  • In this session, Leseliey Welch and Jess Gutfreund of Birth Center Equity and Mary Demery of Wright Collective talk about what it means to collectively fund a future where birth is safe, sacred, loving and celebrated for everyone. Leseliey, Jess and Mary discuss how birth centers, where midwifery care is led by Black, Indigenous and people of color midwives and public health leaders, are community institutions healing generations. Collective giving and relationships have been key to successes in the Birth Center Equity network, and the speakers share details and next steps for growing birth centers.
This session was recorded in May 2024 during the fourth annual We Give Summit.
