_AWESOME_ video. Glad you've got the pro gear; every frame is a painting, as they say. So many wonderful moments that woulda been missed if you'd stayed inside!
Snow thunder is absolutely nuts. It just bounces around over and over, so instead of one rumble per flash, you get the initial boom and then it echoes over and over for 10-15 seconds.
Sydneysider here! Now living in the UK, but stuck in the poxy south missing out on all the snow up north. Anyway, it has snowed in Sydney. Once. In Blacktown, it didn't settle, but it did snow. And, one year, it snowed in Katoomba, in NOVEMBER, about 20cm snow, I was attending the high-school there at the time and it was absolute chaos at the school because of the novelty. Half the students (like 400-500 students) indulged in a massive snowfight out in the playing field, no one came in for first period, it was hilarious. By hometime, it was over 20C and the snow was as good as gone, typical Blue Mountains weather, lol. Tokyo looks so pretty in the snow.
It’s cool seeing snow in other places in the world, and how others react to it. I’m from Minnesota and this year we’ve had 30-50 degree days throughout Jan-Feb so far, and that means no snow and everything else is melting here.
It rarely snows here (Southern Nevada, USA) but every once in a while, we get a snow...like every 30 years or so. It is funny to see snow on palm trees. Tokyo snow...especially Shinjuku and Shibuya give me such Blade Runner vibes. Love your videos, Sarah...keep 'em coming... ;-)
I've stopped four minutes in to say, this is great. Seizing the moment and just shooting this footage, especially as it's a bit of a rarity. Excellent.
Yesterday I commented about watching video in Winter cold snowy day and this video seems to have same environments 🙂Nothing warms better than hot coffee in the cold winter day! Evening city lights and snowing in the background gives cozy vibes! City evening view from Udon place was really beautiful. Thanks for teleporting me to the Tokyo!
reminds me back when i was in tokyo in 2016, it was 50 years ago when it snowed in early days of november.... snowed most morning, stayed at ueno then went for a stroll around the park and headed to yokohama to look at old tin toys
As a fellow Aussie from the Sunshine Coast, I totally feel your excitement for the snow! ❄️ I would be out all night in it for sure. And lightning too, what the heck? I had to rewind to watch it again 🤩 Thanks for another lovely cozy video!
Thank you for posting another amazing video 💙❄️ I am day dreaming about coming back to Japan. I met the love of my life there pre-covid times, we now have a little baby boy and look forward to taking him to Japan one day soon ❤ Lots of hugs from Sydney 💛
This is so beautifully shot and a high quality video all round. You present it very well with an infectious energy. Oh and my day included snow also ☺️
The snow looks gorgeous! I am in Tokyo tonight on a stopover en route to Okinawa (yay! I brought plenty of clip on koalas thanks for the suggestion and lots of Caramello koalas and wallabies 😊)
I much prefer locations where all 4-Seasons are distinct. And my favorite season is Winter. So, I thoroughly enjoyed this video, as it brought back memories of Winter in Tokyo for me. I've lived in Maborikaigan and Meguro.
I was in Shibuya when it snowed I believe it was feb 5th. I had to go out to eat and I ended up at an izakaya downstairs from my hotel. Also the guy that took a photo of you through the window was using a Leica camera.
Reminds me of the Adam Gibson from Aerial Maps spoken word "Angie Hart" - "Finally having a use for the many beanies I have accumulated over the years"
I was there on Monday, touring the Gibli museum when the snow started. Within 2 hours the Mitaka area was covered in white. It was so beautiful. We may have crossed path lol
If you don't work in an aquarium store so you have access to oxygen and a bag to turbostart heatpacks (throw heatpack in bag, add oxygen, hold shut and shake the whole thing) the best way to go about it is to alternately shake them like a shakeweight and knead them for a while - it really pays off to spend a little time because they get significantly warmer.
The snow in Tokyo is soooo pretty!!! Next time I go back I'll have to try the curry more, I was afraid to eat it while there last year because I'm not a huge fan of the curry here in America. But I had some of my friends and it was so good, such a different flavor! Much love from Arizona 💜💜
It's rare if I get snow ❄️🌨️ where I live in England but when it does, I get so excited 😆. I have to go and photograph it ❤😂. It's amazing how everything changes in the landscape when it snows. Everything just feels so peaceful and calm. Awesome video Sarah, thank you 🫶
kudos for your hardcore dedication for showing us (non-JP residents) the snowy scenes in Tokyo. interesting fact: in addition to that burdock dish you ordered, i think theotyer dish (@ 7:10) contained lotus roots. would love to see you speak 100% in Japanese, in some of your future vlogs (i know adding caption can be a pain, but... please consider it) 😊 ありがとうございます
Oh thats funny, i crossed that same crossing in Shinjuku around 10 that night, Jordan (Afroinjapan) proclaimed it never snows in Tokyo so i didnt have to bring my boots, so lets say i was drenched and more or less skating in the wet snow. Sat in a bar in Golden Gai til 3-4 ish before heading back to the hotel. And here i was trying to escape the snow in Norway xD Also, been meaning to visit that Fuglene in Shibuya for like 4 years xD i've yet to go xD
The hotel I stayed at in Kobe was handing out body and hand warmers in December. My hack was to put the body warmer in the interior pocket of my down jacket, roll it up and stuff it in my camera bag. Absolute bliss walking out of a train station and throwing on a hot jacket.
@@seerasan Kobe Plaza, it was like 5000¥ for the night and probably the best and cheapest hotel experience of the trip. Modern, great location, great staff, very good amenities. I have to say I used your recommendation for Kabin Kyoto and it was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at though! You were redeemed for the o’kaffe and weekenders coffee tip off lol
@@seerasan super basic and dirty. Lots of stuff in the room didn’t work, hairs and even dead flies on everything. They don’t service the rooms or even have a place to throw stuff away once you had filled the shoebox sized bin in the room. Room was so basic and cheap, no phone, single cup and towel, window frosted for some reason so you can’t see out. They want you to download an app to access any hotel services where you give your passport details and a facial scan to a third party. They put multilingual Europeans on the reception desk but they picked ones that don’t speak English 😅 And they also sent me a pissy email the moment my lost bag got delivered via Yamamoto. Places looks like a 4 star from the outside but it’s ran like a youth hostel.
Snow in Tokyo where you can prance around and visit these おしゃれ types of cafes and have fun walking around is one thing and snow in my neighborhood is another where it freezes everything and is nice to look at but after about 5 minutes it loses its novelty for me. You look so happy in that weather 😊 not for me though!! 😂
A beautiful snowy night out in Tokyo, just a girl and her 4K camera. I'd be enjoying it for about five minutes. Then udon, a couple cocktails and back to the hotel☃
Looks fantastic. You can't beat a warm boost meal or two in cold weather. Though rather than hand warmer packs, I'd much prefer to hug a kawaii and cuddly vlogger under their Pikachu brolly. ❤🔥
That hilarious moment when, at first, my brain didn’t compute that was lightning but just thought it was some kinda of crazy Tokyo-at-night lighting effect!
Came back last night from a 5 day trip to Tokyo and I was glad I got my chelsea boots with me. It was so hard to walk in the snow and my trainers got soaked.
The snow went from barely falling to harsh snow with strong winds in Chiba on monday night.. Sadly I couldn't really enjoy the snow. It also feels like I'm walking on slushie puddles 😅
Your soooo our now queen 👑☃️⛸️❄️🌨️🏂🏔️. Cute cafe❤☕🍫. Kanpai 20cm od snow due UK 8/2/24. ⚡🌨️ Wow, picture perfect shock smile 😁. Perfect bowel of udon. It's massive 😮. The view, wow. Lemon buck🍋😮

Not a huge fan of snow in the city, but I'm also not against other people enjoying it AS LONG AS THEY"RE NOT SLEDDING IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AT 2 IN THE MORNING. :)
Any other snow lovers? ❄️ if it snowed would you stay in or go out?
@seerasan I was just in Tokyo on holiday when it snowed!! Was unreal but became soo hectic later in the night in shibuya
I'm in Syndey. I'd do exactly what you're doing lol.
Did your hair change? Looked so pretty. The snow is great too, you couldn't stop me!!
Go out!
@@fo4urm640yes I dyed it blonde 😆

Thank you 🫶 I just upgraded my gear, so it was the PERFECT timing!

I thought it was so cool too!!
Snow thunder is absolutely nuts. It just bounces around over and over, so instead of one rumble per flash, you get the initial boom and then it echoes over and over for 10-15 seconds.
This is iconic because your older snow day in Tokyo video was the first i watched and i also love snow so much!! 💙
That’s awesome! Thanks for sticking around since the beginning ❄️🫶
I love winter in japan. Never forget the experience beautiful scenery with snow especially Nagano and Aomori.
Absolutely love snowy weather! Tokyo looks incredible in the winter
Looks great but was not xD
What a beautiful video,Tokyo in the snow look's so amazing! Thank you very much for all these Tokyo in the snow magic 😊
I can promis you, it was not as much fun in person -_-

Interesting to see all the umbrellas. We don't generally use them in the US when it snows.
It's to maintain the cyberpunk esthetic. It's written into the Japanese constitution
最近は電子機器を持ち歩く人が増えたからRain dayでは濡れないように傘をさしています。
Japanese dont seem to like getting wet i guess, it's umbrellas all over the place like for real.
Wow, not only did it snow, you got THUNDERSNOW 💙
Had no idea it was such a rare phenomenon! Glad I caught it on camera
Amazing Video! Such cool Vibes! I am going to Japan in March so I am extremely excited already. Thanks for sharing and greetings from Germany! :)

I did the same when it snowed in Paris a few weeks ago because it's so rare. But it made me so happy !
Also, Love your blond hair ❤
Wow!! I'd love to witness Paris when it snows someday too, sounds magical! Thank you, I love my new hair too! 💕😊

Very much just documented the evening as it came! No planning whatsoever 😆❄️
Thanks for you taking the time in your day to leave this comment
Thundersnow! I grew up in Colorado USA and I love the snow so much!
I love Japanese Cities at night and with the snow I am approaching peak envy.
Thundersnow is rare. Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel here in the states loves Thundersnow. He goes nuts when he is in it. Timestamp of 10:01

Wow, wow, snow. Wonderful to see how much you enjoyed it 🙂 Nice Udon spot.
The hot pad/heat pack thing is a game changer the last time I went to Japan in winter !
Snow is the only thing that makes winter bearable... It just brings some light into the otherwise dark grey mood
同感!
Heard that it snowed the other day, wondered if we'd be getting a vlog :)
I was in Tokyo this time last year, wish I was there this year.
