I've seen Josh Gold's double backy in Jackson over a hundred times. Still gets me HYPED every time
And he absolutely stomps it
m.ruclips.net/video/bWSnCcf_7V4/видео.html
Gets you hyped huh lmfao 🤣
Same. Just a dope drop.
It’s the only clip in this video where they don’t land on their back fuck skiing
Seems like Julian just knows how to land on his back and ski out anyway
don't be mean to people who don't know how to land. to see my real opinion read more
pretty sure its a hip check, and people do it to slow down or if the landing is too flat. Usually the best pros do it, like jamie pierre and owen leeper
@@JackHandelman wasn't being mean, it's an art to do it as well as he does. Tone can be lost in comments man, no need to assume the worst.
@@JackHandelman Its fine and dandy until he hip checks a huge rock on landing.
@@j897xce oh no dude I didn’t mean it like that I was trying to be funny. You are absolutely right in that he does it really well. I can’t talk, I’m not nearly as good as him(yet)
Yessir
Dude thes guys are insane. I've skiid off a 6 foot drop and that was pretty intense. I wouldn't even jump off those cliffs into water!
Actually water would be more deadly than snow. Besides the fact that snow is water :D
Id way rather go 30 or 40 feet to snow with skis on than 40 feet to water. Water hurts
m.ruclips.net/video/bWSnCcf_7V4/видео.html
I know right! Biggest one I’ve done was like 8 feet and I saw my life flash before my eyes. Makes me wonder how these guys feel.
@@SnootchieBootchies27 well for me...I am definitely more controlled cliff jumping into water. Even doing that I would do 30 ft busting a flip. 40 feet would be super intense. Skiing off a 30 ft cliff, cmon. As soon as you hit it, you are already going a few miles per hour. By the time you land...you are skiing at like 30 mph minimum. Cliff jumping into water...you jump, you hit the water...AND THAT IS IT!
These people aren't right in the head. I'm starting to think RUclips's suggestion algorithm is onto me.
Owen Leeper has a great RUclips channel. One of my favorite skiers.
Love how Sam kuch sees a 50-60 footer and does a cork 7
It’s fucking mad
These guys figured out how to respawn in life.
If they die on one of these jumps, they just respawn at the top again.
Seems like theyre re spawning right where theyre splatting....its uncanny
1:26 wtfffff
Cannon ball
oh, that one probably just died.
@@Nobody-trader no he didn’t

RIP SHANE
Still bringing the stoke.
JP, we miss ya man. I can't believe it's been 11 years. Skiing the Bird's beak has never been the same.
rip jamie pierre! what a fucking legend! Insane...
That guy at the beginning must be Owen Leaper, not Leeper ;) Unbelievable vid!
It actually is spelt Leeper Look it up

1:12 I know he’s landing in a lot of snow but how do you not get seriously injured doing that?
The snow is soft enough to the point where the only way u can get injured is by your own equipment hitting you believe it or not (if you land correctly
You have to already be injured to do something like that
im literally a year late but something u can kind of see if u look closley is that they land slightly on their backs, this reduces impact when landing. honestly i was really suprised when my freeride coach told this to me lol
@@malagisenze3613That's deep. 😮😊
Fresh, POWDER, snow with the right water content compresses almost like a gigantic airbag.
1:37 ME: oh damn. Markus is about to die.
Markus: Hold my beer
That actually is in bounds at Kicking Horse. It's on Ozone, which they use as the venue for the FWT.
Shane is always number 1
This is great. If you do another, you gotta include Seth Morrison. He did some nutty shit back in the day.
And jeff leger. His full send belly flops are crazy
This dude wakes up in the morning an chooses death
haha stoked to make the list!! rowdy vids!
Yo dude you're rad as ****
Yeah josh!
2:13 was done accidentally an is still the world record today
And that is why would he actually has is the world record for surviving falling off of a cliff
Last 2 clips are mind-blowing
It's actually absurd.
Video top notch.
These guys are insane 🤯
I've never understood the front flip to back thing off cliffs
Coming from the east coast if these guys tried that out here they would be dead. Gotta love several feet of soft powder so you can land on your head after setting a world record and still come out 'ok'.
fr, here in new jersey we usually only have a few inches(if any) off the trail. This year we doing good tho and my local ski resort just opened there first tree skiing trail
Can i try this at home ?
No
Woah guy, your home is for sure huge to be able to cliff jump!
really wonderful skiers congratulations to all ,thanks for sharing nice videos.
Unbelievable, guys are living life
where is Seth Morisson ??? :(
Agreed
Yeah I was wondering that one. His huge backy off that monster cliff should definitely be on here.
Really great performance congratulations 👍
Well umm Owen leeper and Julian just one upped each and every single one of those cliffs this week
Cliff's mind is creating the entire fucking universe and you discover that that's you who's been doing it the whole time. It's utterly shocking and astounding. It's so astounding that you won't want to believe it because people have told you all it's egotistical to say that you're a cliff. Only a narcissist would claim that he's a cliff. You're imagining the entire fucking universe. What does that make you? That makes you a cliff. Reality is pure imagination. Tada.
First I see some cliffs I could do but THEN I SEE PEOPlE SENDING THE GRAND CANYON!
julian guy landing on his BACK!?!?!?!?!
I was thinking maybe he should have a parachute on a couple of those, next jump parachute!
Dude these guy’s are mad!
Respect for all of this folks. Genuine question: how do people who ski 100+ days a season make money to support the skiing lifestyle?
Sponsorships
1. Work hard 7 months of the year and take off 5 months
Or
2. Have a job you can do remotely online from anywhere and work an hour or two early morning and in the evening and on down days.
Or
3. Have earned enough money that you can invest and live frugally off the dividends/interest earned from investments.
Or
4. All of the above combined ;)
Everyone go watch Mike Basich - Snowboard Heli Drop footage (when he jumped out way too early)
A thousand bones broke in the making of this clip. 🤔😜
Vesna vulocić fell out of a crashed plane 10km high up and survived by landing in snow.
What kind of technique is it to fall right onto your back? Wtf
felpel 102 that IS the technique
After a certain height, yeah, it's THE technique. Spreads out the impact that your legs would never be able to handle anyways. Not really sure if it's still skiing at that point...
It's like how stuntmen jump into airbags from buildings. Makes sense
Probably bc ur ankles will break when landing on feet
Janie pierre called it back slap. Rest his soul!
Sean pettit has some huge cliffs too
Кто ставит дизлайки? Наверно завистники) Просто жесть Опасно и очень завораживает )))) музыка обалденная Спасибо ! Берегите себя)))
Some of these really just said send it and went face first. Wild shit.
m.ruclips.net/video/bWSnCcf_7V4/видео.html
Leo Brayman belongs on this list too
How can you have a gnarled cliffs vid and not have Seth morrison in there?
New steep game looks sick
I fractured my C7 of a 45 footer, idk how these guys do it
bro a 45 footer is still huge aha... Hows your back now?
Bruh, a 45 footer, that’s insane
the most I've done was a 25-30 footer
@@theoutlaw9759 that’s still like 3 stories
@@carsonfromstatefarm4248 cool!
How is it that they don’t break their legs? Transfer of energy into forward motion? The snow acting like a pillow? Both?
You'll notice a lot of them land really far back; basically they land on their ass or back and then roll forward to keep skiing. You can survive a drop from terminal velocity into a few feet of powder and have a pretty intact body to show for it.
@@hunchie so they intentionally land on their back to distribute the weight? then roll forward to keep skiing? jesus that takes some balls
@@ollyunwin4327 yes -- pretty nuts. I'd imagine that when you ski all day every day like these guys it comes a little more naturally, but that's certainly no dismissal; I've skied for 20 years and can't do anything close to this stuff.
@@hunchie surely landing so back seated that you're pretty much sat like down damage the ACLs if you twist at all aha? And yeah man i'd put it down to mad bravery even before the intense training
I cliff jump into water from 40-50', which isn't that much, but this is just insane.
I that the guy @2:15 died?
Nah he survived there’s a video abt it
First guy sends a huge cork 7 and casually lands it
Never heard of Sam kuch till now but I wish I did before!
So are they landing on there back of these or onto there feet can’t tell really i have no idea how they do it
How do they look like they’re Landing on their back and then they come out of the snow riding perfectly normal?
holy shit^^ u guys are awesome
Those men's are "ultraterrestre" just like Killian Jornet, big respect !
It's actually upsetting that this is possible
Imagine the DIN settings these guys are on...
ive worked on some of those guys skis they usually go to 21 but ive seen higher. julain cars go to 21, back in the day i worked on Hugo Harrison's skis and i think his went to 28 or 30, hugo didnt go as big but skied way faster and way more exposed lines.
Anything above an 18 ain’t comin off
@@gagedoormann7029 not without serious injury any ways.
@@jarastafaria3088 I was on 18 during that clip. you can come out of it but usually its at the cost of a broken ski.
@@Josh.gold_ thanks for responding ya mine go to 16 but I set them at 14 and when I pop out it usually damages my ski boots. Doesn't happen often at 14 .I imagine the tork at 18 would be intense.
No Seth Morrison?
If you land on your skis you are doing a cliff, if you land on your back is falling from a cliff I think
actually in order to not have your body crush itself you must land on your back to reduce weight and thats called jumping it
Pure madness
That was awesome!!
m.ruclips.net/video/bWSnCcf_7V4/видео.html
Excuse my ignorance, but why does he land on his back purposely?
So he doesn’t break his legs
This music gets me hyped
do you name the name of the song?
@@advicemaster1365 uhhh no
@@advicemaster1365 im saying it gets me hyped
So sick
Now I understand the title
how the fuck are we the top of the food chain
Imagine to find a rock under that snow......
Most of these guys must be nuts .. some of these jumps are just insane .. just massive balls or low IQ to do this .. or maybe both !
Some people put skis on their feet and become brain dead. Just ask yourself would you still jump the same cliff without skis on your feet before you jump down a fucking 50 feet cliff.
I love how some of them just land on their backs and don't even try landing
probably so they don’t break every bone in their legs lmao
Landing on your back prevents leg injuries from cliffs that high, it also maximizes the surface area of your body, to make sure you don’t sink into the snow and suffocate.
His name is Owen Leeper...
When they just sauce it to their backs it's because after a certain amount of height your legs can't take the impact and something will break. So at about three feat of pow and up you can take some super high cliffs to your back. Supposedly you just get wind knocked out of you.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but is the idea to land on your back? I love watching these videos but I've noticed rarely does someone land on their feet, so it just looks like they are eating shit from a 150 ft drop lol. But if you landed on ur skees, you would knee the fuck out of ur chest, jaw or both....
Do people actually die in this video?
No
Shane McConkey died doing this
Jamie Pierre died as well, but not on camera
Mcconkey died in Italy ski basing. Pierre was avie in utah. At snowbird in bounds I believe
Steep players: First time?
As a pretty good skier who just doesn't jump anything bigger than a mogul here's what destroys my mind about watching this sort of thing...
How do you get from the point where you're pretty darn good in the park and knocking around the mountain to the point where you can huck cliffs so big that if you screw up you just might end up dead or crippled?
It just doesn't seem like there's space to tolerate having an intermediate level of skill...
it's all about the environment. My hometown sees 6-8ft dumps overnight mid-season and when it's deep enough you can go through the progression of hitting bigger and bigger cliffs.
what if there is a big rock coverd with snow below the surface lol
*covered
I always get a little upset seeing Mcconky ski BASE jumping
RIP Shane and Jamie
Jamie died by hitting a tree and Shane was falling off a cliff and his parachute wasn't working.

Who hold's the record for the longest drop?
Fred Syvertsen

Does it count when they just slammed on the back?
Nop😁
Wow!
I would have bet money this was click bait. It was actually dope.
It's sad cause they try to kill themself but never succeed
m.ruclips.net/video/bWSnCcf_7V4/видео.html
Bro... Like... FUCK !!!
I mean...why bother with the skis 😅
Ils ont cru ct de l'eau
I'd rather watch smaller cliffs landed on their skis then Jamie Pierres 251ft (I think) just aiming to lay out and flop on the snow... which he did kind of poorly actually. -Nick- *Sam* Kuch was far more entertaining to watch in comparison.
OMFG. Ur such an ASS. First of all Kuch is an amazing skier but is not as insane as JP. Also Jamie Pierre literally died doing that and ur sitting here saying he did it poorly and was boring Fuck you man. Also he did it perfectly if u knew anything about skiing u would know when dropping cliffs like that u must land on ur back. So STFU
Holy fuCK!!!
Skata Sweden Åre drop
in my opinion straight air is best when doing really big cliffs, because it decreases the risk and the gopro captures the sheer height
Its easier to do tricks when you get to a certain height and it brings down the fear factor. when you're doing tricks you have more to focus on and it keeps your mind at ease. When you straight air the only thing you do is watch the fall the entire way down making it much scarier.
