It may sound counter intuitive, but: if you use a cement paving stone rather than some towels you'll get much, much better isolation. These are awesome! Keep them up!
Great work! I'm looking into tackling a similar project and am looking for stepper motors that will make loud sounds like these. Would you mind sending a link to where I can buy some of these exact model that you use? Thanks in advance!
These are ordinary stepper motors. When not attached to anything they are nearly silent. They need a resonant amplifier to boost and enhance the vibrations into much louder sound. The other factor is how they are driven. More advanced stepper drivers will actually make them quieter as most applications want to reduce the vibrations and sounds they make. I'm using cheap generic allegro a4988 stepper drivers as they are quite "noisy".
Seems like it's unavoidable to prevent step skipping at higher speed, so you lowered the octave for the climax part. But nice work anyway.
I can see it evolving into the next Mellotron. Nice work.

This is absolutely beautiful!!!! Though the rear bass motors are a bit loud. Can't wait for this to advance!!
If you can turn it slowly, you can turn it quickly
