I really enjoy using the DJI Wireless Mic with my DJI smart controllers. Great tutorial on how to get good audio while doing screen recordings. Thanks for sharing, Shaun.

Hello Shaun, I have a smart RC2 with mini4 pro and plugged in a USB mic but cannot get it saved. n the settings audio record is permitted while using the dji Fly app. what do I wrong?
Hi Shaun, Just watched this one,,,, again, love your no frills style! I think have voice over the drone footage adds a nice human touch to the silence that is flying this little miracles. I use a Tascam cavalier mic (and hopefully remember to clap of my hands so I can sync later) at the beginning of flight as the drone camera is running, facing me. Back home later I download drone footage using the usb3 cord directly to my computer for editing. Ditto for the voice recording. I skip putting files on iPhone entirely. Finally, I use Davinci Resolve to sync everything up. Works pretty well.
Thank you Jan for your comment and good to know you use another type of microphone for your audio and it works well. I always forget to clap while filming and then mess around in edit, to sync. Many thanks for watching.
Hi, since making that video, DJI have sorted the problem. Just remove the SD card from the RC2 controller, on your computer, scroll down to Movies, screen saver download. In your edit software, add the music file under your drone - good luck
@@shaunthedrone yeah i worked out about the SD card. Im trying to use the drone video and the controller video to make 1 video. use drone footage, and the sound from the controller footage. What editing software do you use to achieve this? Thank you for your time.
Another good video by Shaun, the DJI mic is a good mic. I am making a youtube video with 4 different Mics of different price ranges with the DJI being the most expensive. I also am including showing how to sync the audio recording to the drone footage so one can narrate the flight as you fly, it is pretty easy and works well.
Does your map and gyro work with it plugged in? I have a mini 4 Pro and same DJI mic kit. My horizon gyro doesn't work with the mic receiver plugged in. DJI said "just don't use it".
Good question Michael, just tested mine now and both work fine with the DJI mic kit. Seems a strange comment to say don't use it. Hopefully it works okay without using the mic and your up today with the software.
I've seen other videos where they use different sorts of mics, check out this channel ruclips.net/video/_Snk06eTbfo/видео.htmlsi=6rdPdOLrHsO4uAix I know it's the DJI RC but this will also work with the DJI RC2, hopefully this helps.
Hello my friend. I want to record videos with my drone and do screen recording with audio too. Can you tell me if the DJI Rc 2 is compatible with other microphone brands or just with the brand's own microphone. I know that the RC 1 control was possible with another brand, but I don't know about this new control. Would you help me?
Hi, as I only use the DJI microphone setup, that what I can only show but it's the same with the DJI RC, you can use any other microphone setup for it to work. Many thanks for watching.
Hi, have you tried it in edit? Had to watch my video again to see what could go wrong. Sometimes, try again to see if their was a connection problem with the mic - let me know how you get on
On the DJI RC2, when all the lights are green. When you first turn on, the first light is red and the rest are green, it will turn green when connected. Many thanks for watching.
Hi, as far as I know it only works with the DJI RC & DJI RC2. I think on the DJI RCN2, it's just a power supply only. You could ask DJI Support, maybe they can help you. Many thanks for watching.
So recording this way, with the mic plugged into your rc2 allows you to narrate your flight and record your voice while flying instead of having to do a voice over after the fact?
That's correct, instead of taking another camera and tripod, you can do it just using your screen save footage and drone footage. Many thanks for watching.
So without a Mic there is no audio in your recording ? Just using the drone i mean ! Today i made some videos and they are silent ! Great video and content mate ! Cheers
hi i had a cheap wireless mic that worked with my mini3 not the pro worked great i got a mini4 and my mic dont work is djis way of making you use there own stuff s send me a bucket full of yer lovley weather
DJI are crafty when bringing out new gear and trying to use other stuff, sometimes don't work. Wish I could send some of this sunny weather over - tomorrow 31c in shade :)
For those who like making drone videos by yourself, recording audio off your DJI RC2 when doing a screen video. Many thanks for watching

Thank you, glad you found the video helpful. I got the lanyard on Amazon es a few years ago, sorry not got a link. Many thanks for watching.
Hi , how do u add screen to your Video ? Thanks
Good question, I use Final Cut Pro for my editing and just add it on top, crop, resize and works well. Many thanks for watching.
how do u take the audio from the controller video and put it on to the drone footage to give it audio ? Any help appreciated

Very informative thanks
Thank you Terry, glad you enjoyed the video. Many thanks for watching.
Very nice 😎🤝

Thanks for showing this, nice mode. Would be nice to strap a mic to the drone too!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. Strapping a mic to the drone would sound very noisy with the drone motors. Many thanks for watching.
I can get this to work with the normal RC-N2 remote, why? pls help
Hi, as far as I know it only works with the DJI RC & DJI RC2. I think on the DJI RCN2, it's just a power supply only. You could ask DJI Support, maybe they can help you. Many thanks for watching.
same as me it doesn’t work when you just plugin the mic in the rc 2 control. the sd card for video is in the drone maybe it have to be inside the RC ?
So recording this way, with the mic plugged into your rc2 allows you to narrate your flight and record your voice while flying instead of having to do a voice over after the fact?

hi again i got a new lavier mic this one works wonder why the other one dont never mind happy flying
Good to know, some people are having problems with this one using the RC2 but good yours is working. Many thanks for watching.
Please include product links

What's it sound like
Many thanks for watching.
Perhaps I used a PC mic. So Ill try a special one for a phone.
Give it a go, let me know how you get on.
i think the main think is that you have to switch on SCREEN SAVE that’s important 😅
Many thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.
