How well did it work was the weight applied on top or was it hanging at the bottom
They should both work but applying load from top will remove the possibility of a local failure due to loaded area being too small.
im using this for a big assignment ive got in my smart kid class

If I use paper instead, would it be as strong as this? How much mass do you think a paper bridge with this design would be able to withstand?

hot glue
Wood gkue is better but hit glue is faster

It is called Hot Glue.

Bucatini number 6. However, the number can be different for various companies.
