Darla/Buffy | Running Up That Hill (Angel/BTVS)

Me and my friend have been writing this ship together on tumblr and we wanted Buffy to take the trials for Darla instead of Angel. It's an AU set during season 2 of Angel and season 5 of BTVS. The trials are presented differently because I had to use what I could work with in terms of footage.
Story: After a chance meeting in L.A, Buffy finds out that Darla has been resurrected and is human again. Reluctantly, Darla reveals that she is dying, and having just lost her own mother and being told that 'Death is her Gift' by a slayer spirit guide, Buffy decides she wants to help save Darla. During their brief time together, Buffy and Darla form a connection. Buffy takes three trials to try to save Darla's soul. The first is to defeat an undefeatable foe. The second is to conquer an unconquerable fear, and the third is to embrace death itself. Believing that 'Death is her Gift', Buffy completes the final challenge. Although successfully completing the trials, because Darla was a vampire before her resurrection, she cannot be 'saved from death' a second time. Buffy feels angry and hurt that she failed to save Darla, but Darla expresses her gratitude for the lengths Buffy went to to try and save her life. Buffy has to return to Sunnydale and asks Angel to take care of Darla in her place. Despite Darla accepting her fate and choosing to die, she is forced into becoming a vampire again.

Honestly, why I never thought about Darla? I mean, I shipped her with Dru, and Dru with Darla is already canon, so Buffy/Darla is a next logical step.

Thank you for the comment! ❤ I think because Darla was only in BTVS for season 1 and during flashbacks we didn't get to see Darla and Buffy interact so the ship isn't considered much which is totally understandable. I would have LOVED to see Season 5/6/7 Buffy and Season 2 (Angel) Darla share a scene, the acting alone would be so powerful. If I can figure out how to make the editing work smoothly I will definitely make another video for them!

Did Darla actually team up with Buffy in the storyline? I don't recall if she did.
Unfortunately no, she didn't, but it would have been awesome if that happened!
