Thanks for posting this! I just started fiddling around with ProRes Raw on my GH6. I found it to be quite noisy. What do you think? Did you need to use a denoiser? In some of your shots i can (still?) see a bit of noise.
Hey. Yes any raw format will be inherently noisier than internal (or external) compressed formats. Thats because with raw, the image is not debayered, and no image profiling (sharpening / noise reduction etc.) has been applied. With ProRes Raw, you'll want to apply Noise Reduction in post to your liking. Regarding my own sample here, yes some of its noisier than I'd prefer, but thats mainly because I was using a slower lens (F2.8) and operating at 4k 120P w/ 180 shutter angle (1/240) at I believe 3200 ISO. With a faster lens (F1.8) you could probably operate this at a lower ISO (2,000) and it'd look objectively better. Also, keep in mind FilmConvert grain was added ontop of this. If you're in the main GH group on FB, search my name (Kevin Luiz) and I have a post on the GH5S vs. GH6 in ProRes Raw comparing the two. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@@capionstudio Thanks man! i also own both camera's and was already working wiht ProRes Raw on the GH5S (only for green screen). I will be looking into a denoiser plugin.
i'm sorry to ask and not to search depper about GH6, but if i may bring this problem about striking light problem in past firmware GH6, is this problem still occured in some situation ? backlight or bright source lighting ? thank you before.
Fabulous guys. Just bought a gh6 and the ipad USB type c only recognizes MP4 format videos. Will a MacBook m1 pro recognize prores 5.7 k natively or some conversion has to be applied? I was hoping to use luma fusion on the ipad but have to sadly only use Mp4 for that. Would an atomos ninja v plus help? Thanks. Great video again. Gotta try the 120 fps too!
Hey thanks for the watch! So im not sure about the IPad, but yes, any MacBook Pro will recognize ProRes and they're shouldn't be a need to transcode, as ProRes is native to Mac. Regarding the Ninja V+, I cant recommend it more highly. Its a quintessential component of my kit. Not only is it great for monitoring, it opens up all sorts of additional recording capabilities. So if you can get one, pick one up - its a no brainer and it'll help you tremendously in the field.
Hello. Yes - DR boost is on for 5.8K 4:3 mode at 24P. For 4K 120P however (any slow motion depicted here) it cannot be turned on (limitation of the feature / sensor readout). With DR boost set to ON, the native / base ISO is 2000.
This is absolutely insane footage. Really very cinema cam-adjacent in quality!
Nice work!
Thank you! Love the grade and the overall look and feel :)
Good film look !! Filmconvert를 사용했어?

@@MarcoStarink Neat Video's Noise Reducer is a GODSEND. It's miraculous, honestly

Can you record simultaneously internally when outputting RAW?
Are you using DR boost? What ISO does DR boost work with ProRes Raw external?

Which ssd did u use? My gh6 and ninja v+ arrive soon…
The provided AngelBird SSD. I got it with the packaged raw kit
@@capionstudio nice. I wanted to use a ‘normal’ ssd. I wonder which supports 120fps 4k
