Agreed, but they dont do it cause its expensive and nowadays outdated. Porsche engines are the only modernized ones and we all know how expensive those are
Andre awesome video as always! Did you do a full interview with Andy for this iteration of his build as I love everything that Andy has done to the etc a work of art it truly is
This is just a TECH NUGGET which is a short clip from a longer interview. As people generally only watch 1-3 mins of a video we have cut a few of them up so many people catch some great content they might have missed in longer interviews (as you also can't label every interesting thing that is covered in a 10-20 min conversation either). For videos like this that are cut I always include the link to the full version close to the top of the description for you guy that want to check out the entire thing :) - Taz.
@@RDSAlphard on subaru using transaxel diff the center of the diff was already behind the center of front wheels. Plus the owner move the engine way back to get the weight bias. That makes it way off that driveshaft angle was unacceptable, so he use the chain drive to get over it.
R34 wouldn't match up to the H6 engine. The R34 front differential is integrated into the oil pan casting. Even the best sequential Subaru transmissions can't reliably hold 1000HP. This guy has actual experience racing a 1000HP car that's working fine with the chain drive.
Nice one Sam. I was just about to say we're keen to check out Joshs WRX build that uses an R34 drivetrain to see how easy his build was - Taz. media.giphy.com/media/26DOs997h6fgsCthu/giphy.gif
Besides the oilpan integration with the front diff, why would you try to buy a hyper expensive, highly demanded, early 2000s used transmission from the car that literally everyone wants
Wow what an interesting setup, this team is always on the forefront
I love the engineering involved here! Unique
I wanna see more of that car

I really don't see enough H6 builds

Gamma Light Heard of Porsche?lots of flat 6 builds..
@@jrew3569 I guess I should've more been specific? H6 Subaru builds are what I don't see alot of.

Amazing getting that to work in a rex. I cant even get my auto GT-t box out of limp mode lol.
Wow! Now I'm really impressed by this setUp on this Subaru. Show me more on this car! 😁

Reupload? I swore I've seen this video before
You're not alone.
Was up similar time last year. ruclips.net/video/9oBfj_D9DGE/видео.html
It didn't have a GTR transmission last time.
Yea it did bud... same video same footage.. just a shorter edit. Good content nonetheless :)
Gr6 is mighty
think the only meaning is because the subaru chassy is light and the engine can deliver great power
I think what he really means are those original drivetrain setup are so bad for weight balance and holding torque
Why you cut the video midpoint ?

@@hpa101 Thanks. :)
where can we find images of the transmission layout ? I want to know how they did it ..
Stupid question but, have the lap times improved with this new setup?
Cut right before he mentions the full power shifts at 700ftlbs..
I guess Andre really didn't agree with that strategy :)

I think it might have sold already #missedopportunity - Taz.
Lucky new owner !? Great videos as always
What in the shit is the chain drive for? Is he seriously driving the front diff with that? lmao
Chain drive was his last setup. Run pretty good tho.
Chain drive because the diff is way forward of where the front wheels center point is.

!
A chain driven front diff....just stop. Should have used the R34 drivetrain and either shift like a man or use a sequential system
