  • When one of my subscribers asked me what I thought of the Elling E6, I just knew that I had to make a video about this incredible vessel because the Elling E6 is one of my favourite 'all-weather' motor yachts.
    A few years ago, I saw an Elling E6 at the Southampton Boat Show, and I was immediately struck by her strong lines and the fact that the Elling E6 is marketed as an ocean-going vessel.
    And when you look at her, it is easy to understand why.

    Perfect for my plan. Get Elling E6. Start at Statue of Liberty. Head up the Hudson and into the Erie canal, then through the great lakes to Chicago, then down the Illinouse river to the Mississippi and on to the gulf of mexico and into the Atalantic avoiding Florida because they may have a speeding warrent out for me. Then across the Atlantic to Gibralter and into the Mediterranean (thanks auto fill). All the way across to Istanbul. Now it gets a bit sketchy because I have to make it across the western end of the Black Sea without getting missiled or droned and into and up the Danube. I know there's a canal connecting into the Rhine system so down that to the North Sea. Then back across the North Atlantic to New York City and the Statue of liberty.
    The E6 meets all the draft requirements air/water and has ocean crossing capability. Besides the Kevlar may help with the Black Sea part. Can you just imagine all the things you would see from your luxury ride? I'd have the CAB seat array set on a telescoping mount so I could rise it up through the roof opening. I haven't ever heard of another boat as well suited for what I propose. It is to dream.

      Hi, thanks 🙌 sounds like we have a similar taste when it comes to rugged, ocean-going vessels

    And not to mention it's self righting capability, meaning if it for some reason cap sized, it will come back up again. This is an xtremely safe yacht

    You’re quite right about this - and all Ellings. I look and many, many yachts and I keep coming back to Elling. I am coming to consider the E4 as the perfect yacht for single-handed exploration in a motor yacht. It only does the E4 have amazing sea keeping and fantastic range, her size allows her to tuck into small marinas and cruise the European canals.

      @@YachtBuoy If I was buying a boat it would be between the Nordhavn N63 or the E6. I would a really have a hard time choosing.

      Me too. If I was pushed for time, then it would be the E6. But if I had a few months then it would be the N63

    First time I've seen this yacht. Very stylish and handsome. Does it have bow spray rails? What about specs? LOA? Beam? Engines?
    Flybridge option?

    I love the e6 in highline guise. My only question is the lack of engine room . The motor sits behind panels in the living area. Is this a weak spot for leaks without any watertight bulkheads like u would have with a conventional engine room on a long range yacht?

    • @YachtBuoy
      @YachtBuoy  3 года назад +2

      It certainly is unusual. As well as watertight integrity, compartmentalised engine rooms serve to act as a citadel should there be a fire. I would have to speak to Elling to get a more formal response.

    • @leochen887
      @leochen887 Месяц назад +1

      That's an important consideration; the engine being located in the middle of the living area. Is it quiet? Is it easily accessible? BTW, what is the shaft angle? Isn't this a plastic boat; thus vulnerable to fires? Might it be better served if it was constructed of steel or aluminum?

    I am in the market and the Elling MV are on my list as well as a Fleming. How would you compare this E6 to a comparable Fleming MV? Thanks

    • @YachtBuoy
      @YachtBuoy  3 года назад +4

      I would say that it depends on what your cruising aspirations are. If you are looking for a vessel to take on long voyages, then I would say the Fleming 58. At at 6 kts, she has a range of around 2200 NM. If you are going to be using the boat for shorter voyages, then the E6 would probably be better suited. For me, the E6 is perhaps more 'nimble' and is better suited to short to medium range cruising, whereas the Fleming would be better suited for long-distance, autonomous cruising. :-) Let me know how you get on.
