I ordered the "Sunset" one basically just for the finished body to build a partscaster. I also ordered a cheap Chinese neck for like $36 that has the classic Telecaster headstock shape. I'll probably put a set of Kluson vintage split post tuners on it. I'll definitely be upgrading all the electronics.

Thank you for posting a very informative video. I'm actually considering this exact guitar, even in the green color. I'm looking for a simple guitar to keep in my office to practice over lunch or breaks. This looks perfect for that use to me.

Thank you so much Rich, yeah I saw that one on their site, looks pretty cool, it's incredible how they build them at such a low price point, deffo an ideal guitar to have as a project. I have a set of DiMarzio telecaster pickups spare, so I may at some point put them in here, we shall see! 😎🤘

Good review of an amazing guitar. Note I didn't say "...for the money". These instruments are great to play at any price. I note there was no negative (or indeed positive) bias regarding it being a top loader (as are Les Pauls!). Your great playing of course also showed the versatility of the Tele to almost all styles (rock to blues to jazz, etc) and not just a "country guitar".

Got a yeller one. Delivered earlier this week. eBay vendor purchase. $68.40 delivered. Pluses: Beautiful gloss finish. Nice chrome. I have not thoroughly checked it, but my quick inspection- Maple Fretboard nice, but needs to be cleaned of a film of sorts. Frets appear to be level. Action OK, not high or low. (I have Luthier tools enroute -when I receive them, I will do a more exact inspection of neck, frets and action.) One suspicious thing about my Garry GTL: The vendor may have sent me a returned guitar. The pick guard did not have a protective plastic attached and there appears to be pick scuffing. Also the strings are super shiny at the frets, indicating they have been played. The strings are not good, I have new strings which should arrive with my TEMU Luthier kit. Electronic control switched looked good and work well. I remember when I was fourteen years old (5 decades ago) buying my first Sears no-name budget electric guitar. I ended up hating that strat wanna-be. it had very high action and I suffered playing it. By comparison, this GTL is a dream guitar, the irony is I paid about the same price for the piece of junk from Sears Roebuck 50 years ago. The Garry is a nice, cheap, but well-constructed guitar that can be upgraded.

Just bought the very same guitar, green, and to be honest for the money it is brilliant as long as you are prepared to do a little bit of 'home maintenance' on the neck (truss rod adjustment), the frets, as you rightly have shown in your excellent video, and possibly the nut. I would wholeheartedly agree that you would need to do a string change, I've changed to 'Ernie Balls Regular Slinky 10's). If I had one criticism it would be that the pick guard does not meet up with the bridge pick-up, but really that is not a serious issue. Other than all that, your video is excellent, the guitar is excellent and with a bit of minor adjustment plays as a Tele should, buying it was a no brainer, this is an an excellent finished guitar for the money. Cheers.

Sounds really good. What is your signal chain from guitar to recording, post effects, etc.?

I just saw another review of this guitar and it didnt sound anything like this. It sounded horrible. The intonation was off. It was buzzy. It was junky.
