase of a capture card!
Also, by the way, you'll be pleased to know that our daughter will be getting the lion's share of the ad revenue for this video. It's only fair.
Let us know if you'd like her to do more videos, she's got a few cracking Zelda theory ideas you'd probably love.

Ummm why are you timestamping the parts where the girl is speaking? That's kinda suspect. There's a reason why a lot of videos with kids have the comments turned off now.

I was having a pretty bad day today, a friend of mine had to go the hospital, some personal stuff happened, and I wanted to watch youtube do unwind. But hearing a adorable young child being so passionate about a game made my day so much better. Thank You. (:

Well currently we're going through similar issues thanks to covid but seeing this game through a very young child eyes makes the game a whole different experience
A friend of mine also had to go to hospital yesterday (she got stabbed) but she is doing better and can be out today

Try Megaman 11 in very easy, my 4 year old sister loved it! Its really user-friendly and with more basic mechanics than other games.
Trust me. I was like 3 or 4 and the only game I had was mega man zero... if they have nothing to do they'll play the game and learn it.
@@arishkhan5918 well duh, i was three when I played Paper Mario and the thousand year door and even got to the fifth star, children can fumble through games, but I always remembered Mario Kart double dash with my brother as the funnier experience because of its easier in and output.
It's less about what the, can do and more about how frustrated they get and what they enjoy. Children in the age range of 2 to 6 WILL have a hard time with games that r more complicated because their perception and reaction isn't as developed as that of a 7+ year old.

I did the exact same thing in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I would go into a bubble whenever it was hard. When me and my dad got to the final boss, he couldn’t beat it. Then, 1 day, I went full on gamer mode and played it in single player and won second try.

Yes, as a father of three princess loving girls, the downside is that there is only once princess to play as at the start. Gaming as a dad is very fun and worth it but it does make a lot of games like this one big escort mission. My little girls like playing Super Smash Bros, we used the custom stage builder to make a stage with a castle for each girl. Then set the timer for 15 minutes and then they can play in their digital dollhouse until the time is up. Great review!

Look, I’ll be honest, I’m not one for been a child person but, even just hearing her voice is so wholesome...
The whole thing is incredibly wholesome, especially the mild shade thrown at BretonStripes for not being as good as Kotor. She's lucky to have such supportive parents!
This is not only wholesome, but it's also a good reminder that videogames can be enjoyed by different people in different ways and that's one of the reasons why they're so good!

2:16 I used to do that when I was younger too, except in Super Smash Bros Brawl!
I’d go into Practice mode and set all the characters to be Kirbys (he was my favourite character, mostly because he was pink and cute), and I would usually play on the Luigi’s Mansion stage and pretend it was an actual house.
I also remember doing a similar thing on the Pikmin stage, feeding the Bulborb whenever it appeared using random items.
I like playing Smash “properly” nowadays, but I think playing it like that might’ve been the reason why I enjoyed games like Animal Crossing and Minecraft so much when I was older. I love games where you can just do whatever you want and explore :)
We've kept her away from Smash so far because of the violence, but this is a pretty good suggestion, thanks!

@George Shaw When I was really young, I always called Mario Power-ups "guys". So, fire Mario was "fire guy" and ice Mario was "ice guy".
I also thought that Starlow from the Mario and Luigi games was actually called Chippy.

I remember doing stuff like this when I were a kid, I was so happy with such simple games. When I was a kid and had finished the game I would play the levels in a specific order and make up my own story and pretend like it was a whole other game, I guess it's true that kids have a bigger imagination since I certainly wouldn't do anything like that today.
I'm not sure any game I play today would be able to recreate the experience I had as a child, no matter how good the game is, even replaying the games I played as a kid is dull for me now.

I used to play 3D World with my sister back in 2015 when she was around 5 on the Wii U, and we played a hella lot of it, even though she didn't play much videogames, she had a blast.
Our Wii U broke a bit after the Switch released, and there weren't many games we could play together. Odyssey was the only 3D Mario for the Switch, and you know how sucky the multiplayer is. NSMBU was fun, but she never played it a lot on the Wii U anyways, and it was limited to 2D, so it wasn't the same thing. My sister is 9 now, and we got so excited when we heard that the game was coming to Switch, so I bought it day one. (yesterday lol)
However, the game has been changed a bit on the Switch, it is noticeably faster than the original, and while a lot of people (including myself) like this change, it's not that great for younger/newer players. My sister, even being 4 years older and having played way more videogames, (she loves ROBLOX) she just couldn't keep up, she kept missing jumps and running into enemies, something that did happen when we played on the Wii U, but not nearly as often. She gets constantly frustrated and spectates a lot more now. Hell, she plays as Peach, the slowest character, and still has trouble. It would be unfortunate if she liked Toad better...
And we tried out Bowser's Fury's multiplayer, it's the same as Odyssey's, pretty unfun. It's a singleplayer mode, no getting around it.
I'm glad we can finally play this game again, but something that we would appreciate a lot is an option for playing at the original game's speed, it has a huge impact on the multiplayer experience, so it would be nice to let people play at the original speed while more experienced players could try out the new speed, something like a "turbo mode".
Now this is parenting done right!

Your daughter has taste. The Castle music from 3D World is probably one of my favorite castle tracks too, due to how well it's been rearranged from the 3D Land version with live instruments.
Don't really have much of a recollection of any music in LEGOLAND, however.

Listen, I have been reviewing games for 11 years now on my personal blog and seeing this video reminds me of the time my godchild and I used to create a review for Minecraft on an old deleted blog of mine. Man, this warms my heart.
This reminds me of my 4 year old niece, who was suddenly obsessed with video games. She would always watch me play games like Mario Kart and Fall Guys but she also convinced her mum to buy a Nintendo Switch. She is kind of like your daughter in a way, since she deems herself if a level is too tricky and either goes into a bubble or hands over the controller to me. She also really liked Mario Kart Tour when that was a thing and actually managed to get the hang of it!
It’s just so cute when you have a little one in your family who loves playing video games with you and you only, since it makes you feel more included and guarantees a fun time whenever they come round for dinner :D
