If you haven't seen this movie, it's great. Watch it. Great acting, great emotional pull. I didn't know the story until I watched the movie, the ending is a gut punch.
What's The Takeaway? It's a freaking movie my brothers lost there lives there family's lost dad's and husband's and son's and uncles. I understand the concept of the movie but don't say it's great. Yes it tells us a untold story but great great men lost there lives.
That Chains Dude the movie was great for people that doesn't know what really goes on with fighting fires and the work those m4n put into doing it man, it was sad can't get mad at that man.
@@chainshishd9127 yes it is a devastating film and many great men died but that doesn't mean the film isn't great, some of the greatest films ever made are about depressing truths, shindlers list etc...
Taylor Thompson if your not some internet troll seeking attention and sympathy then im sorry for your loss..after looking into this incident since ive seen the movie ive gained a huge amount of respect for these guys in this line of work..i couldnt imagine having to go through what Brendan McDonough and the families have gone through..fuckin sucks man..
Zak Grady definitely not a troll, nor am I looking for sympathy but thank you for your kind words. The thing people need to understand is that every last one of these guys loved what they did. It doesn't make it easier for their wives or their families but they get it. A friend of mine who was on that crew before he switched to structure was a technical advisor for the movie and made sure they did it right. Go see it or buy it. Its amazing, and it's also funny.
Taylor Thompson yeah i actually watched it about 4 hours before i wrote that comment. The following hours were spent looking into the specifics ya know figuring out what was true and what was hollywood playing it up and from what i can tell there wasnt that much embellishment and thats why i loved the movie soo much..just a terrible accident that ended up killing 19 incredibly brave people who knew the risk and died along side their brothers..its absolutely terrible that it happened but i feel like eveything happens for a reason and i would like to believe that with these 19 brave men's deaths that countless lives were saved because of them and also because of the advancements in equipment, tactics, and training since this tragedy..
I think this movie just made a lot of kids want to become hotshots. Brolin did a great job at the end with the radio calls, though I wish they included the communication between Marsh and air attack.
I just watched this movie two days ago and cried like a baby. Everyone needs to watch this movie they go into situations were other would run away from.
Not hearing (or was it not listening..ADD) about this tragedy, the wife and I went to the IMAX in Victoria to watch this movie. I thought it was just about following the gruelling effort about firefighting. This first showing was a packed house, and when the terrible truth came out every one of us in there became absolutely shocked and silent, followed by quiet sobbing. I have never seen so many people leave a theatre without one person talking! It gripped us all All I could say was “Wow!” Brave men who were far beyond any description of what brave is. Thank you gentlemen, and your families, for your heroic sacrifice.
Not just hero's these men fight against the very embodiment of nature's wrath and say you will not beat me I am going to stop you if it takes even my last breath. If there is a world to truly describe these men I don't think it's been invented yet I don't think hero is strong enough a word
Firefighters dont get appreciated everyday for what they do. My husband is a FF/wildland and i love that he persued his dream as a child. But it sucks that they get a thank you or much appreciation due to the fact they are first on the line at a fire or wild fire, mostly saving peoples lives when at any moment theyll lose theirs and thats when they only get appreciated. So if you see a FF say thank you and tell them they do an excellent job.
I visit the sight every time I drive from San Diego to Missouri to visit my Army disabled son, my youngest son is a firefighter,,,, so this hits home and every time we visit it’s always difficult to cope and understand how and why this men had to die this way,, sad,, thank you hero’s 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻
This movie is such an eye opening experience for people who don’t quite know what being a firefighter is about but not only a fire fighter this goes for police officers and the military as well every day they wake up and put there lives on the line to protect and serve, being a wild land firefighter myself and I wouldn’t change it for the world and seeing the big smile on my kids faces and then knowing what I do and them being proud makes it even more awarding
Good thing i didn't see this in the theater when it came out i would have balled my head off it's so real and genuine the cast you get easily pulled into the story and feel like one of the guys then the ending rips your heart out what a tremendous film
a great movie, but only few have interest to watch it here in the Philippines. but for me who have a first hand experience fighting fire up in the mountains, it's epic and educational.. hope to see more movies like this.
Before I watched it I didn't know what to expect other than it was based on a real life tragedy. It really got me to the core, it's that kind of movie, but so well made I think they did right by those guys.
Fantastic movie story, this broke my heart I was devastated heartbroken so sad and such a waste I couldn’t believe it I didn’t no the story truth behind it when I watched it omg I was devastated
kudos to Hollywood on this one...wow this was a great movie. I didn't know about the fact based events that were the inspiration for it. Thus giving me a different perspective. Shame on me for having no idea who the Granite Mountain Hot Shots were, and having no idea that 19 of them were to die tragically. I was enjoying this movie for the realness of the characters, and how the everyday working man could view it as a microcosm of his own life. Then being brought to tears, even before the inevitable was numbing. just pure numbing.
"Cut, cut, cut". Americans keep BOYCOTTING HOLLYWOOD. Do not pay money to see this movie. Wait for netflix. Keep BOYCOTTING HOLLYWOOD. No Eyeballs. No Revenue. Pass It On.
Nothing about this is "funny". Wildfire is unpredictable. One minute you think "hey we got this!" And the next your either getting pulled out of a fire or it turns on you. I've been a wildland firefighter for 4 years now. None of this is funny.
After watching this film and if you stand for our National Anthem out of respect for men and women like these, then have a look at GQ Magazines "Citizen of the Year", of all people....Colin Kaepernick......really ? obviously, GQ is not a "Mens" magazine, nor is it American !!
If none of you have not done wildlandfirefighting. Please shut your mouth. Only we, who have done this type of dirty gritty line of work only knows what it feels like to watch this.

Great men lost their lives which means it's not a great movie?
I know right? I didn't know the movie when I watched and was devastated with the ending.

Proud to say I knew 3 men on this crew. I think they would be proud with the end result of this movie.

Taylor Thompson I never cried so hard at a movie ever
I think this movie just made a lot of kids want to become hotshots. Brolin did a great job at the end with the radio calls, though I wish they included the communication between Marsh and air attack.
Just when you think Hollywood has lost it's soul a great movie like this comes out.
I just watched this movie two days ago and cried like a baby. Everyone needs to watch this movie they go into situations were other would run away from.

I totally agree with you!
Just watch this movie today, teared up :(
Wildfire firemen are heroes.
Just some random kid Guitar. You should have cried.
I'm a volunteer fire fighter, make sure you show your support and appreciation to your local fire fighters, it will help them.
Not just hero's these men fight against the very embodiment of nature's wrath and say you will not beat me I am going to stop you if it takes even my last breath. If there is a world to truly describe these men I don't think it's been invented yet I don't think hero is strong enough a word
Damn this movie kicked me in the feels so hard. And it says something when a movie does that to me... These guys were true heroes. Wow, just... Wow.

kimberly bennett tell him thankyou from all of us
Giving a picture to a tragedy that was heard around the world. No words can describe what these individuals go through on those mountains.

These firefighters do an incredible job!
Great actor, he looks just like his dad! This movie really made me so sad and I cried like a baby. RIP to all those brave men!
I watched a couples of minutes ago the movie and am touched. R.I.P. all you heros.

I’ve seen a lot of very very sad movies but this one was one that really hit me
YetiM3 I cried like a baby
Josh Brolin is a very talented actor and might I add, he's very, very handsome, too! 🙂
Loved him since the young riders..
Incredible film. Important film. Please watch this!
This was heart breaking.
Just an absolute fantastic movie!!
this is one movie that I can only watch once
Omg I just remember me in my shitty house looking out the window at the fire at midnight
Basically, Sony Pictures "Iron Gianted" this movie.
His best movie is still "Thrashin". And much respect to all the firefighters. Corey Webb.
Best movie I've ever seen.
kudos to Hollywood on this one...wow this was a great movie. I didn't know about the fact based events that were the inspiration for it. Thus giving me a different perspective.

Great movie
Everyone should watch this movie. I hate that it's been overlooked.
I would like to know that Mr. Brolin had a chance to see the fatality site during the filming.
Respect to the Braves
Luv this actor
Gorgeous man
You see that, Matt Damon?
right on Josh!!

Wait for the thing that your subscription enables Netflix to pay Hollywood a licensing fee? They get your money either way.
I can't not hear him and think of thanos it's just engraved into my mind that josh brolin is thanos
I still have scares from the fire I've chasing down
I still don't understand why police make more $ than firefighters...these are the ones who truly protect and serve.
MUCH better actor than his dad,James Brolin!
Keep Boycotting Hollywood. Do not pay money to see this movie or any others, wait a few months for NETFLIX.
ThrummerOfLove Sad isn't it....
Step mama is Barbara Streisand.
Cable is near!
Is it really? He is banned? Why? I think he is doing okay, very okay as Thanos and Cable (i live in Indonesia, in Asia)
Я че та не понял А как они умерли ? все же в Мешках БЫЛИ !!!!
Why is thanos on tv
eThug more like why is cable on tv
ANTAGONIZED why is the leader from Sicario on TV?
Would you want Thanos to save you if your house was on fire
That video is not real he died in the fire during the the fire so that not real
Very funny that this movie is coming out after so many wild fires breaking out.
They could not have lucked out any better if they planned it.
You think they planned it ?
John Anderson Or did they..... WIERD GENERIC UFO MUSIC PLAYS.
I don't think that "funny" is a good word to use there
what the hell is wrong with you
Nothing about this is "funny". Wildfire is unpredictable. One minute you think "hey we got this!" And the next your either getting pulled out of a fire or it turns on you. I've been a wildland firefighter for 4 years now. None of this is funny.
These great men died due to a big mistake
He’s so hot . Great movie
CV Dupree yea he is gorgeous
