Was a GM plug and play. Parked truck one evening. The next morning crank and tan till fuel ran out from rail I awesome. So could hear pump run so I just awesome the pump was out being it has 150k miles. Replaced pump, it runs and can hear it shut off in seconds each time the key is turned on. So you think to take off the fuel line at the pump. It show blow fuel out after turning engine over, rite?
I would guess maybe a plugged fuel line going to the rail you may be able to unhook the fuel lines and blow though them with a air compressor just to check that off the list my be add more fuel to the tank depending on how low it is maybe sucking up air as well if to low not to shur but good luck hope you can get it all fixed!
Cool thanks, doesn't look too hard, except my bed bolts are rusted as shit I assume haha, yeah definitely need an impact wrench (and yes it's a good idea to wear safety goggles for sure). I hear a weird whining noise coming from back there sometimes so yeah I am guessing the pump is going out. Sucks there is always more then one part for the same truck, everything I have ever replaced on this truck there are 2 different ones, like wtf? So I have to take stuff apart twice as to see which one to order (as it's my only vehicle and I drive for a living) and put it back together then take it apart again when I get the part. It's cold as shit here so I'll probably HAVE to take it to a shop, probably be like $300 huh? uhgg..
was messing with the relay fuses under the hood for AC reasons while my 06 sierra was on and took out the fuel pump relay fuse and now my truck wont start. could that have triggered the fuel pump to not work???
@@boostedz72 correct, i put the fuse back all of those relay fuses are the same (8866) and they all work as they work fine on the horn and the high beams. i crank it, it cuts on but instantly shuts off and i dont hear the buzzing sound when you turn the key just before you crank it. 🤷🏻♂️
@@boostedz72 nope, just the check engine light that was already there 😬😂 only thing i can think of that i did wrong was take the relay fuse out for the fuel pump while the truck was on 🤔🤔 definitely a head scratcher. this vid makes it look easy but would hate to change the pump only to find out its something electrical you know.
Hope this helps someone save money on repairs!🎉

@@boostedz72 thanks, I’ll give it a try.
Did you have to rewire in a new plug on the new pump or was it a plug and play pump?
Very very helpful and man are you gonna help me get out of a big hole

Curious how heavy is the truck bed

Is there a security light on or flashing on the dash?
