At the risk of sounding like I want to just dunk on Accurascale, I do appreciate people are still willing to mention the negatives in regards to any manufacturier that is not Hornby. They can't do everything right, and when they don't, it is only fair to mention it. I only just ordered a Accurascale 66, and I am keen to see if RoS ship them out in their original shipping boxes like with the Hornby Dublo range, outer cardboard box and bubble padding straight out of the Accurascale warehouse...!
Hi Susanna thank you for sharing some personal times ,I too have been through the mill my wife died when I was 32 left me with my son who has grown up to be a fine man ,your never alone we are here we love Your channel and as you know I’m a former 283 driver and your driving was spot on I’m sure it was you I was going to barnes as a passenger ,at this time I’ve had to leave the railway due to my health but I’m on the mend and it’s yourself and others on here that’s kept me on the right track (sorry 😂) so keep going my dear your looking great and remember we are all on your side ,as for a accurascale 66 I’m at the moment happy with my baccy ones ,I’m waiting for my 89 (finger out mr Watson 😂) so take care chin up and look after yourself All the best Mark 😊😊
Hi Susannah, very informative video my friend. I've not bought a loco from Accurascale but I did buy some rolling stock via a local shop which was really well detailed. I agree totally with you about the packaging and customer service though. The model is truly outstanding though and great details, you my friend are stronger than you realise keep moving forward x
Mmmmm mine was packaged exactly the same way 🤔 Huge box, model at one end, all the protective wrap at the other end! Luckily for me the model was undamaged, but the packaging didn’t make sense. Well done for highlighting this issue.
Forgive this lengthy comment but you wanted feedback on Accurascale so here we go. As regards the time taken from ordering to the time recieved was similar to you. I ordered 66415 a fortnight ago stating it was in stock. I called them ten days later and said being inspected checked then sent out, having already paid up front of coarse. No such problem with packing i was lucky i guess , now my friend Jim at the Locoshed had a bad experience with them, he ordered paid up front three weeks ago and only recieved his supply last Friday whereas most the other retailers had recieved them, When he did, the Db and GBRf versions were missing and no explanation given. So he has to spend more time Emailing them. The loco is a vast improvement on the Hattons version the reasons we already know. As for the sound, well to me its absolutely spot on, Accurascale have nailed it. Some prefer the Hattons sound but for me its far to bass. The box art really did pull me in, it's absolutely fantastic as is the EWS 66001 box. I am a rivet counter when it comes to liveries colours and logos. And i have one and only gripe and im afraid its for me a big one. That is the livery! The orange is too pale, When the G and W Tangoed livery was first announced, it was 66413' Lest we forget ' that was the first loco to ware it. The second loco was 66623 and Freightliner decided to amend the livery, a darker shade of orange, so Hattons and Hornbys class 66623 was already in production, so it was too late to amend the livery. Its obvious to me that Accurascale didn't do any research other than go off Hattons 66623 paler livery. The stupid thing is the Accurascale box art and image of loco portrays the correct depth of orange so when you remove the loco out of the box it stands out a mile. Sorry for the long essay but thought i should mention non the less. As, you said its for a really worthy cause and i applaud that from Accurascale. Guess i will get used to his lighter Orange as i have the Hattons 66 which is exactly the same. Look forward to part two, cheers Nick.
Welldone I can tell the loco means alot to you, I model 70s 80s locos on a shed layout, But when I seen this loco with that name on I was suddenly compelled to buy it, Its arriving next week my wife Christine passed away suddenly 9 months ago after 47 yrs married, This loco means alot to me like it means to you take care.
Hi Susannah Although mine did arrive quite quickly the box is way too big and doesn’t really give good protection. But I’m delighted with the model I went with in the Prostate livery which has now become appropriate . Cheers Kev
I had similar problems with Accurascale with my class 37. The decoder was configured wrongly and their instructions asked me to check it when it came from the factory with sound in. Then the lights didn't work properly, so I sent it back. They said the lights were fine and my Gaugemaster Prodigy was at fault and sent it back. The controller works with all other bands That's the extent of their 'service'. I have received a class 66 with sound and although I've had it for a week, I haven't tried it yet. Mine came in an identical box and packaging as yours. It made no sense to pack it like that.
Hi, good honest review, I’ve only had positive experiences with Accurascale, I had an issue which I caused and they sorted it when they could, I find now that they have grown as a company they seem different, not everyone has the same experience with them to be fair, Hornby are the worst hands down in my opinion when it comes to customer service’s, Accurascale should train their staff in the packaging department to do the job properly, you should have taken a picture and sent it to them, if they don’t know then they can’t do anything about it, Amazon are the kings of woeful packaging! I do like the Accurascale class 66 because they’ve made a very good detailed loco better but they have engineered the larger EM2 speaker out to fit a lesser EM1 in its place! They should have made the dashboard light up like the rest of their loco range, I have an original Hatton’s sound fitted loco with Legomanbiffo sound file which sounds awesome in my opinion, also why isn’t there a large logo BR blue model? Thanks for sharing.
I too had to wait a fortnight for 66415 to arrive after ordering. I'm pleased with mine however a few minor niggles have come to light since I uploaded my own video. 1. The livery is far too pale😢 2. I would have preferred the valance and pipework to be factory fitted at one end. 3. I'm finding some of the sound functions volume to be too quite. Especially the doors and window sounds. 4. I'd have preferred manual control of the flange squeal as I run long trains and it sounds odd that the squeal stops after the loco has negotiated the curve but there's still 20 odd wagons to go! 4. I don't know if it's mine or every one's but marker lights and night headlight function do exactly the same thing.
Agreed especially the tone, crazy as they portray exactly the right darker tone of orange on the art work and the loco, so i found when you see that then open thr box its a total suprise, a, glaring error sadly, otherwise its excellent in all other areas.
Mine, the day/night lighting functions to make no difference. Whilst the removable roof panel is useful, I found trying to remove it caused paint chips along the edges. There is also a very visible join line. Given the body is easily removable I'm not sure the model also needs a removable roof panel
i think your get a message from Richard at new junction as he came up trumps for Charlie at Chadwick i think he should be in charge of customer relations in stead of finance just my view great video as ever all the best

Having not purchased or owned either a Heljan or Accurascale model I appreciate your comments.

Hi Susanna🎉, very nice honest thoughts, experience shared🚂🌟💗🤗👍
Pretty sure it was 66502 on the Watercress line, not this one (just checked my photos) but it was G&W colours!
I had no problems with accuscale when I ordered my gwr/br manors and ambulance coaches they arrived next day

How did you find it on sharper curves when pulling stock.. any derailment issues..?
Love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Richard is in charge of Social / Marketing, not finance. But he is the correct guy to reach out too
