Back then we Filipinos are providing a teaching lessons about mechanisms and varieties of rice. But now we are being supplemented by other countries and being taught on how to use the proper way of harvesting rice. Its because the system that we have, I mean if they taught it back then when we are still the first country doing those kind of things then now I think we are still more likely not depending on other countries when it comes to rice. Its just sad that our farmers still suffering from the short income that they get from harvesting.

But now Erwann did good job to open our eyes to see what was really happenning and talks about the culture and importation and process of rice. We should remain with high hopes that someday we will look up to our local products. Filipinos have colonial mentality.

We came here to show the rest of the world that we can do sustainable business. And sustainable business is the only one that will stay on the long run, because the idea is if you are too OPPORTUNISTIC (and GREEDY) and if you want to make too much money...then there will be problem... here being sustainable, we are helping the farmer to increase their income, to get out of poverty and creating a huge positive impact on all the community" ------------ so i hope the future generation will not follow those old generation greedy hacienda farming way of life!!!

The grand irony is that the largest importer of rice is also home to IRRI, the International Rice Research Institue, in Los Banos, Laguna. You've correctly traced the fundamental problem to inefficiency, and its root cause, absent or insufficient mechanization. But continue on causation and you end up with a lack of vision. Had we applied to rice agri, beginning in the 60s', the same resolve we now do to 'Build, Build, Build', we would today likely be the world's largest exporter of rice.

I wish there have been Chen Yi back in the day when we still owned a farmland . My nanay was a farmer but it was very difficult and trying. She have done her very best tho until we sold our bukid. My utmost respect to all the farmers. May we see progress in modern farming for a better and more profitable harvests.

While most of us strive to become an "office" person, these men try to emphasize a career or culture that is already existing. My family originated from Leyte and everytime we go home we say that it is the best place ever, how I wish we can just stay and live there when I was a child.
    Thank you Nico and Erwan!

I waited for the right time to watch this so that I can relax, knowing that this would be funny (because Nico is in it) and educational. I was right. Thank you, Erwan and Nico, for educating a lot of us and showing the struggles of our farmers. And a BIG thank you to Chen Yi Agventures for helping the farmers to have a sustainable livelihood in farming. Merci beaucoup monsieur Patrick Renucci! ❤
