I watch every videos of Bertie's series and i think it is amazing to stay very close to the animals such as bear and coastal wolf in their original habitat. Wild photographer is a very cool job.
@@funkyfiss I have backpacked the coast my whole life and never seen a single one lol. I spent 15 days on the coast last summer and didn’t see a single one.

Thank you so much for coming to our beautiful coast and sharing with the world! We love our coastal wolves, and all of our resident wildlife. Thank you so much for your conservation efforts!
awesome presentation bertie ! you should do a Ted talk ! I watched the full series and it was just amazing ! I think this digital series was a super good idea, in trends with new technologies and way of communication. good job and I hope to see in a another series !
I need more videos like this! I love seeing videos about NatGeos photographers and what they do to get the shots they need. I hope I get to do this type of photography some day :)
WOW... those over 1000 years old trees. You're an excellent potographer. You're films are so gorgeous! Of course these are beautiful animals & they are one of my favorites animals. Thanks so much for sharing the beautiful film with us. I've never seen the waves this beautiful
I have lived in Alberta, British Columbia and other parts of Canada but those costal wolves are extremely small from the looks of it, I am used to seeing giant wolves that are extremely big and you would have too see them up close or see them standing up or next to a human or another dog to get how big they are, The grizzlies and polar bears on the West Coast of Canada are also like bears on steroids.
@@1grizzlyman There are many, many islands in northern Canada, in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. Each island boasts it's very own western coast.
This guy is pretty cool like to watch his videos... Wolves are one of my favorite animals and I think it's amazing that they're living off of seafood pretty cool!
So, your setting on a stump of a tree that has been logged to support human life. It is maybe 500 years old but maybe the next thing you see is a sign put up by your buddies that says "tsunami zone". I salute your courage and dedication. Iguana
Sea wolves as they are called are very rare , they are not like other wolves, they will swim 6-7 miles to different islands and their main food is seafood, shellfish ect.
Have coastal wolves ever been recorded attacking humans? Certainly regular wolves have pretty much across Canada every year, but I don't know about these clam-wolves
I have backpacked the coast my whole life and never seen one. I spent 15 days on the coast last summer and didn’t see a single one. Loads of bear and wolf prints but not a single one. One day lol one day
True...old growth not so much though, unless you're looking at a very very large time frame. Seeing as we've already logged well over 90% of the old growth on the planet what say we use other sources of wood/fiber now?
We have no idea why they were shot. Also I doubt he was close enough to tag the wolf so it is most likely a completely different wolf. It could have been self defense for all we know. I do agree that people shouldn't be hunting them for sport, but we don't need guys like this making all people look terrible.

In the tofino area (where that wolf ended up in the dumster) They were coming onto the beaches in broad daylight and stealing dogs ON LEASH in front of hundreds of people. They are getting very bold in that region. Additionally Elk populations are at all time low while wolf numbers are exploding, risking eliminating the Roosevelt elk population from the island. Predators unfortunately need to be managed as humans have done the damage to create this problem and now need to continue to be involved to keep things as level as possible.
This lockdown has helped me get educated about wildlife and Bertie your knowledge and experience really speaks to us. Thank you.
Thank you for advocating for our wolves.

SoUmYea I am crying right know. Why? would someone kill a pup and its mother? Why?
Tamara Bon the money
where would the money come from if the bodies ended up in a dumpster rather that at a taxidermist

Tamara Bon I'm crying too. 😢 I despise people who kill these beautiful animals. They deserve to be shot and thrown in a dumpster! 😠
Excellent! Presentation, subject, photographs, story, humour, and Bertie ...all of it, just brilliant. Thank you

As unscientific as his goals are, this is some nice photography

Pray for nature.
The bears you teach that humans are ok are the first ones killed first in season. Should still stay back from them and use a zoom with the camera.

I'd shit a solid gold brick if I got that close to a bear!
Sorry to tell you Bertie Gregorie but now our lone wolf Takaya has been killed. I'm so broken hearted
Yo patent that bear box so I can get one that's so cool
Hemp could replace the need for tree pulp.
Hemp is just the best.
Only thing to say is that they do a good job re growing the areas they deforest it’s not like the land loses trees forever there otherwise good talk
Coastal RED Wolf,not Grey!
Take it from someone who walks among them(Parksville,Vancouver Island).
I'm dying at the raccoons lmao
I didn't know nat Geo actually still gave a fuck. They should put more of this stuff on tv. Cause maybe I would've actually kept my cable
Just get sling tv it's cheaper
Whoever shot that wolf should be sent to jail
Chainsaws are worldwide, including our back yards.

On all levels but physical I am a wolf. Ahoooooooo
11 seconds and I'm still not the first view

I came here after watching Joe Rogan talking about UFOs...lol
Killing a wolf and her pup is one thing but jesus christ, don't toss the bodies in a dumpster, at least put them somewhere respectable.

Good story but the cliffhanger was a spoiler. Thumbs down.
I will not support/purchase any product which interrupts a video. Just sayin'.

Dustin Townsend just hunters are shitty.
dekationz - dktne You shouldn't generalize. That is the same as me saying blacks are shitty. Which is equally wrong.

How can wolve numbers explode while their prey disappears? Sounds bonkers for me
